My Etsy Favorites

. . . . . . . . . .

APRIL 1, 2021

I primarily swap handcrafted items. I've had a lot of fun over the years meeting like-minded people and discovering products and projects I would have never otherwise encountered. I keep almost everything I receive and have a craft room decorated with Swap-bot treasures.

I do occasionally join or host a postcard swap when I'm in the mood for a quick activity. I am not a serious postcard collector, though. This means I'm not picky about the cards I receive. If they meet swap requirements, we're good to go.

I don't usually send extras in my swaps and I prefer not to receive them. This isn't a hard-and-fast rule, by any means. It's just that I'm focused on the swap itself and don't give extras much thought. I'm also in a constant state of destashing because I've already accumulated more than I can use.

These are a few of my current favorites:

  • Abstract Expressionism

  • Impressionism

  • Realism

  • Whimsy

Because I love color so much, it's easier for me to tell you what I don't like than what I do. I'm not a fan of any of the colors you would find in a traditional camouflage pattern: dark tan, khaki green and gray. I've also never liked mustard yellow, avocado and primary orange as the main players in a piece.

I do love bright, saturated colors such as magenta, quinacridone violet, lime green, turquoise, cobalt blue, lemon yellow and cherry red with white detailing and hints of black to make the other colors pop.

There is a time and place for every color, though, and I find all of them appealing when used thoughtfully.

All of the above likes and dislikes are listed to give you an idea of who I am and help ignite your creativity when planning a swap for me. None of it is intended to box you in or stress you out. As they say, swapping is supposed to be fun. And, because of the lovely people I've met here, the interesting challenges I've been given and the great swaps I've received, it has been more fun than I could have imagined.

Happy Swapping!

Comment: I love your Learning Curve project. It's so cute! It's interesting how things can turn out better than you pictured even though they take so much longer than you thought they would. And that prep can be a lot of work and cost so much. Thank you so much for an awesome swap that was a surprise for both of us.
Response: I enjoyed making this for you and am relieved and excited that it was finally delivered :-) I love swapping with you. It's always a good experience! ♥
phillaine rated for N&T: Lucky Charms - RED on Feb 26, 2021
Comment: Thank you for another delightful swap. I think my favorites are those with the tiny flowers / flowers & hearts and the adorable Holly Hobby fabric--I know a couple of swap-bot friends who love her and I have ideas of what to make already! ♥ I really enjoyed this swap and hope you'll host more of these charm swaps in the future. Thank you!
Response: I do plan to host more . . . after I can get back into shopping at actual stores. My stash is a bit pathetic right now. I'm glad you enjoyed the swap. I had fun putting it together for you (after coming out of my brain fog) and look forward to the next round. Thanks for the nice rating!

Comment: I love your psycho-neuro yellowness! Both the envie and the card are very cool. And Hamlet was very pleased to get mail from Coco. (He gave it a good sniff.) Thanks for hosting this one. It's nice once in a while to work on whatever you feel like at the moment.
Response: I loved doing this swap. I think I'm over the psycho babble now, but it was a fun experiment and a great little rabbit hole for my watercolors to travel down. Thanks for doing this with me! P.S. Coco is super happy to hear that Hamlet was pleased with his mail. :-)

LizzyJo rated for Cookieeeees! on Dec 30, 2020
Comment: Guess what arrived today! My cute cookieeeee! (I was beginning to wonder if the hungry snail mails ate it up on the way here.) I like the blue frosting, silver balls, and pretty ribbon. Thank you for the calorie free treat. And the card it came in was sweet, too.
Response: Did you try the silver balls? They're tasty! Thanks for the rating :-)
LizzyJo rated for PVT: Something Crazy on Dec 11, 2020
Comment: Thank you for the prettier than "plain Jane" piece. It fits in well with the rest of its neighbors.
Comment: I LOVE my candy cane cookie ornament! It immediately went on my year round tree in my room. The card is super cute, too! Thank you so much for a wonderful swap!

ccmmsu rated for CPG: Catalog Collision Zine EDITED on Nov 10, 2020
Comment: Oh my gosh, I love this zine so much! I've looked through it 3 times already and each time I see something new. Thank you! And thank you for the used stamps, too. I will definitely use them. <3
Response: Thank YOU for doing such a nice job with this swap. I really appreciate the fact that you followed the directions and sent your project on time. Hosting is a joy when swappers like you participate! I'm glad you like the zine I made. I had so much fun putting it together. Happy swapping :-)
Comment: Lovely zine! Thanks!
Comment: I love your zine! How do you get the pages to print soo perfectly? And the colors are perfect! I especially like the two pages with the guys-perfect!
YooperHill rated for Mad Libs! on Nov 6, 2020
Comment: Fun! Thank you!
Comment: I am really quite blown away by your sampler! It does not say beginner at all. You need to see mine for that! It's so intricately detailed with so much in the small squares. I will find a special place to display this treasure. This sampler swap was quite an adventure!
Response: I agree! This swap was an adventure! I definitely learned a lot. Thanks for putting up with my nervousness about the whole thing. It helped knowing I would be sending it to a kind person. Thank you for the nice rating and for the heart.
Comment: Thank you for the pretty "Sparkling Conversation!" I was going to remark on the embossing but it is the glass bead gel that gives that sparkle. It's really lovely.
Response: Glass bead gel is my latest favorite craft product. I'd smear it on the walls if it wasn't so expensive. LOL! Thanks so much for the rating :-)
LizzyJo rated for N&T~ Stab a Leaf on Oct 17, 2020
Comment: I love my leaf! It's beautiful. The beaded edging is awesome. (How did you do that?) The background felt does look familiar. I hung the leaf on my fake ficus tree so I can admire it. I like your calendar page envie, too. I want to do something with the Halloween barn. Thanks for providing me with an exceptional Happy Mail day! I love getting swaps from you.
Response: You got your ornament quickly! Yay! That felt looks like suede, doesn't it? If I remember right, the beaded edge is a blanket stitch with a bead dropped on at the beginning of each stitch series. I'm really glad you like it! Thanks for another fun swap 💚

Response: Doesn't it look awesome? Breakfast with giraffes. Right up my alley. I'll let you know if I ever run across a bargain trip package to Kenya. LOL. Thanks for the rating. Happy swapping :-)
