Hi! I'm from Oregon!
Update August 2017
August was a good month at work - best in a long time. Also, we did a trip to Mexico, this time crossing the border by car, and driving down the coast towards Ensenada. Seems like a lot of pen pals are taking the summer off, so alas...i've had an empty mailbox. Going to start looking for another pen pal or two.
Update July 2017
June brought more instabilty and intrigue with my work, so I'll be taking a short break from SB. If all goes well, I'll keep my job or get a better one. A good friend of mine sent me a lovely giraffe themed birthday package from overseas - feel so blessed! Haven't gotten up to the Falls yet, instead picking up extra work hours. Started fundraising for Mexico in June as well.
Update June 2017
May was better! Got in the swing of another department at work, and still another boss. Hosted a missionary friend for a couple days - very good time with him. Pen Pal holiday card - May Day & Mother's Day, floral design. Best swap - angel for a swapper in Australia - packed with color and goodies. In June, I plan to ignore my birthday, and instead hike up Multnomah Falls - a favorite spot! Looking forward to returning to Mexico in August, as well.
Some hobbies of mine are road trips, writing, and baking treats. I work full time, and am frequently "on-the-go"...busy.
Most of my time is devoted to regular pen pals both foreign and domestic. However, I do like swapping things (mostly domestic), which is why I joined swap-bot. Also, I do prefer handwritten letters if possible.
Other fun facts - I haven't been to many places, so I'm definitely interested in contrasts/comparisons of other states and countries.
Hobbies & Interests: Baking treats, alcohol infusions for gifts, Xbox Gaming. I really enjoy Skip-Bo, Cribbage, and Scrabble.
Papercrafting - not much (artsy-wise), except a lot of DIY envelopes. Recently I assembled a Portland/Trimet themed one filled with flat goodies. It's really fun for me. I also make basic envies out of assorted card stock, etc. I've also made other themed stuffed envies - pub related, donut themed one, and yet another PDX.
Swap-Bot is helping me rub shoulders with crafty people, so I'm branching out a bit.
I also treasure scenic country drives, in contrast to my partner who loves the city. I grew up in a large metro, so the country hills and hollers are a nice break.
