Quote for 2020 "Be calm, be kind, be safe." -- Dr. Bonnie Henry
Quote for 2019 "Be generous with your love & time. Life is usually chaotic and rarely fair."
Quote for 2018: "Make Something Everyday!"
I am a maker with a vulnerability to boredom. I have to try to make and do different things all the time. Rearrange the furniture, try a new type of cuisine, learn a new skill - I just need to mix it up.
I am an advocate for making, creating and doing in any form. This makes me sound prolific and energetic but I am not as productive as I would like :)
I am very happy to have found this site! When I joined up it was all about getting enough ratings to swap ATCs and other art forms. Through swapbot, I have been introduced to minizines which are amazing. I have been happily distracted by washi tape and postage stamp swaps. Also, homemade envelope swaps are an unexpected favourite, as well as, all the journal tidbits. I am happy to have discovered those with a love of poetry. There is so much creativity out there!
I live on the west coast of Canada, with an orange marmalade cat and my darling husband.
I work in a small, public library. Despite what people think, working in a library is about helping people and not so much about reading.
The property I share sports two cherry trees, three apple trees, a plum tree and a pear tree. Fruit bushes include raspberry, gooseberry and red currant. Strawberries and blueberries also have their place. We have three grape vines, two of which have just started producing fruit. A lot of fruit! I really like putting food by (salsa is my favourite preserve to make) and plan to expand my efforts from juicing, drying and canning to freezer preservation and pressure canning.
As far as meals, I like experimenting with flavours and do not stick to a recipe for long.
I have no discernible sweet tooth.

It's hard to imagine not being pleased with swaps. I am pretty flexible as long as it meets the criteria laid out by the coordinator. That being said, if you have the option and you would like to make something yourself, go for it! I love seeing what other people do/create/make.
Here are some themes which may help if you are looking for extra inspiration!
~ sushi ~ black and white ~ stationary ~ fine tipped pens ~ journal ~ fondue ~ postage stamps ~ sewing notions ~ botanical ~ nuts ~ photography ~ Brothers Grimm fairy tales or other folk tales ~
Again if what you are sending meets the criteria of the swap, I will be happy.
Unless I randomly join a food swap, please do not send me any food items, even tea.
I tend to the fantastical: "The Fall" directed by Tarsem Singh (2006) and "Pan's Labyrinth" directed by Guillermo del Toro (2006) are two of my favorites.
I read "What is Left the Daughter" by Howard Norman annually. "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordan" by Stephen King is becoming a re-read.
I tend to like the darker series. Walking Dead ~ Ozark ~ Killing Eve
Whether the guilt is justified or not.
~ lining my baking and roasting trays with parchment paper so I don't have to scrub ~ needing silence and solitude ~ watching too much YouTube ~ not doing yoga or really anything physical in the winter
