Gentleness

as defined in the Bible: An expression of compassion, seen in God’s dealings with the frail and weak, and expected of believers in their dealings with others.

Dictionary definition:

1. the quality of being kind, tender, or mild-mannered.

2. softness of action or effect; lightness.

What does gentleness mean to me?

As it says above, to be a gentle person you must also be a strong person. You must be kind and careful to others especially people who might be frightened for whatever reason. They need to gain your trust and that in itself means that you must have the strength to convince them to trust you. When you show Jesus's love, gentleness and kindness anything's possible.

The gentleness of a Christian:

1. It is learned.
2. It is godly.
3. God expects it.
4. It isn't easy.
5. Sometimes it comes with great difficulty and through special circumstances.

Kinds of gentleness:

1. A gentle spirit acknowledges the truth of what is being felt and how to respond to it.

2. Gentle people make and embrace the time and space between something happening and when to respond to it.

3. A gentle spirit is acknowledging and allowingyourself to care about things.

4. A gentle spirit will find reasons that ignite a positive motivation.

5. Gentle spirits embrace their ability to choose instead of reacting.

6. Cultivating empathy and an understanding that the world doesn't revolve around their perception of reality is a habit of the gentle spirit.

7. Gentle spirited people observe the world. They observe themselves, other people and situations they experience. The more control you have, the more space you have to choose to be gentle.

Meaning of scripture to me:

My gentleness is always evident to all. I live my life always being compassionate to others. I show kindness whenever possible even in the worst of situations. Even when someone does something to make me angry I try my best to respond in the kindest possible way.
