About Me

hello rate

Hi everyone!

My name is Julia, I'm 28 and from Maryland in the US. I graduated from college in Philadelphia and moved to El Paso, Texas in August 2015. I was a paralegal at a nonprofit where I worked with undocumented immigrant victims of crime in the border region. I moved back to Maryland in March 2019 and worked as an account manager at an e-commerce startup. I am now a full-time reseller.

I got my degree in linguistics and Spanish with minors in English and Latin American studies.

I will ALWAYS send out what I signed up to! If you do not receive my package please let me know and I will happily resend!

I am not specific or picky about what I receive, but here are some of my favorite things if you want some ideas:

  • used stamps (my favorite thing to receive! I'm working on adding my collection to an album)
  • cacti (I have a cactus tattoo!)
  • horoscopes/astrology (also have an aries tattoo)
  • Halloween
  • anything fall/autumn-related
  • anything cute-scary

  • stickers

  • anything about language/communication
  • postcards (any type!)
  • moon/stars/planets
  • ghosts/spirits/paranormal
  • Ouija boards
  • Dia de Muertos
  • ephemera
  • antiques
  • baseball
  • lucky cats
  • valentines
  • flags
  • Sanrio characters
  • Moomin
  • Krtek
  • Cheburashka
  • chocolate

I have recently gotten really into creating my own envelopes! I think there is something so awesome and special about receiving something in a colorful and unique handmade envelope.

I like old, used, beat up, and weird things. If you have something that you think is completely out there and no one could possibly like it, chances are I will love it.

I would love to receive any stamps that you have no use for or are going to throw away, even if the swap has nothing to do with stamps.

Currently looking to make some new snail mail friends. Let me know if you want to be pen pals!

Thank you in advance for swapping!

Comment: Belated thank you for the fun Life cereal card -- it reminds me of my love of puzzles and Sherlock, late nights in school eating cereal as a snack, and that disastrous episode of Mad Men in which a drunken post-Clio Awards victory Don Draper steals a tagline for Life Cereal ("the cure for the common breakfast") from one of his underlings -- and adorable stickers, washi, rubber stamped images (especially that heart-flanked "Airmail"), colorful inks, and pretty avian postage! Hope you are staying warm; it's been in the mid-50s here, which I love, but my kitties do not :p

Comment: I love your board! Some of them crack me up - "Mom wants a Colt .45 for Christmas," and the baby telling its mom to smoke. Oh my! But that's they way things used to be - nothing was ever "that dangerous!" And I actually used that Rayban image on an ATC a few years ago! Thanks so much for sharing!

Thank you for the Elvis PC from your Elvis Card RAK. I loved the decorating, too! Such complete buy in to the era's kitsch... I thought when we visited Graceland that Elvis was a fellow that knew how to have fun, and I could imagine spending new found wealth much the same way he did.

Hey Julia! What part of MD are you from? We were so happy when we lived there - Montgomery Village/Gaithersburg - but when my oldest son moved out, I could no longer afford to live there ;-( I really do miss it! We live in PA now - grew up here but really want to live in New Orleans. I want to teach ESL and hope to do that next year after I graduate in Dec. Your job sounds like something I would enjoy doing. I love learning languages and learned Russian when I was in the Army. I sure do miss Mad Men!! Jon Hamm is AMAZING! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that Scott Pilgrim movie!! And I love Sanrio - hope to go to Tokyo someday - and making envies out of old calendars. Hope we are swap partners again someday! Cheers, Theresa

Hey hey! Zindelo here with the quick-friendly-profile-comment business. Hope you're having a nice day!

I really like how you've decorated your profile, and I especially like those cute wee cacti you have lined up. What kind of cactus do you have on your tattoo? I have a real soft spot for the prickly darlings too.

Have you ever watched the Japanese "Ringu"? The one the American one was based on. I definitely prefer it, the suspense they create is amazing. My partner and I have clashing taste in scary movies, because he likes gore-fest things like Saw, and if I'm watching a scary movie I want it to be creepy and suspenseful like Ringu... I don't find his movies scary and he finds mine too scary, ha ha!

Also, I'm with you on the weird old random things. My favourite bit of ephemera to find is shopping lists, especially if none of the list seem related to anything else. Makes you wonder what they were buying it all for, you know?

Anyway, wishing you luck and smiles!

Hello! I love postcards as well :) I've got over 600 at the moment! My mum collects stamps - she has for years! Do you collect stamps from all over the world?
