My special RAK involves making cheerful greeting cards to donate to a charity that forwards them to seniors in nursing homes and on meals on wheels programs. I am currently working on a shipment that will be going out soon.

Forgot to list some other ways to RAK. Letting someone go ahead of you in line, shoveling a neighbor’s sidewalk, paying a compliment, giving someone a smile. I’m going to pay a compliment to someone next chance I get.

My favorite RAKs to do are create little cards with motivational sayings on them and place them in random places to brighten someone’s day. I also like to make simple earrings to give away for no reason. My students are currently working on painted rocks to put different areas.

Something special I like to do is make random small gift baskets for friends/family of even their friends or family for get well, congrats, thinking of you, or just because. The next thing I plan on doing is actually with my Mom, we are planting a flower garden for an elderly neighbor who is now housebound, she adores flowers and sitting in her yard😊🌺💐, I am super excited about it, she is going to visit her son and his family and we are doing it then.

My favorite RAK is just saying hello to people and holding open doors, or otherwise being useful when possible (carrying bags, etc). My next RAK will be hosting a giveaway on swap-bot for a small flat rate box of goodies.

A few RAK to do vist a nursing home especially with children or animals which they love but really just a vist is the world to them. Clean your local park ( one thing my kids and I are doing this coming weekend along with art abandonment with several of our monthly projects).Donate school supplies to local schools alot of kids have none and teachers spend their money to buy them. Volunteer at a local animal shelter along with donating food/toys/ old blankets ect. Pay for someones meal/coffee behind you at a drive thru.Or just destash your home of whatever you have an abundance of (craft supplies /clothes/ books / toys ect) and donate somewhere. I could list so many Lol but will leave some for everyone else.

I like to paint rocks and leave them for people to find, I hope it brings a smile to their face! Another, is if you are mowing your lawn, you mow your neighbor's too, the lawns here are quite small so it's just a few more minutes to do. Giving a nice treat to your mail people, trash people, etc. I do mail RAK, where I keep the return addresses of people who have sent things to me or swapped to me, etc, and send them happy mail! That's what i'm going to send out next :)

I send out RAKs on a monthy basis by sending cards and homemade gifts to family and friends. Around the holidays I also send cards to my doctors which make them very happy. My next RAKs I plan to do is making crocheted coasters to two friends,

My yearlong RAK is sending letters or postcards to everyone who posts on the Bloggess website about needing some encouragement. Right now there is over a thousand, but I am determined that EVERYONE will receive something! Things people could do: Leave little notes inside books in libraries or bookstores. Or even money (would love to find that inside a book lol). An oldie but good one: Hold the door open for someone at a shop! Or let someone out in traffic!

I’m going to a crafty event tomorrow. I’m bringing plant pots, herb seeds and baby succulent plants for everyone. Just cuz. As far as I know, I’m the only one bringing something for everyone.

I love to do random bits of kindness whenever possible (it's always possible!) My favorites are to compliment people sincerely, volunteer as often as possible (I'm going to be a SMART reader for a grade school student starting in autumn), smiling and wishing people well whenever I go out, helping others if at all possible (I usually buy something extra food wise if I see any homeless at a store/restaurant I'm going in to), give small/thoughtful gifts at every chance (even just a handmade card can pick my mum up), help people if they seem lost on public transit, try to limit negative thoughts or judgement of others, and to always ALWAYS just be as kind as possible and willing to help however I can.

faeriemail 04/26/2019 #

Whoops! Forgot to post the rest of my comment ⤴️⤴️ !! My next act of kindness will be to take over the household and do all of the chores, etc tomorrow since it will be my mum's Sabbath.

When I do RAK It is usually to Stamps for the wounded as I have a lot of used stamps. I also love to gift surprise goodies to my partners sometimes if they send something very special for a swap. I love to trade with people too, for things they may need that I might have. I also love making journals and sending them to pen pals for fun. Would love to start giving away more RAKs when I have more time. I think my next one will be giving away used stamps to someone who collects.Thank you!

A RAK that I like is to really notice things about people and leave them small surprises according to their favorite likes. No name, just a fun surprise on their desk at work. The next RAK I will probably do is to pay someone a genuine and nice compliment to make their day a little more bright and special.

EleniWalker 04/27/2019 #

Ways to do RAK's for me would include letters to people who least expect it with as well as including small gifts, notes in public places to people who least expect it and just being generally nice with a touch of randomness to it.

EleniWalker 04/27/2019 #

^^^^^ sorry... The next one I plan on doing next is including extras in my letters.

Wingy 04/27/2019 #

My RAK is sending coupons out weekly to members of a book club. My local RAK is randomly giving people $10 or $20 so that they can go have a coffee.

Wingy 04/27/2019 #

Ooops my next RAK is sending out seeds to people to plant this spring n summer.

AliCrafter 04/27/2019 #

I rent a room in a house so my RAK's usually involve doing something for them like washing their dishes, picking up after their animals, weeding their yard, cleaning their bathroom, etc. Like many others here on the comments, I send happy mail randomly, love to reciprocate a swap unexpectedly, send surprises to my sister who is dealing with breast cancer, always hold open doors, and allow cars in whenever possible. Anyone of these could be my next RAK. Since it's random, I don't know exactly what it will be!

CreativeCitrine 04/27/2019 #

My RAKS are usually giving vegetables and food that I have extra to my neighbors and friends, giving food or money to the homeless here, helping out strangers at stores and I really like to send random notes to people. My next RAK is going to be sending some people I've swapped with some goodies from my destash without them expecting it.

Zefaniya 04/28/2019 #

My RAK (although I kind of dont know that it falls under this) is writing to deployed Soldiers & sending them cards. I have a huge heart for our Veterans. Thanks everyone for participating! I may do this type of swap again in the future! :)

Wingy 04/28/2019 #

The partner I have to rate has not posted her RAK info

faeriemail 04/28/2019 #

@wingy mine hasn't either but I think they have until the send by deadline to do so

StwbyQT 04/28/2019 #

My RAKs are opening up doors for strangers (especially when their hands are full), sharing goodies or food with someone I know could use it, sending surprises occasionally to friend or people I know who are struggling for one reason or another, sending care packages to deployed military folk.

My next RAK will be to send happy mail/sympathy to a friend who just lost her mother.
