I'm a retired biological research associate (fancy title for bottom rung jobs), I've loved the subject of biology since high school. I live outside the KC,MO area but have lived and traveled to a lot of places in the US. I love art and have been drawing and painting when I could but besides a seminar here and there have had no formal training. I have time now to explore and I am! I am awed by the patterns in nature and nature itself. I try to keep my brain engaged by taking one class a semester at my local two year college. Classes are free for seniors and I only take classes outside of the subjects I had pursuing my degree. It's fun and shows the younger students it's never too old to learn! And I love ATC's...and other paper art.Disclaimer: It's too hot for summer school and since OATS has doubled the fare I think I'll stay home and make art!
Drawing (pencil and colored pencils), collage, very detailed coloring books, zentangle, painting with water soluble oils, finger painting with water soluble oils (gloves on), painting with pastel and graphite dust, painting with watercolors (newbie), painting watercolor pencils,(newbie) painting with gouache
Most of these are dependent on whether or not I can find a space on my drawing table!
I love mountains, elephants, very colorful flowers and birds, any art supply, fashion from Elizabethan era, art nouveau art, art by Dante Gabrielle Rosetti, tapestry by Maximo Laurie, art museums, Japanese fabrics, fabric from India, vintage fabric, fancy fashion from 1920's, washi paper and tape, paper with designs, old embroidered postcards, Patrick Mahomes, wildlife, Montana, very old embroidery but not samplers, fantasy football, football (especially the KC Chiefs), anything Aidan Turner, fractals, seashells, sea urchins, sea slugs, nudibranchs, snow, Historical buildings inside and out (including churches), microbes, whales, Pre-Raphaelite art, llamas
One of these days I'll edit this and put it in another format (one of these days!).
