Hi! My name is Beth, and I am in my mid-twenties. I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with my husband and our cat, Luther. I am the assistant coordinator for five child care centers around the Milwaukee area. In my free time, I knit, sing barbershop music with a chorus and a quartet, hang out with friends and family, and work out a couple of times a week. My husband and I also like to go out to open mic nights where he always plays, and I keep saying I'll sing someday.

My favorite types of music are Broadway songs, acoustic folk rock, barbershop, actually I'm pretty easy to please. Just no death metal, rap, or country.

My favorite books are murder mysteries. They're even better if they are somewhat scientific. (Yes, I love CSI.) My favorite author is Patricia Cornwell. I also love Dan Brown (The DaVinci Code, Angels and Demons). I enjoy reading books about theology. I was a religion major as well as a music major in college, so I like books on those topics. I also collect children's books.

Again, I like murder mysteries. I love a good romantic comedy. Music and Lyrics was pretty good, as was No Reservations. I enjoyed The Holiday a great deal as well. I'm a big fan of the Harry Potter movies and the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

I like CSI:, CSI:New York, Criminal Minds, Numbers and NCIS. Notice a trend here? I also enjoy How I Met Your Mother, although I worry that it will only last as long as it takes for him to meet their mother. I love cooking shows. My husband and I will stay up all night on Saturday nights just to watch the cooking shows on PBS from 1 AM to 4 AM. Not every week, mind you, but occasionally.

I am a knitter. I can do a basic crochet stitch, but other than that, I'm no good with a crochet hook. But I love my knitting. It's become an obsession almost in the last year and a half. When I'm not working or singing, chances are I'm knitting.

Being a knitter, I am usually involved in swaps that have something to do with yarn. I suppose for those of you out there trying to figure out what I like, it would help to know what my favorite colors and yarns are. I love purple and blue. But not purpley-pinks or blueish-greens. I do like green, but not greenish-blue either. Yes, I feel there is a difference between blueish-green and greenish-blue. Honestly though, just about any color other than yellow or orange will tickle my fancy in the proper medium. I adore merino and alpaca. Yes, I am aware that my tastes are expensive. Ah such is life. Wool is general is a favorite of mine as I love to felted things. Some types of acrylic are okay, but mostly I use acrylic for my charity knitting. So I hope that helps anyone out there buying yarn or colored items for me.
