I am a wife and mother of six children. I have thirteen grand children. I am looking forward to being part of the swap-bot and re-orienting myself to doing some creative and nice things to send and receiving some too!
My favorite music is the sound of the waves washing up along the shore and the birds waking up first thing in the morning. But music that you could hear on itunes..hummm...my favorites (in no particular order) are...Leonard Cohen, Cousteau, Gotan Project, Rod Stewart's Great American Songbook, Little Dragon,The Rat Pack, the mixes from Cafe Del Mar, Carlos Santana, Manu Chau, Moby, Fabio Concato, Lhasa de Sela, Gabriella Roth's Bones, Chavela Vargas's La Llorona, Mana', Cusco, U2 and George Winston. So much music and so little time! I do not enjoy heavy metal and hip hop..I will listen when someone else is but not for myself.
Books are Great aren't they, endless source of entertainment and knowledge! I like so many types of books...I like books that tell me how to do anything from folding napkins to cleaning spots to planting a vegetable garden...anything really. My favorite novels lately are... The Wandering Inn series, Ready Player One, Riyria Cronicles, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series and Jackie Faber of the Bloody Jack series is such an inspiring character :-) I loved the creativity of Harry Potter. I enjoy Sci Fi mixed with magic and the completely unbelievable. My current favorite serious book is the Brain that Changes Itself. Byron Katie books are wonderful for me to hang out with and question my thoughts, Martha Beck is full of practical knowledge and advice. I read cookbooks and non cookbooks (raw food preparation) Books on prayer, books on life, health and the way things are.
I don't have much of a mind for movies and actors. I enjoy movies I just don't recall them but lets see...I like foreign films, there are quite a few beautiful movies out of China that show the culture and the country as well as a bit of their history. the King of Masks is one of these as is, Balzac and the little Chinese Seamstress. There are some wonderful movies out of Argentina too such as The Son of the Bride and 9 Queens. These movies do not necessarily have a happy ending but I really like movies that end somehow upbeat. I enjoyed Lord of the Rings and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
I don't watch television but I do watch BBC tv from Netflix. I have really enjoyed the All Things Great and Small series...The House of Elliott ...Sherlock Holmes....Foyles War...Mrs Marple, Masterpiece Theater. Love love love TED talks and YouTube.
I love paper and pens, card making, scrap booking. I have the unfortunate habit of getting things to create a great project and not carving out the time to do it... it may be a perfectionist thing. I sew, but not much, I do needle point and machine embroidery, I knit if I have to but I love thinking of yarns and stitches and what can be created with them.
Lets see...first I love black and white. I enjoy deep clear colors, as well as browns and gray. I am currently wanting to see lots of things in green, orange and hot pink. I like blues, but I never use them or create something around blues.... I am not crazy about pastels or jewel tones, but they too have their place. There are only a few colors I don't like, mauve tops the list, I think it is the most sad color in the world, I don't care for dusty pinks and blues, I have a lot of trouble using purples, I like to see them but they just don't work into my palette very well. I love to see pens in all colors and crayons (when they are new). Shelves of paper in all the colors..what could be better?
I Like interesting post cards...buildings, places, funny, inspirational, curious, insects, natural history, artsy. Not so much Disney or cute...
Paper, beautiful paper
Love lemon bars...
I like dark chocolate,
English toffee and...
Good ideas...if you have a fun or interesting tip on how to make something or do something.. scrapping, card making, crafting , home making or whatever....
I LOVE feedback, if you like what I sent or not..how do I find out how to be a better swapper.
PLEASE NO torn or bent papers, bent or torn cards and bent or torn stickers. I enjoy looking at steampunk and victorian themes but not for myself or my surroundings, I don't like small bits (less than 12 inches) of ribbon, small (less than 4 inch) bits of paper or tiny stickers. Cut out pictures from books or other publications nah..I don't have any use for them. I don't like scented candles, they make me sneeze Pretty picky about hand lotions for the same reason.

Hello Susan, just letting you know that the I - tangled ATC has arrived, but at my old address - when I updated my profile, I forgot that I had shifted house! Fortunately, my daughter still lives there and has posted it on. It will be a few days getting here. Ruth in Narrabri (Australia)
