About Me

And the people stayed home.

And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still.

And listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows.

And the people began to think differently. And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal.

And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healed.

profile-update: January 2021

Heya, my name is Moni. Well actually Monika, but since most of the people wrote Monica and all of my friends and family call me Moni anyway, I decided to change it in my address-box too. :-)

I work in a library (since 1993) and enjoy it, although I don't read as much as I used to read. Being together (since February 14th 2006) with the love of my life @LillyLupin formerly DarthD and I'm really happy! :-) We share the same address of course, but it's all sorted out with Rachel Johnson!

We don't have any pets (would love to live with a dog someday!), but our balcony totally belongs to the birds! :D We feed them all year round: blue and great tits, eurasian jays, magpies and now crows, doves and woodpeckers are visiting the whole day. We love to watch them, when we're sitting in our living-room, or working in the kittchen. :-)

Me in a nutshell: Introvert philanthrop with misanthropic tendencies.

No, thank you!!!

  • war
  • weapons of all kinds
  • please don't send me any (paper) bits and bops!!! I have so many papers for crafting, I could open a store! And please no buttons and knick knacks!!!
  • no loose memo sheets or sticker flakes!
  • no scrapbooking-supplies too, please!!!
  • no stickers, or notecards (I have more than enough!!!)

I hate tests on animals!!! So I try to avoid those products!

About hearts:

I don't give hearts for extras! I'll give a heart when I feel/see that the swap was made with love! :-) You can earn a heart if you write a friendly note, or fold/prepare/cut your letter or other stuff properly and not hastily or careless like you do for a school subject you don't like! Send something nice! It is really sad to have to write something like this, that should be required! :-/

'Stolen' from my sweetie's @LillyLupin profile:

I don't like scary stuff, so no zombies, evil clowns (or clowns in general actually), horror, splatter or anything else that gives me nightmares

I don't like brutality. Neither in real life nor in fiction. My mind cannot comprehend what people do to each other (or animals) for absurd or no reason! And I find nothing entertaining about it to watch it

Communication is the key!!!

If you can't send your swap in time, please tell me! I have no problem with it, as we all have lifes outside swapbot. But before the deadline ends!!!

packages and re-swapping:

I recycle bubble-envies and boxes. Means, if they are not torn I use them again to protect the environment. You can do this too when you send to me. :-)

I also don't wrap the swaps I send, in nice papers. They may look nice, but I think, this is not necessary. Another way to protect the environment. So you don't have to do that either in the swaps you send me! That doesn't mean, that I don't wrap them up carefully if necessary!

If you don't like/or can't use something I've sent, you can reswap/regift it. I too will give things away, that I can't use or don't need. With that said, I will never claim that I created something, that I didn't!!! When I pass handmade things to someone else, that are not mine, I will say so and I will never send them as a replacement of my part of the swap, but as an extra!

I'll angel all of my swaps I host myself.

I love:

A Animals (my favourites: crab, dragon, bats, wolf, sloth, snail, blue and great tit, robins, hippopotamus, octopus, marabou, kiwi, magpies, polar/arctic animals, australian animals, duck, especially baby ducks, dogs, starfish, sea horse, hedgehog, fox, turtle, small birds, animals from New Zealand) Jane Austen, Ellen Auerbach, autumn, astronomy

Yes, we can see some positive in the Corona, but so many people died and other are in danger! We're in a lockdown again in France but I enjoy it more than the 1st which were quite hard for me. Staying home is easier in Autumn than in Spring!

USAFwife rated for R&W: World Letter Writing day! on Sep 22, 2020
Comment: Great to get your letter. :) When my kids were little, we still had a VCR and had collected several Disney movies on VHS. We would take turns choosing movies to watch and my daughter would always choose "Herk-les"! :) For about 3-4 years, if given a choice, she chose "Herk-les"! She then moved on to Cinderella, but I think that movie sparked an interest in Greek myths with my kids because they all love Greek mythology. Now, though, when we re-watch it, we all 'correct' the story - Disney got some things 'wrong'. :) I actually worked at McDonald's back when Hercules was released! That was before kiddos, though, and I wasn't as interested in Disney. And, oh my goodness, I LOVED Chaplin! RDJ was so amazing in that movie! I think that was my first movie of his. And when The Judge came out, he came to the military base that we lived at for a pre-screening! Got to see him in person while he intro'ed the movie. :) Thanks for the great letter - and I'll keep your secret. :) I hope it works out for you. :)
Response: Thank you, Cindi. Awesome that you got to see RDJ!!! ♥
