About Me

Hello friend. My name is Nikola and I live in a small Southeastern European country called Bulgaria. I recently finished my bachelor's degree in International Relations and I'm currently looking for a Master's degree outside of my country. I discovered Swap-bot by randomly searching for a site that allowes mail exchanges. This is because I participated in a secret santa exchange in Reddit and found out that this sort of hobbie makes me very happy and wholesome. I also shared the site with my girlfriend who also participates in swaps. I love to travel inside my country and outside it. Inside, I've been to a lot of locations and I follow a challenge that we have in Bulgaria to visit 100+ famous landmarks and locations. At every location there is a stamp that you can put in a little book and check your progress. It's very fun and makes you go out and explore. Outside of Bulgaria, I've been to Macedonia, Serbia, Greece, Romania, Austria and Italy. I'm interested in all the countries and areas on our planet and would like to visit most of them. If you would like to share something about your country, city, town, village or area I would love to read about it :) I also love to read, watch movies, tv shows, play video games, board games, research different things I find interesting, hike in the mountains and hang out with friends.

-> Regarding Swaps: I send everything up to the deadline and I've never or will ever flake. If you have not received something, keep in mind a few things: generally it takes up to a month/a month and a half for something to reach you from my country, if it's not by Air Mail (I try to send with Air mail but sometimes I can't). This is for countries outside of Europe mainly. If you have any concerns please message me as I take pictures of everything I send (90% of the cases) and I can assure you it is sent. If you don't receive it it's either on it's way or lost. Of course, if that's the case I will resend as I have done before, no worries :)

-> Also, if you have any stamps that you don't need and you wonder what to sent me, I will be most happy to receive them and put them in my collection. I event get the stamps from envelopes despite the damage as I try to collect as much as possible from any country. Any stamps would be much appreciated from me and will guarantee you a heart rating

What I Like/Love/Enjoy

-> Please take into consideration that the following are not all things that I would like to receive or expect to. Some indeed are but with this section I'm trying to cover all of my likes and interests that I haven't in the other sections. Thank you for reading!

  • Animals - wolves and dogs are the animals that I like the most and anything related to them I will appreciate a lot :)

  • Books - I love books and anything related to them. If you send me recommendations or quotes I would be very happy. No need for any bookmarks, I have plenty.

  • Comic books - anything related to comics: from movies, merch to actual books. I love graphic novels as well, my favorite comics are from DC (Batman, Watchmen, Green Lantern). I like a bit of Marvel as well, mainly Spider-Man and X-Men.

  • Games - I loves video games since I was a child I've played mainly on a PC but I had a couple of consoles (currenty I have a PS4). My favourite game franchise is Fallout. Other games that I like are: Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3, Metro 2033, Rome: Total War, Minecraft, Hearthstone, Warcraft 3 and Frozen Throne, Diablo 2 & 3, Old School DOOM and the new games as well, God of War 1 & 2, The Wolf Among Us, The Walking Dead (Telltale), Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, The Sims 4, Mortal Kombat.

  • Lime , Coccunut, Curry and Cinnamon - favorite smells and things to eat

  • Travel related stuff - I enjoy when travelling to bring all sorts of stuff like little maps, a compass and a thermos

  • Stationary - Despite not having to use any stationary for work or study (at least not that much) I constantly buy more notebooks, pens, markers etc. It's a weird obsession, I know, but I can't help it.

  • Stickers - They are never enough even when I have a lot. I love sending/receiving stickers and also putting some on my envelopes/postcards

  • History related stuff - I'm a big history buff so if you want to share with me anything historical related with your country, it would be awesome

  • Science Fiction - books/movies/games you name it, if it's sci-fi, I probably like it ^^

  • Stamps - I started collecting stamps recently and I would love it if you send me some (no matter what kind). I can also send you stamps from my country if you would like :)

  • Food/Snacks - I eat everything with curry and curry sauce. Also I'm a fan of burgers and fried chicken (don't judge me). I LOVE trying candy or other snacks from different countries. I even subscribed to receive a Japan crate every month. If you are interested in private food swaps, PM me!

  • Tea and Coffee - my favourite tea is orange and cinnamon, also herbs tea. I don't like forest fruits tea and I'm not a fan of the Chai tea. Generally I love to try different teas from different countries so you can send me whatever tea you have that is from your country. I love coffee, any kind!

  • Washi Tape - I'm not the biggest washi tape collector but I enjoy the small amount of washi tapes I have and I always decorate my envelopes and postcards with some washi. Recently I got into a couple of washi samples swaps and I like it a lot.

  • Photos - I like receiving and sending photos. Recently I got an Instax camera and I'm still very excited about it! Usually I take photos with it or with my phone. I'm not good at it at all but I still enjoy it.

  • Recipes - I'm not the best cook but I would love to learn so if you have any recipe for something that is somewhat easy to made, feel free to share :) I can send you some traditional recipes from Bulgaria, they're quite unique.

  • Spices and seeds - I enjoy spices a lot, my favorite one is curry. I love everything with some curry on/in it. I would love to try any spices you have from your country and I don't have problem with spicy spices (lol). I also have a garden and I've recently started to get intrested in gardening so any seeds you wish to send will go directly in use. Unforunately, seeds are not permitted to be send from Bulgaria. I got 2 envelopes returned to me , ripped apart because there were seeds in them. Please keep that in mind if you wish to make a private swap with me for seeds. I wish I could send you some but I can't.

  • Patches, Pins and Badges - I started putting them on my backpack that I use to travel with. I collect patches from different countries which I put on the backpack.

  • Letter sets/sheets - They are very rare in my country so the only to get them is from swaps or buying them online from a different country.

  • My favourite colours are: dark red (bordeaux), dark green, navy blue, purple and black.

  • Anything which teaches me a little about your culture, language, food, landmarks or customs/traditions - these could be recipes, photos, postcards, bookmarks, book recommendations etc.

I prefer regular size postcards, but whatever one you got it will be fine, I appreciate all :) Recently I started collecting postcards of locomotives and vintage trains. If you send me any, I will be super grateful. I also collect postcards with map /coat of arms on them. Other postcards that I like: movies/tv shows related (check my favs); your city/country/region; animals (wolves and dogs mostly); book covers; history related. I don't mind handmade postcards or zazzle.

I'm also on Postcrossing, so if you want direct swaps there, message me ^^

Shout-Out to

@itsnobody - this is my real life partner and we often participate in swaps together, check her profile for any intresting swaps she hosts

@PukiCat - was one the first partners I had and she sent me some great stuff. She makes great and intresting swaps that I participate in, when I can.

@tizzicat - also one of my first partners and my first package/flat mail swap was to her. I messed up and didn't sent exactly what I had to, but she gave me a change to redeem myself with another package and she loves it. She also makes great swaps, I'm fan of the "First and Last lines of a book" series.

Private Swaps and Penpalling

If you are interested in a private swap or to become pen pals, please message me. Keep in mind, I live in a small southeast european country and when sending something overseas (outside Europe) it costs more. For such swaps it's best to be flat mail only.

Generally I love everything that I receive and I'm very easy to please.

  • I don't have problem with religious items (I'm agnostic).

  • I don't have any allergies.

  • I'm not a big fan of very short notes or writtings on the postcards, like just a "Hello , happy swapping". If you can please write something about yourself or whatever you feel like, even you can write that you don't want to write anything and I will still appreciate it more than just a "Hi" :D .

  • I don't like forest fruits tea and I'm not a fan of the Chai tea.

Thank you for the lovely Turkish Delight and spices. I love it! The Turkish Delight is better than any I’ve bought from my country, and I will be saving it for as long as I can! And I’m not familiar at all with the spice you sent but I’ll do some Googling to see what I can do with it. Thanks again! I’m beyond delighted <3
