Just a girl that finds arting meditative

I am a middle aged Army Brat that has settled in Northern Illinois until I can retire one day to a warm sandy beach.

I am in a long term romance with the love of my life. I hate explaining that I did not feel the need to marry my love, in the eyes of the universe we are…besides, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

My two step-sons keep me on my toes, even though they are grown and on their own now😂. But thanks to them, I got the best thing of all as they both gave my S.O. and I two awesome grandsons (fingers crossed for more grand babies) Update: we are expecting a granddaughter in February!!!!. I absolutely love playing with them, getting dirty, being goofy, and just getting to remember what it’s like to be a kid!

• Music ( I listen to classical, opera, jazz, blues, reggae, country, rock, heavy metal…I love it all!)

• Reading - Stephen King is my favorite author, but as I am a book addict, I read anything I can get my hands on.

• Travel. I traveled a lot as a child and still love to travel to places I have never been. I am American, but got the good fortune to grow up in Germany and to also be in the first exchange student program to Czechoslovakia after the Iron Curtain fell. Someday I will make it to Ireland and Australia!

I love working in watercolor, pen and ink, graphite.

As a self taught art/ crafter, I am learning oil painting and pastel and also mixed media, it is so messy and so fun!

My style is best described as all over the place…I love the classic artists Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Matisse, Mucha…but I also love street art, building murals, train graffiti. Ansel Adams and Joel Satore are some of my favorite photographers . Baroque and Renaissance share my heart with bohemian and industrial style. I am a Gemini, I can’t help myself 😂

I also love to up cycle found objects and turn trash to treasure 😊. That way I feel I am saving landfills ( my story, lol) and I have something no one else does
