About Me

I'm a retired teacher who loves to make books, boxes, and collages using vintage ephemera. I also love to sew with my specialties being jackets made from vintage neckties and purses. I have just started making quilts too! I just wish there were 100 hours in a day.

I have two grown kids, no grandchildren, a boxer dog and two cats. I sing in my church choir and in a Sweet Adelines chorus.

Favorite Music

A music junkie -- everything from Palestrina and Gregorian chant to Green Day and Death Cab. Not crazy about Hip Hop or Dixieland.

Favorite Books

Loved Harry Potter, but usually read history.

Favorite Movies

I can't stand watching violence, so I tend to stay away. Like epics, like old movies, like Lawrence of Arabia.

Favorite Television

Law and Order, various PBS news shows like Jim Lehrer. History Detectives. No reality shows.

Favorite Crafts

Book binding, box making, and doing collages on boxes. See my Paper Antix website for examples. And sewing. Currently quilt-making is my passion. Love counted cross stitch too.

Comment: I love the fabric you sent. Asian fabric is one of my absolute favourites and we are starting a quilt in class called Beach Glass and I am thinking to make it out of Asian fabrics or butterfly fabric so it's just perfect timing.

Response: Glad you can use the Kreiniks. Those were left over from a big project I did, and I am not really going to use those colors again. Cheers!
