About Me

I am a retired Realtor that enjoys spending time with my 3 fur-kids, a Yorkie, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a big fat Persian cat. The rest of the time I spend with my beautiful Grandbabies and knitting. I also dabble in a little scrapbooking! I love things that make the house...or me...smell good. Since retiring I have gotten back into cooking and watch food network a lot. I like unusual kitchen gadgets, fridge magnets,etc. I'm obsessed with anything to do with knitting...yarn, stitch markers, needles, patterns, bags, books...seriously I love ANYTHING knitting related! In yarns I lean toward natural fibers or natural blends. Don't care much for the real fuzzy-novelty type stuff. Man made fibers are ok as long as they are really soft. Hate scratchy, splity acrylic..the really cheap stuff.

Fine Point sharpies - any color

Gel pens & highlighter pens - any color

Small soaps - I have a huge soap jar with soaps from hotels all over the place and unique soaps in the bathroom.

Scrapbook adhesives - I never have enough

Scrapbook embellishments

Candles and things that make the house smell good

Bath and body goodies - pretty much any scent except musk

Whimsey jars - never seen one in person but they sound so neat!

I love "saga" type books written in series. No sci-fi please...anything else is ok.

Hand knitted items - I knit for other people all the time but would love to have something knit by someone else!

Kitchen gadgets - I can get in real trouble at Pampered Chef parties :-)

Cookbooks - I collect them and love trying new dishes

Fridge magnets - I have 7 grandkids and LOTS of artwork to hang :-)

Tote bags - Just no velcro closures, please...they snag my yarn

Miniatures - Pretty much any kind. I built a 6 room dollhouse years ago and still like to put new things in there.

Address or return address labels - I like to enter sweepstakes occasionally too

Decorated envies

Picture frames - with 7 grandkids I never have enough of those either

Coffees and flavored coffee creamers....love, love!

Anything related to knitting....seriously ANYTHING except cheapo yarn

Cds by top twelve American Idol contestants...cheesy, I know....but am trying to collect them all. I currently have ones by Kimberly Locke, Bucky Covington, Taylor Hicks,Clay Aiken (Thousand Different Ways),Kelly Clarkson (Thankful),Kellie Pickler (Small Town Girl),Daughtry, and Katherine McPhee. Had more but some jerk stole them from my car!

Arts & crafts stuff for my grand kids to do while visiting...glitter glue pens, watercolors, paper, buttons, glue and glue sticks, crayons...pretty much anything!

THINGS I DISLIKE

Not much I don't like except cheap yarn (stuff from the major chain type stores) and novelty or fuzzy type stuff...just not my cup of tea!

Comment: Yay! I must say this is the absolute BEST swap I've ever received! Thank you so much Carolyn for all the extras you sent along with the cute stitch markers. All of them were cute, Christmas tree & snowman, purse & shoe, and the two navy and white pair. You were very generous with the extas :), shower gel and lotion, fancy recipe card, glue dots, (3) embroidery flosses, chocolate brown gift bag that held everything & the flower-shaped sticky pad. Plus your card was very cute too! If only I could give you tons of hearts for this swap I would!!! :) Christine

Comment: Dear Carolyn, I do like the yarn a lot. It´sso soft and feels cozy. Can´t wait to knit socks out of it. The notepad for the fridge is perfect. Mine just ran out of papers and now I have one again! I will try the tea on the weekend with a nice crossaint. And the buttons are cool, I can use them in the future when I knit something for kids. Comment: Thank you very much. I liked the cards, but wasn't so keen on the very strong smell of smoke. (sorry, but I have a smoke allergy)
Response: Wow... so sorry about that. You must really be sensitive to it....we don't smoke but have occasional guests that do.
