"Whatever you are, try to be a good one." - William Makepeace Thackeray
I was born and raised in the beautiful and mountainous western Maine. I am humbled by the majestic natural beauty of the land that is my home.
While so many other people are blaming 2020 for everything they don't like in their lives, I have greatly benefitted from having my world derailed from its axis. I have learned so much about myself and my values and feel enriched because of it. I have a better understanding now of what actually is important: things like meaningful connections, relationships, social responsibility... This has helped me care for myself much better and cleared my mind so I could make necessary changes.
I'm in between jobs for now, hoping to be able to take the time I need to decompress from having done one thing for so long before jumping into another career. But I am excited to know that something else is on the horizon for me.
I strive to be an approachable person. If I have an issue, I am not afraid to address it in professional and rational way. I would like to be treated the same way. If we don't go right to the source when there is an issue, we cannot expect any change or progress. I appreciate constructive criticism and opportunities to grow. Please, if you have an issue with anything I may or may not have done, please allow me the opportunity to make it right before you give me a bad rating. I will do the same for my partners.
a non-exhaustive list of bands/musicians whose music I love: Air, Beth Orton, G. Love and Special Sauce, Zero7, Groove Armada, Wax Tailor, Tori Amos, Boards of Canada, Fun-Lovin Criminals, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bob Dylan, Shawn Lee, Johnny Cash, Rancid, Jurassic 5, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Bill Withers, the Flaming Lips, Social Distortion, Cake, Lemon Jelly, William Orbit, Four Tet, the Postal Service, Beck...
I haven't been a huge reader in recent years but with more free time than I've had, I've been slowly picking up books and reading them. I enjoy mainly non-fiction (true crime, social issues, biographies, autobiographies, memoirs) but I also enjoy dystopian tales (like 1984, Fahrenheit 451, Animal Farm, The Giver, etc).
I am entirely in love with decos and slams. I have been swapping slams for over 20 years and decos off and on for about 15. I feel a pull from my soul to work on decos/collage on a regular basis. Just how I envy a lot of my dancer friends who move and dance daily, that pull they have for dance is what I feel for deco. I wish I had that same pull to dance like they do. Pre-COVID, I was an up-and-coming burlesque performer and had been a performance dancer since 2018.
Decos, Slams, Bags, Lyrix (if they still exist...)
I'm possibly open to swapping books.
I love to receive stickers but am not a fan of swapping them.
I take great pride in my artwork. Everything I make will be of good quality and prefer the same in return.
