(April 24, 2017) My fiance and I have moved to our new place! I have updated my address on here. If you have sent mail to my previous address, I will still receive it.
On October 3 2016, the cost of sending an international letter from Australia went up from $2.75 to $2.95. Because of this, I will be participating in less international swaps.
On February 7 2017, I was banned for a swap due to my poor rating. It was a swap that I was really looking forward to, and had started preparing. The minimum rating was 4.95. PLEASE make sure you put rating requirements very clearly in any swaps you host, and make sure you check the requirements as well as participants before assigning partners. This has really damaged my confidence in taking part in swaps.
I have a 1 on my profile dating back to 2010. Something major happened in my life, and I failed to send this swap. The user has not logged in since 2012. I have messaged them stating that if they return to swap-bot, I would love to send to make up the swap. I know that this 1 will be permanently on my profile, and I know that even though I have all 5's otherwise, this 1 will be seen as a problem to many hosts, and I will be banned from swaps. All I ask is that you read this, and send me a message before banning me. Thank you.
I do my very best to send every swap out on time. But please remember that I live in Australia! More often than not, I send swaps internationally. Please message me if you do not receive your swap within 4 weeks of the send date, as I am happy to re-send if necessary. If I have not received your item within two-four weeks of the send date of a swap, I will message you just to check if the item has been sent or not.
Also, please message me if I have not rated you for a swap! Usually it will be because I have not received it, but once in a while I may just forget to rate. Once a month I go through my Sent swaps and check for the swap, and will contact my partner if I haven't received anything.
I am 27 years old and I live with my fiance and cat. I am studying Library and Information Services at TAFE, and currently work part-time at a school library. I am engaged to a man named Shaun - we have been together for 7 years, and engaged for 3 years. We are trying to save up for a house at the moment so we can have our own space! In the meantime we are renting. I am an aunty to two cheeky boys, who light up my life, and will be an aunty again later this year.
I have tried a lot of crafty things in the past, mostly jewellery and bookmarks, but also ATCs and painting. I haven't had a lot of patience for them though! I like to do colouring in though. I especially love colouring in butterflies and feathers.
I am currently into card making and love trying different designs and ideas. Pinterest has been a huge source of inspiration! I recently bought a die-cut machine, but need the metal stencils in order to start making my own embellishments. I am very excited! If you know where I can get inspiration from, please let me know! If you would like to see the cards I have made, please feel free to visit my Facebook page: My small business (Mel's Paper Party) or my Etsy store: Mel's Paper Party
In 2017 I am doing a Charity Reading Challenge to raise money for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. This is an Australian organisation dedicated to improving the literacy of Indigenous children, particularly in remote communities. If you would like to follow me through this challenge, please like my Facebook page: My Charity Reading Challenge

I am a Bookcrosser, so if you'd like to do a private Bookcrossing swap with me, please message me so we can organise it, especially if we each have a book the other wants to read! I also have a book review blog, where I review books written by Australian authors: My book review blog
