My name is Krys. I live in a small town in central Texas with my beloved 5 year old coonhound, Lucky. I love being creative and anything that is unique and thoughtful.
Ooh... tough one for a "reformed" English teacher. :)
Anything Kurt Vonnegut. I've also found I love a lot of Jodi Picoult books. And, of course, the classics. Its amazing how many classics I've never had the chance to pick up.
I love the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris. I love the Ender series by Orson Scott Card. It wasn't until recently that I started diving into the wild and weird books that I never thought I would love (IE "Pride, Prejudice, and Zombies").
My favorite short story? "A&P" by John Updike. I'm always in the market for a good short story compilation.
Not a really big fan of horror books. I read Stephen King a lot as a teen and I think I burned myself out on that genre early.
Then again, if it comes highly recommended...I will give anything a read.
I listen to all kinds of music. I have everything from T.I. to Chopin on my iPod. Right now I'm pretty stuck on folk (Joe Purdy, Joshua Radin, Ingrid Michaelson...).
Top three never change: 1. The Crow 2. Tank Girl 3. Boondock Saints
Other than that... anything romantic comedy or comedy.
Greek, Big Bang Theory, Lost, October Road, Reba, True Blood, Grey's Anatomy, and Friends. I love Reba just because there is a character named "Barbara Jean," which was my mother's name.
I'll try anything once or twice. I'm just now getting into ATC's and shadowbox pictures. I used to make hemp necklaces for money in college. I was such a hippie. I just bought a sewing machine in hopes of trying my hands at sewing crafts.
I love anything creative and unique. I guess that's why I gravitate to handmade stuff. Just knowing that someone put time out of their busy lives to make this thing right here... it means a lot to me. I love photography. Some day I'd love to learn how to reclaim stuff (like they do with jewelry and furniture... Have an old lawn chair? POOF it's a coffee table! Have some silverware? POOF its a bangle!)
I'm some weird combination of hippie/emo/punk/nerd. :)
I love old-school tattoo culture. I'm working on making myself a walking artform.
My favorite candy in the whole wide world is a toss-up between Giant Chewy Sweettarts and Sour Skittles.
I'm getting into tea...especially as a teacher in a cold classroom... Not a big fan of the orange blends, but I will try anything.
I love pictures. :) I love regional things. Postcards, magnets... its always fun to see where people choose to live.
