About Me

  • Please note that mail overseas - and especially to the USA- can take a while to arrive (sometimes more than 3 weeks). So please be patient.

I'm a language teacher and speak French, English, Dutch, German, a little Italian and Japanese and currently learning español. I'm starting my own sourdough bakery. I can talk hours about bread ;-)

I'm looking specificly to swap for letters and postcards as I have a huge passion for snail mail. I love to discover new things, crafts and other cultures. Through this site I also discovered the world of mini zines and think they're brilliant.

We homeschool our two children, which is not very common in the Netherlands. I'd be very interested in having a penpal who's also homeschooling or has been homeschooled herself!

I'm vegetarian and I'm always interested in exchanging recipes or ideas. I bake my own bread, love that! As a nature lover green is my favorite colour. I love to recycle and re-use.

I'm interested in arts and crafts and these are part of my pagan/witchy way of life.

Things I love:

I'm vegetarian - love baking bread - nature - travelling - books - modern art - Middle Ages - feathers- crochet - socks - herbal tea - green tea - Japan - India - France - language learning - knitting - botanical gardens - plants - mushrooms - witchcraft/pagan - stoicism - bags - 100% natural soaps - fruit - chocolate - summer - black - green - books - Dr. Who - The Prisoner - Sherlock Holmes - Classic horror movies - Vincent Price - Edgar Allen Poe - Hammer movies - Carlos Castaneda - hippie stuff - retro things- cats - wood/trees - anarchism - self sufficient living - science - sushi - French literature - Bernard Werber - pen pals - fountain pens - and....swapping!

Favorite tea:

All green and herbal teas. No black tea please. I love loose tea! I don't mind at all if you send me a sample in a (handmade) paper bag. Oh and I love Yogi Tea!

Things I really would love to receive:

  • stamp carving material (I especially like the "pink stuff", I can't find it in the shops here)
  • Washi tape
  • stationary, envelopes
  • tea (no black tea please)
  • stickers
  • anything witchcraft themed
  • vegetable/herb seeds! (that can be grown indoors)
  • mini zines
  • As I've got dreadlocks, I like anything to decorate them (beads, thread, etc)
  • samples of Japanese fabrics (for sashiko)
  • friendship bracelets
  • greeting cards/postcards
  • paper craft supplies
  • sewing/crochet/knitting supplies
  • pens, fabric markers
  • kids crafting material
  • cooking and crafting magazines
  • your favorite vegetarian or vegan recipe.
  • Something small for my kids

Dislikes :

  • Artificial fragrances (so, please no scented paper)
  • pink
  • too girly things (floral print, ruffles, glitter)
  • No religious items or texts please.
  • No sweets or chocolate please.

My children

My son is 10 years old and loves cats, animé, kawaii, anything Japanese, cute little things for his treasure cabinet, anything from other cultures/languages. My daughter is 5 years old and loves horses, animals, monsters, halloween, stickers and creative things.

I'm a craftster myself and always appreciate home made items!

Comment: Thank you so much for everything you sent me! I'm looking forward to trying the teas. The fabric bag will also go to good use, my old one has been coming apart slowly from so much use, haha. And rainbow colored things are always great, so that's extra good! 😄✨ Thank you!!
