i am watching for now but i dont know what snail mail is! what is the difference between snail mail and email and how would i go about doing it? i love these swaps but never done snail mail!

damilola 11/ 8/2011 #

Snail mail means it is send by post, in an eenvie with a stamp on it. Email is the electronic way of sending something.

mulletwing 11/ 8/2011 #

This seems really fun, I was hoping for a snail mail version :) I've got to start answering questions now! (and #88 had me laughing ;p)

sammybongo 11/ 8/2011 #

yay

Wizzer 11/ 8/2011 #

Do you have to write the question first then answer it or just put down your answer with the number beside it?

Laylaaaface 11/ 9/2011 #

I think it makes more sense to write out the question in full, as it means your partner knows what question you're answering.

BerlinGeorgia 11/11/2011 #

Layla, is it a requirement to write out the questions?

Laylaaaface 11/11/2011 #

I have not made it a requirement to write out the questions, so you cannot be given a three if you don't write them!

Fenix825 11/11/2011 #

How fun! I already wrote my questions out in a mini composition book so that way I can answer them as I wish. Then I get to decorate it after! Yay!

costcogal07 11/11/2011 #

hmmm that sounds like a good idea Fenix thanks!

thecosmickid 11/11/2011 #

Can we type the questions and answers and print them out for our partners or should it all be handwritten? thanks!

Jenann82 11/12/2011 #

the cosmickid ther description says you can type or hand write them.

Jenann82 11/12/2011 #

Sorry about the bold print. Don't know how that happened. I was just trying to be helpful and it now looks like I was being mean and bossy. That was not my intention.

junieandj 11/12/2011 #

The way it's written I am unsure if it has to be in a journal or if it can be handwritten on paper?

taoiionam 11/13/2011 #

I'm sorry, but if it's not handwritten, I don't see the point in sending it through snail mail... I hope my partner doesn't type it...

Laylaaaface 11/13/2011 #

Sorry, re-reading my description, it isn't very clear haha!
I am writing mine in a journal, but you don't have to, paper is fine!
I'm leaving the format up to the individual, because I think the less restricting the instructions are, the more fun you can have :)

fatheadzo 11/14/2011 #

nooo, i spend quite some time writing the questions and answers in a notebook! i would hope my partner does the same too:( just like @taoiionam said, there's really no point printing a hardcopy of your typeout! it's like trying to cheat off a type 3 swap imo

carolynne99 11/14/2011 #

How would I ans # 1 if I dont have a itune/media player Carolynne

milozclaudia 11/14/2011 #

hey, thats a cute idea to answer the questions in a mini journal! I will join this swap. cant wait to start writting!

fatheadzo 11/14/2011 #

@carolynne99 you could always turn on the radio, or i just shuffled the songs in my phone(: or you could use your friends one:D

NurseKelly 11/14/2011 #

If you write this on paper, how is it a type 3 swap? (watching by the way)

damilola 11/15/2011 #

Type 1: Electronic - internet-based swaps, email, messages, links, digital photography, etc. Type 2: Flat mail - postcards, letters, mail swaps with little, to no, craft component. Type 3: Crafts & Packages - any time-intensive craft swaps, any swaps sent in packages, most swaps will fall in this category.

I think it is type 3 coz it is time intensive and sent in a package ! This category isnt only for craft swaps. It is more than the letter in type 2. Hope that answers your question !?

bugsmama 11/16/2011 #

Some of these questions are absolutely fun to answer and some of them are pretty personal. As I was just writing the questions earlier (I need.... okay want... to buy colorful pens for the answers)..... I was thinking about how I was going to answer some of them. And it's almost like writing a journal with some!

And quick question. Some of these questions really only need a yes/no type of answer.... do we leave them simple and short or do we explain??

renmagpie 11/16/2011 #

I think they should all have explanations. What's the point of sending a Y/N format? You don't learn much that way! IMO.

sweetlady9783 11/16/2011 #

I am having a lot of fun answering these. I am on question 70 now. I am dishing a lot of things in here, lol. I hope my partner likes it!! :)

Laylaaaface 11/16/2011 #

@thecosmickid - I think it would be much nicer if you were to hand write your answers :)

@carolynne99 and anyone who doesnt have a media player - just tell us 6 of your favourite songs!

@NurseKelly - its type 3 because it is a lot more time and effort intensive than just writing a letter

@bugsmama - Definitley give an explanation, your partners will learn so much more about you, and you will learn a lot more about them!

I hope this helps!

NurseKelly 11/16/2011 #

I just ended up copying all of them into a small journal one night when I couldn't sleep. I'm taking my mother to the hospital for some tests on Monday, I'll use that time to answer them all. :)

damilola 11/17/2011 #

I love my answers hand written ! Typed is too random ssince it is a snail mail swap.

Taateli 11/17/2011 #

I wish so much I could participate, but I'm a newbie. :(

costcogal07 11/18/2011 #

I am going to start on this tonight!!!!

bugsmama 11/19/2011 #

This is the number one popular swap!! Just thought I'd mention that :)

And this is intense answering some of these questions! I wonder if we could start a "journal" swap answering these questions in a notebook...... It would be fun to pass them along and get more people's answers :)

beijltje 11/20/2011 #

Awesome!!! Already having fun reading the questions, will do my best on the answers (handwritten!!).

Adlpated 11/20/2011 #

I'm doing it in a little Moleskine notebook - one question per page. Most don't fill up the whole page, but I'm trying to be as thoughtful and detailed as possible. I hope my partner will do the same....

snapcrackleomg 11/20/2011 #

I'm watching this swap for now, since I am unsure of your definition of newbie.

Laylaaaface 11/21/2011 #

I have been checking out participants when they are joining to make sure everyone will follow through, but if anyone see anyone known to be a flaker, please let me know!

nana713 11/21/2011 #

Just saw how many people have joined... This is gonna be soooo awesome!!!!

Clearbrite 11/21/2011 #

So glad I could join this swap in time! Sounds & looks like fun:0) I'm also going to try find a nice notebook to write the questions/answers in. Fingers crossed my swap partner does the same:0) Have fun!! Kind regards

Clare Cambridge Gardens NSW Australia

spiritcharmer 11/22/2011 #

I have enjoyed this so much! I started mine when I first joined and finished it last night, cant wait to send. I hope my partner enjoys it as much as I enjoyed doing it, I hope everyone has a great day and look forward to seeing what my partner has answered! :)

mekho 11/22/2011 #

can i copy-paste the questions, print them out, and write the answers?

daarhon 11/23/2011 #

I hope my partner will not rate me low for my bad grammar :))

Clearbrite 11/23/2011 #

When do we get our swap partner? Or didn't I get in? A shame if I didn't. Was looking forward to it plus bought the notebook today..

taoiionam 11/23/2011 #

uhm, I guess the host still needs to go through the list and kick some people out or at least check whether there are some questionable swappers, that's why it can take longer to assign partners... you should get a mail saying 'it's time to start swapping' when partners are assigned...

Clearbrite 11/23/2011 #

Thanks:0) Can only wait and seefingers crossed

Laylaaaface 11/23/2011 #

Hi everyone, I'm currently stuck at work, so partners will be assigned as soon as I get home?
Sorry for the hold up!

Laylaaaface 11/23/2011 #

@bugsmama If you wish to start a journal swap for this, go ahead!

@daarhon good grammar was not part of the swap requirements, so I think you're safe! haha!

@Clearbrite Partners are now assigned :) happy swapping!

costcogal07 11/23/2011 #

thanks!!! i put the address on the envie and will mail this out friday morning!

bugsmama 12/ 4/2011 #

I've got it all ready to go! Just gotta take it tomorrow to the post office (as well as a couple other items!)

ilona 12/ 5/2011 #

I'm almost done with mine. I think mt swap partner is going to flip for joy when she sees it... well I hope she will. I made all kinds of pockets and flaps and bright colors... it looks very cool. :)

taoiionam 12/ 8/2011 #

@ilona I'd love to see some of it ^^ Maybe you can show some parts not written on ^^

anicka22 12/12/2011 #

Missed this swap, sounds awesome :( Hope there will come another round...

BonJovigirl 12/18/2011 #

Sorry for the Delay I sent it but forgot to click sent... :) Please forgive me.. Thank you

bugsmama 12/19/2011 #

Could we do a "100 questions snail mail #2"???? I'd love to do another one :)

or is there another one and I'm just not seeing it?

Laylaaaface 12/19/2011 #

I will be posting another one in the next few days!!

Also I have extended the send by date to allow a few people to work out some kinks.

bugsmama 12/19/2011 #

Okay! I loved doing it and because some of the questions are "here and now" questions I think it will be fun to do it again :)

I would love to start a journal of 100 questions....... But I don't really wanna lose another journal :(

pibster 12/21/2011 #

I confess, I don't really understand having no love for the type-written answers. I get that folks think it's lovely if someone takes the time to write something out - I think that's awesome, too. But for someone one like me, recent wrist surgery has ruled out extensive amounts of hand-writing for quite some time. I imagine it's also difficult for others who may have arthritis or other issues going on. I'd be kind of sad if I was relegated to email-only swaps. I vastly prefer sending and receiving things via snail mail.

I guess I'm really more interested in what someone has to say. Isn't that kind of the whole point? I also like the idea of folks (including me) being able to go back and edit things they've written, add details to answers, etc. That can be hard to do if it's hand-written.

I dunno - I guess I was just kind of surprised to see such a negative reaction to typed answers. To me it doesn't matter one bit - I just want to know what my partner thinks and feels about things, that's all. However they want to present it is totally fine with me.

Just my 2 cents.

thegypsie 12/27/2011 #

@pibster I have carpal tunnel so I am with you there. If my hand feels up to it I will write. And if it is not up to par then typed is the way I go. Also, @Lylaaaface I noticed there is a suspended user in this swap and a few users that have not logged in for quite some time. Looks like you may need some angels and if you do keep me posted. I hand wrote my typed answers that I sent my partner but I kept a copy so if you need any angeling to be done please let me know. I would be more than happy to send to those who will be with out otherwise. =^.^=

TraySeeH 12/28/2011 #

Why does the send by date keep changing on this swap? Someone already asked this, but it was deleted. Looking for answers.

Mikka 12/29/2011 #

I also have a spare copy of my answers (long story) in a journal. So if anyone needs an angel for this swap send me a PM!! And I will angel.

renmagpie 12/30/2011 #

@TraySeeH - That's a good question. I had already sent and received mine, but when I saw this, I had to come back to re-rate the coordinator. Changing a swap date once, with an good explanation, is OK (IMO) but three times?? I worked hard to get mine out on time and I'm sure a lot of those who have already sent did as well.

Paige1900 12/30/2011 #

This host is changing the dates to this swap because she has NOT sent her swap out. This will allow her to send late and not be able to be rated a 1. This is clearly abusing the system.

In addition this host is also late on another swap. I am sure this comment will be deleted, but I hope some newbies read it before it is.

pibster 01/ 2/2012 #

Since my answers are also typed, I'm happy to angel if needed! Feel free to drop me a PM. :)

Clearbrite 01/10/2012 #

Sent mine on time and heard from my swap partner that she sent hers too but seems we both still haven't received the notebooks yet! Hope the mail systems hurry up and deliver it safe and sound! Can't wait to get it!

Clearbrite 01/10/2012 #

Even though a little worrying in the length of time taking on both ends to get here & there..

Fenix825 02/ 1/2012 #

I can angel this swap if need be....I have my answers typed out since I had to re-do it because my first send didn't go out.

Fenix825 02/ 1/2012 #
