About Me

I live in the historical district of my town. I love gardening and photographing all the interesting things that happen in my yard. I grow vegetables, herbs, and beautiful flowers on my small piece of heaven. Because there are so many big trees around my area, there are a number of wonderful birds that visit my feeders each day. I'm also fortunate that I live close to a national wildlife refuge where birds migrate through on their way to warmer climes and fruity cocktails!

I love anything bird related. I especially like ATC's, postcards and mixed media art that use birds in them.

Actually, I love anything nature related. Flowers, birds, nests, trees, feathers, eggs, sea-shells, rocks, animal skulls and bones bleached by the sun ...

My favorite holiday is Dia de los Muertas. I love all the shrines and alters, and of course the great picnic food that is made to celebrate the dead.

I love books and great writing!

I love photography: my favorite photographers are Annie Lebovitz and Diane Arbus.

I love mindless T.V. and also some reality T.V. like The Amazing Race. Oh wait, reality T.V. is mindless T.V.

Comment: Wow Julie! It was such a pleasure to receive your package! I absolutely loved everything. It was weird, but I have a similar bird figurine that is the same size of a canary. A distant aunt gave it to me, because it had belonged to my great grandmother. I think that little bird was meant to be mine! I loved the little button flowers, pins and the box and atc are just adorable!!!!

Comment: Julie, thanks so much for the gorgeous buttons! My favorite is either the little green one with the "details" or the 30s one which is yellow and black. The Mickey one is whimsical, too. Very special package, with a book recommendation, as well. Our library has the one you're looking for (in large print). You could try to get it on Interlibrary Loan from your local library. Comment: Thanks for the bird--cleverly done! And thanks for asking about the bees; all the hives seem to be doing fine these days (knock on wood) as they pack in their honey for the winter. And there will be another cento swap in the autumn, I think, so maybe you'll give it a try then? (It was fun and low-stress and yielded very interesting results, I thought.)
