I read the profile of who I send to and receive from. I found a new friend who lives near me. Her profile mentions the Denver Postcard Club. I joined and love it. We have monthly meetings with fantastic topic presenters and we can look through and purchase postcards. I participate twice a year in the children's project to fill 150 envelopes with postcards and stamps to the Children's Hospital to introduce postcards and mail them.
I have been collecting whales (mostly Humpback) for over 40 years, one day I hope to see one breach. We tried once, but the three-day rain didn't allow the day trip. I have traveled to all the states except Alaska. My 2020 trip planned to Alaska was canceled. I am going to try again in 2021. Update!! Visited Alaska in May!! Wahoo! We saw Orcas, but none breaching.
Love to sew and do machine embroidery. I have a granddaughter with very specific ideas for costumes and decorating her clothing. She gives me challenges for sewing projects. In 2022 she asked for an anime character - Sophie Hatter from Howl's Moving Castle for Halloween and also to wear at an anime fest. I learned a lot about anime and watched the movie. I enjoy new techniques in my sewing and love to make the Free Standing Lace Angels offering to everyone who visits. I learned to make Microwave Fabric Bowls and went nuts making over 400 sets of them so far. I use them instead of flat potholders. Joann Fabrics, Michael's, and Hobby Lobby are my kind of toy stores!
Lately, I have been making paper napkin-covered envelopes. They are fun to send in the mail and easy to make. YouTube and Pinterest have several videos to use paper napkins for crafts.
I absolutely love to visit Mt Rushmore. Since 1963 it is the most visited spot ever for me and I find something new each time. One time my dog went with me on my trip from Illinois to Montana. Animals are no longer allowed on the Presidential Walk or in the amphitheater. I have over 500 different postcards from that tourist place and welcome more. Mine are in two binders now instead of a photo box. I have a wooden card, very old black and white ones, and linen cards as well as the new 4x6 size. I recently found a 5x7 linen I didn't know that size existed.
I would go back to Europe in a heartbeat and revisit Castles and distant relatives in Switzerland. New England historical sites are very much a fascination to me. The Whaling Museum is also on my bucket list.
I prefer postcards blank and protected in an envelope to avoid bent corners.
USA Touristy postcards are my Most Favorite! I am no longer collecting or saving international cards other than Switzerland and Germany for ancestry purposes.
I prefer 4x6 or smaller. Larger cards are difficult to store.
I have been collecting postcards for years buying those instead of other souvenirs. I collect postcards from every place I visit. I put the date and who was with me on the back. I have boxes of them filed by states, countries, and other themes. They can capture pictures that my camera cannot. I like city views, landmarks, country scenes, day and night themes, and maps (state or country). I like the colorful pictures of places, map cards and information ones of places as well. I will trade animals or flowers if that is what is required in the swap. I would prefer touristy cards from places to see over the artsy or animal pictures with the exception of Whales - my favorite is Humpback Whales. Postcard swaps with a touristy or specific theme, but not animal or flowers. I have no filing boxes or folders for flowers or animals other than Whales. I like the places visited to inspire me to add to my bucket list.
I have Colorado cards galore, send me a different state card, please.
I am a dog person - Dachshunds and I collect whales (mostly humpback whales). Please send other animal cards to those listing animal requests in their profiles.
Postcards --- City views, Edition-Tausendschön, Historical sites or Historical people, Jefferson's Monticello, Lantern Press, Large Letter State and City (Greetings from with pictures inside the letters), Linen, Map or map shape cards (other than Postcard Fair), Maxicards, PCs with cutouts, Washington's Mount Vernon, Hold up to the light cards, Vintage touristy, Pictorial Map, Postallove State and Country cards, Postcrossing meetup, The Writerie.
I am also looking for postcards for Elgin, Illinois, my hometown.
(I am no longer collecting other countries except for Germany and Switzerland)
Lou Paper State Series - looking for Delaware, Iowa, New Hampshire, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Vermont (I don't think these have been created yet) and other non-state related.
I also collect unused or used Busy Tourist's Correspondence Check-Off when I can find them. Would be happy to trade for these, let me know your Wishlist.

Dislikes or not into--
Those cheap sepia 32-pcs Vintage Travel Sights Landscape Retro Postcards from AliExpress, Amazon, Wish, Temu, or other sites (smaller cards without description on the back. The back is a sepia tone with just boxes on the top left.)
Please send Homemade postcards, ATCs, Tea bags, cat items, kawaii, washi tape, or bits of paper to someone else! When I receive these, I know my profile has not been read.
Sad to say dislikes or disappointments are the flakers and non-raters. I am getting my share. I will no longer seek out a rating.
If you do not receive the swap, let me know and I will resend.
Thank you for reading to the bottom.
Happy Spring!
