I have been a member for almost 8 years now. I entered into the journal books and after getting flaked on in those swaps I quit doing them. I had at least 3 or 4 of them circulating. I then went to the smaller deco books because of postage cost maybe being the reason I was not getting any back. I must have about 6 deco books out there now. I have NEVER gotten a single one of my books back in all this time. I usually only have 6 to 8 pages to be done and the themes were very simple. I don't understand why people are hanging onto these because I put a lot of work into mine and would like to at least see the result of my efforts or anyone else's.
I love just about all handmade/homemade things. I like making and collecting the little matchboxes I found on Swap-bot when I first joined, they are so much fun to make and get. I also like to learn new techniques and crafts that I have not tried before. I love anything crafty or to do with crafts and sewing. I enjoy gardening and growing beautiful flowers and try to grow a few vegetables. I am a retired, 30 years plus, seamstress. I worked numerous jobs, from a factory making women's and children's clothing, sewing seat covers for Chrysler Motors and doing Military sewing for 20 years at the Selfridge Air National Guard Base. I have 4 grown children, 3 boys and 1 daughter. I have been blessed with 4 grand children, 2 boys and 2 girls. I have 1 pet. A 13 yr. old Persian.. He is my cuddle bug fur baby! Family & Pets are my first loves!
Television:
Wheel of Fortune and Dateline. I also like documentaries and true stories.
Movies:
I'm a sucker for tear jerker's and love stories. Out of Africa, Pretty Woman, Message in a bottle and Titantic to mention a few. Never get tired of the Wizard of Oz!
Music:
Good ole' Rock & Roll, hymns and Christian music (do not send), some country, some jazz and classical.
Books:
I read a lot when I am in the mood (have to be in the mood). History, Mystery, Trilogy, some True Story and Biography and, of course, all kinds of crafting books or magazines.
Color:
Shades of Lavender and purples but I am fond of all colors primary and pastels.
My Favorite Crafts:
I love:
Making envelopes
Crocheting
Sewing
Knitting
Matchbox's
Pocket Letters
Baking
ATC making
Paper Crafting
Beading
Embossing
Scrapbooking
Photography
Handmade Cards and items.
Anything handmade/homemade,
I collect the Disney and the Legends of Hollywood Stamps, McDonald's Barbie's and Madam Alexander doll toys. I save all kinds of items to make ATC's with. I have a collection of over 30 Shirley Temple Movies and some Disney Movies. I also save canceled postage stamps.
Fairy's, birds, butterflies, dragonflies, angels, baby animals, flowers or anything floral, fabric, beads and beading, lace, glitz and glamour items, Mary Engelbreit, Hello Kitty, rubber and clear stamps. I am fond of vintage photos and items. Anything for ATC's or handmade cards and crafts.
I am not a fan of pagan, goth, vampires or any satanistic based beliefs or decor. I don't care to get into any discussions of my religious beliefs or politics with others or have literature sent to me. Nothing that smells of smoke. I love jewelry but cannot wear much of it because of a metals allergy, I do wear some on ropes or ribbons but even the little clasps will cause me to break out after time.
I like all fruits and vegetables, especially fresh. I eat very little meat but I love all kinds of Lake Fish. I also like nuts, brazil and macadamia are my favorite but cannot turn any down. I like my coffee in the morning and am also a tea drinker, hot or iced, not sweet, but with a dash lemon. I can not eat any dairy since cancer surgery 14 yrs. ago left me lactose intolerant. Update: I can only have decaffeinated beverages for now (Doc's orders) because of stomach ulcer.
