CURRENT OBSESSIONS: (read only this if you have limited time) Dinosaurs! Zines! Blythe dolls! Slytherin/Snakes! Creepy dollheads! Spice Girls! Death's-head hawkmoths! Spooky fairy tales and folklore! Anything that combines the natural world with the supernatural, like a gothy cottage core vibe. I am mostly gravitating toward green colors, especially dark emerald green lately. NO CLOWN THINGS PLEASE
I love the rain, I could have it every day and not get tired of it. Except on Halloween (the only time that its kind of a bummer), which is my favorite holiday. Halloween is everything I love; spooky stories and movies, goth colour schemes and playing dress-up. Some "Halloweeny" items stay up in my house all year long. I tend to skew more purple and black as opposed to orange and black in my Halloween crafting and decor. And I snatch up any dark purple Christmas decorations I can find, but usually have to resort to making those myself.
I love fall and spring, and I don't even mind the first few weeks of snowy weather, but in Canada (Born & raised in Toronto but living an hour away now) it gets old pretty fast haha! My favorite colour changes quite often, but I'm a big fan of rich, dark colours like deep purple, royal blue and emerald green. Its just a coincidence that I look best in jewel tones! These are the main decor colours in my house aside from black and white, but I am still lacking in the green decor. I wear a lot of those colours, and a lot of velvet. I LOVE long flowy, swooshy black skirts (I'm wearing comfy gym shorts underneath...shhh!) and lots of dark lipstick. If I had to describe my style, I would call it "Auditioning to play a Victorian ghost, but has limited funds" Sometimes people think I am not friendly or not animated because of it, but once we chat they know that could not be further from the truth. I'm a silly lady who loves to laugh and to hug!
I am a HUUUGE creativity enthusiast. I keep telling my friends that I don't care if they feel that they "can't" make anything, I will love it because they tried. I love it when people try, that's my favorite thing ever. And more than a few times, it sparks a new joy and confidence in my friends that warms my heart. I'll take a macaroni frame over a gift card any day! I wish everyone would try making something at least once, but I suppose I'm preaching to the choir on this site lol.
I like different kinds of natural elements like semi-precious stones (Amethyst, ammonite fossils, agates, alexandrite, turquoise, onyx). I prefer silver toned jewelry to gold ones as I feel that my skin looks better with silver. Charms I love are celestial ones (moons, starbursts, suns) ,feathers, wings, nests, trees, birds, shells ect. (anything celebrating things found in nature). I will love any hand-made jewelry, as I am a maker myself and love to have anything that I didn't make (because I cannot justify adding to my collection myself!) Would love to get into resin jewelry, it is intriguing...
My hair is short and curly, and I usually dye it a dark color with a red or purple-y tint. I love to wear slouchy knit hats, as well as classy hair accessories (not really a fan of cutesy clips and bands) I prefer an continuous elastic-y hair band to a stiff headband, and I love the ones that incorporate a feather/natural element in it.
I love trees and forest settings. I gravitate toward historical themes (Victorian, Edwardian, Art Nouveau over Art Deco (but both are appreciated)
I take care of children in my spare time, I enjoy the chaos and never ending wonder of it. I believe in magic, I see it in them. There is a part of me that will always be a kid, and I'm proud of that. They are all ages, but the ones who have grown up a bit always come to me for help with Halloween/costume party outfits or any party decor. I love it! My favorites were a Mario themed birthday where I turned a whole house into a "Mario Party" board from the video game and a Harry Potter Murder Mystery Night. I am also the person at work who makes themed headbands for every coworker, for every holiday possible. I love how just a little time and a glue gun can make so many people smile so much!
I love love LOVE animals but currently have no pets. It's rough, but I am hoping to adopt a dog at some point soon, I just want to be really responsible and have some money saved for any emergencies we may encounter.
I have the memory of a fish, except when it comes to quotes, poetry I love, and song lyrics.
Some music I love in no particular order:
Flogging Molly, Dolly Parton, The Andrew Sisters, Spice Girls, Queen, Clutch, Emmylou Harris, Cake, Ray Lamontagne, Bjork, Fiona Apple, Eartha Kitt, Janis Joplin, Listener, Supertramp, Hole,Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Marina & the Diamonds, Johnny Cash, XrayspeX... the list just keeps going
I will read almost anything you hand to me, but I have an obsession with fairy stories. Not the cutesy ones. More of the dark fae scary stuff from Celtic folklore. When it comes to books and movies/shows, I love spooky over gore, it stays with you longer. AND I LOOOOVE EDWARD GOREY STORIES!!
I collect kids books (not weird if you work with kids!) and I like the Olivia the pig series, The Little Prince and Scaredy Squirrel, but my favorite kids book so far is Blueberry Girl by Neil Gaiman and illustrated by Charles Vess.
a random list of things I love to read over:
"Veronica Decides to Die" by Paulo Coelho "We Have Always Lived in the Castle" by Shirley Jackson "The Hidden World" and "The Witches of Willomere" series by Alison Baird "The Romance of Certain Old Clothes" by Henry James "The Wild Wood" by charles de lint
Whenever I'm not feeling well I watch old movies. My favorite old Hollywood actress is Audrey Hepburn. All of her films are amazing, but the best to me is Sabrina.
I watch a lot of kids movies since I care for children, and I must say that they have gotten better lately. I like any humor that is sharp, witty and sarcastic.
movies/shows I like:
Haunting of Hill House on netflix (have seen it 7 times!), The Jurassic Park/World movies (because dinosaurs), Derry Girls, Sense 8, The Umbrella Academy, Coraline, The Spice World Movie, Invader Zim, Home movies,The Office, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Firefly, Parks and Rec, Pushing Daisies
I'll keep adding to this list later!
I am a canvas, paper-craft and jewelry girl at heart, but I'll be taking some sewing classes when I have the time. Would love any sewing patterns, especially for older looking clothing.
I absolutely adore anything vintage or antique looking, from old milk bottle caps and postcards, to pictures of Victorian people or 40s and 50s pinup girls.
If you have old parking stubs/bus transfers and random forms from outside of Canada, I can use those too! It may seem like garbage to you but it fascinates me.
I like getting bits of ribbon or washi tape to play with.
I am interested in getting into: Trading ATCs and inchies! Learning to use a sewing machine (I hand stitch a bit) Any way to become more organized (my biggest struggle mentally and in life. Any advice would be appreciated!) I LOVE CLOTHESPINS!! Old fashion ones are my favorite because they are harder to find. I love the ones to make peg dolls too.
If I had to break it down to the bare bones, Victorian gothic, Celtic folklore, and Dark colours pretty much sums me up. But here are some other ideas:
I'm a friendly Slytherin, I like green\snake themes.
Thick Black and white stripes (like in beetlejuice)
lace, fringe and pompom trims!!!!
Anything involving dark, creepy versions of folklore (Witches, fairies, mermaids and the like)
Anything Halloween, with purple and black being my fave colour combo. Vintage witch themes are big with me too.
I love the look of blythe dolls, but since they are so rare and expensive I usually collect any pictures/scrapbooking type stuff involving them.
Speaking of dolls,I also love any "creepy doll" theme. like old, cracked, or a doll head turned into a lamp or planter. That type of thing. I would love to receive any dolls parts {eyes, hands ect) to play around with. I don't know if I am explaining it right, but I have this one Halloween doll:

My friends and I jokingly call her my "daughter" and she stays out year round. Someday I want to get a Slappy dummy from Goosebumps!
https://goosebumps.fandom.com/wiki/SlappytheDummy
So.....you know the vibes.
I wear a lot of lipstick (usually darker, cool tones), fake eyelashes and mascara and would love to try anything new. I don't wear much foundations or all over face stuff. I love a little highlight but don't do blush or bronzers as they clash with the whole "pasty ghost goth" aesthetic lol
love temporary tattoos or face crystals to jazz up a dress up moment with kids I care for. Yes I am a grown, childless woman with a dress up box haha!
Anything to mount rubber stamps on
Handmade anything.
Anything you make that incorporates natural elements like:
branches or twigs feathers acorns (!!!!!) shells pinecones other natural things, especially ones that are not found in Canada!
Also, I can not crochet or knit. I have tried.... so anything cute like Amigurumi is amazing to me. So much talent needed to do that! I live in Canada, anything warm for winter is always welcomed.
I would not like to receive anything involving clowns please, as I have a fear of them. It's the one creepy thing I am not into haha!
I hope that is enough to work with! Its long but I want to be as helpful as possible. Thanks for stopping by, and if you read this to the end, WOW!!!
