UGH β¦ I turn 50 on the 31st of March! How did this happen?
PLEASE Remember to add the NAME of the SWAP you are SENDING. I am in several groups β¦ including ones not on SB. It makes it challenging to figure out who I should thank if there is no name of swap. I do this too once in awhile so don't feel bad:>
JESLIN HERNANDEZ β¦ from Washington β¦ I received a very nice envelope from you, but no clue what group or what swap. Please MESSAGE me:>
Just a little Pet Peeve I guess ... but my name is LoriAnn (not Lori)... I will answer to Lori, but I much prefer my real name:>
I will be 50 β¦ in March!!! Most days I do not feel this old, but where are all these silver hairs coming from? I am a SAHM, to Hannah Michelle (age 11). Hannah is a wonderful, Special Needs child who has multiple challenges, but never lets it define her. I have basically been a "Hoosier" all my life ... born and raised. I call Indianapolis home, but I am a "wanna be beach girl". DREAM BIG ... right?!
Wanna know more??? I love Pen Pals (hint ... hint)!
I welcome International Pen Pals!!!!
I love to try new types of crafts. Got something you love to do? Share it with me and maybe some supplies to get started!
I love trying different types of Media to paint. I am by far no artist. I like to Alter things!
I LOVE to make things out of left over materials. Not junkie left overs, but things you would use, but maybe just not want anymore.
I have always enjoyed Scrap Booking and Card Making. I absolutely love to make Envelopes!!! I also like enjoy doing any type of Altered Art, Journals (all types including Circle and Junk).
Since joining SB I have gotten into ROLOS and ATC's!!! I am now wanting to try FLIP BOOKS and POCKET LETTERS.
I am learning to sew and so is Hannah so we love fabric! I will gladly take useable scraps!
I also enjoy cooking and baking Γ’β¬Β¦ I have won several RECIPE CONTESTS!!! I just got a Instant Pot and love getting new recipes that others have tried. I want to learn how to can this learn. I love good bread recipes too!
In the Spring and Summer I love to work in my backyard.
I LOVE to read. I will read anything that looks or sounds interesting!
I don't really limit myself to one genre. I like to read Modern Romance, Chick-Lit, Paranormal Romance, Suspense, and Mystery. I will read some Sci-Fi and Horror as long as it is not pure "slasher" type. I am not a big fan of Historical Romance, but if you find one that is a "must" read, I will give it a try. I would like to read more of the Classics this year, that I have not read. Got a good one that you love ... suggest it please!
I can't say I have a "favorite author". I like James Patterson, Ted Dekker, Harlan Coban, Elin Hilderbrand, Lynsay Sands and so many others!
If you are a reader, I would love to hear what you like to read and some of your favorite authors. I love suggestions.
For 2012, I have challenged myself on GOOD READS and challenged myself to read through the alphabet (reading a different author for ever letter of the alphabet.) I have started a READING JOURNAL. If you are interested in a Private Swap and doing a Reading Journal together ... please message me.
"I have a love/hate relationship with e-readers. I love them because I can carry them with me. I hate them because I miss the smell and feel of a book in my hands."
I am a child of music ... my parents loved music and I have fond memories of dancing around the house with them and being exposed to music early on. I use to think my Dad was Bowzer (Sha Na Na) because of a picture of him in his younger days in a white dinner jacket and greased back hair.
I love music from the 70's up till now! I like a lot of the older one hit wonders. Think oldies ... Afternoon Delight, Pina Coloda, I'd really Love To See You Tonight. 80's and current one hit wonders are good too. I listen to almost anything, but Rap and Gospel (there's nothing wrong with it ... just not me).
If I had to pick one genre ... I guess it would be country. Old and new.
I am a big fan of Rod Stewart's Song Book make overs! Can you sexy?! Phil Collin's make overs of old songs are great too as well as his music ... the man is awesome!
The Phantom of the Opera is a really big mood music and full of memories for me.
Hawaii artists that redo American songs are GREAT! Try listening to Kolea who sings "Everything That Glitters Is Not Gold" (originally y by Dan Seals. Listen to the words and how he sings them. Try Ka'au Crater Boys and Ten Feet Under (especially Islands In the Stream).
If anyone wants to burn me cd's ... as a trade, RAOK, etc. let me know!!! I will be happy to do the same for you!
I watch a variety of tv shows. I guess I should write them all down so I can share them with you.
Colors: I'm not a color snob Γ’β¬Β¦ I like all colors. I am not a big pink person, but I don't dislike it.
I love BLK/WHITE combo, PURPLE/BLK combo and TIFFANY BLUE/BROWN combo. FOOD and BEVERAGE:
The only known allergy I have is PICKLES and TUNA ... don't see that being sent (I hope). I don't like CHERRIES, but if something cherry is sent I have two in the house that will eat.
I don't drink coffee very much anymore. Then I do it is only a Keurig Pod. I love tea and my daughter loves hot chocolate. The only tea I really don't like is Green Tea.
I would really like to try some chocolates and various candies from other countries!!! YUMMY!!! I love all types of chocolate ... white, regular, dark. Some of my favorites are KIT KATS and REESE'S ... I hear our International buddies have some really different flavors!
I also like GUM and SUCKERS!!! And Hannah will "fight me for suckers so if you find something unique for her, your sure to get a HEART!
Post Cards: We collect them to add to our "Where in the World" post card wall. If you are sending them in with another swap could you please write something interesting on the back. If it is part of a swap we prefer them naked unless the swap says otherwise.
GAME PIECES: SCRABBLE TILES, DOMINOES (any size), GAME BOARDS (can be cut down Γ’β¬Β¦ I use them for misc crafts)
Greeting Cards, Note Cards, Stationary ... I have really hard time finding stationary ... would love some that you find. Home cards and envelopes are awesome!!!
TAPE Γ’β¬Β¦ any kind Γ’β¬Β¦ left overs welcomed!!!
PENS, MARKERS, WRITING UTENSILS Γ’β¬Β¦ I love pens. It is very dangerous to let me go into a office supply place.
JOURNALS ... blank or decorated

Wishing you a safe and happy first day of winter!
HAPPY WINTER!
"I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, 'Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.'"
Love and blessings,
Your friend, Yvonne
HAPPY FALL!
"Autumn seemed to arrive suddenly that year. The morning of the first September was crisp and golden as an apple." (J.K. Rowling)
