I live in Alaska. My husband and I have a blended family, his, mine and ours. Most of our children are grown and out of the house. We have 6 grandchildren.

I am not one to mourn the loss of a celebrity. But I have been known to cry over the circumstance of a homeless person, a child, addict... I find human tragedy touches me far more.

I love repurposing. Be it used items or people. I love finding potential and maybe offering a spark. I don't believe anyone is a lost cause, some just aren't willing to do the work. I speak from personal experience.

I must confess to a love of hosting parties. I love inviting people over. I host Sunday dinners for family and friends all school year. I have a cookie decorating party for the kids. This year I even had the grands and friends over to makes pocket letters for their other grandmas. But my favorite are our Steampunk parties, the fancy dress, company, games. New Years is always a Murder. Soo much fun.

My musical tastes are a bit all over. Currently I am enjoying Gin Wigmore, Abney Park, Caro Emerald, and Imelda May. I also enjoy classic big band and Christian music.

Currently I am binging on Agents of the SHIELD. But honestly waiting for new season of Jessica Jones to come out, some of the best written tv I have ever enjoyed.

I knit, crochet, sew costumes. I am dabbling in learning paper crafts and have made some jewelry. I love the creative process and really enjoy gifting my items. I really like steampunk or 70's funk asthetic.

I love being over 40, I don't feel afraid as much. I have way more freedom to try new things and put myself out there.

I am part of an improv duo. I have also best cast in my first Shakespeare play ever. Very excited about this, cross one thing off my bucket list.

I really love vintage and steampunk. The texture combinations are so inspiring. Gears, lace, silk, muslin... I could go on and on. It is a huge embracing aesthetic. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is steampunk and full of color, so it isn't limited but Anything but ones own imagination.

But I also get excited about retro items. There is something fun about the graphics and lines of the 60&70's. The 30&40's gave femininity strength.

I like to make my own herbal remedies. I scour, harvest and dry my herbs. I order what cannot be harvested and drive my husband nuts with my concoctions. I also keep an array of essential oils on hand.

I love cooking and baking. Especially adding new flavors and the unexpected. This year all my cookies have been infused with tea. My chocolate cake has cayenne. I love this time of year, soup is the thing. And soup lends itself to so much experimentation.

I am very strong in my faith, and strive to live according to Christs teachings. The most important being to love without reservation or judgement. I have to admit I am still struggling with the "visit me in prison" but I am working on it.

Politics, both parties set my teeth on edge.
