Feb 2017 Note: I took a deliberate break from swapping while I was too busy to keep up with it, but now I'm ready to cure the winter doldrums with some fun swapping!
I am a wife, a home educator, a Christian, a private tutor for dyslexic students, and I enjoy trying new crafts!
I enjoy paper crafts and sewing. The most practical things I produce are small photo albums and simple clothes for my daughters. I've played around with upcycling, origami, tea bag folding, iris folding, collage, cross-stitch, finger knitting, finger crochet, blanket making, tunnel books, mug rugs, altered clothespins, clothes peg dolls and bottle cap jewelry.
A few years ago I started collecting ACEO's from Etsy, and I want to try making some of my own ATC's.
I like to make felt flowers and usually put them on wreaths.
I like using charms and beads on bookmarks and charms for journals and such.
I enjoy seeing what other people make and am very easy to please!
I love bright buttery yellow! I also love red and robin's egg blue. The only colors I don't particularly like are drab colors like olive green.
I like buttons, brads, quotes, border stickers, ribbon pieces, washi tape, alphabet stickers, handmade papers and pictures from old books.
I enjoy birdwatching, especially the ducks and cranes that winter at our local wildlife refuge.
I like cats! I like Hello Kitty and Jetoy and Chi's Sweet Home -- pretty much any cute kitty stuff!
I also have collections of board games, vintage plates, children's books, and of course, a huge collection of craft supplies.
I like to make and receive ATC's and inchies and bookmarks!
I enjoy handmade jewelry and will wear necklaces, bracelets, rings (size 10 or adjustable) and light-weight earrings.
I don't do traditional scrapbooking anymore because my perfectionism gets in the way. Instead, I do smaller scale memory/photo books and Smash books. I almost always take my smash book on trips now and I love playing around with it!
I appreciate handmade accessories like pockets, tabs, tags, decorative tape, border stickers and such for my smash book!
The pretty extras that I get in swaps, like stickers and papers, often get used in my smash book and the beautiful decorated envelopes usually become pockets :)
I like mystery novels such as The Cat Who series, the works of Agatha Christie, the Sherlock Holmes stories, and the Ellis Peters Cadfael books.
I also like books about organization and time management (though I don't think they have helped much!).
If I need to laugh, I want P.G. Wodehouse, Patrick McManus, The Far Side, and Calvin and Hobbes.
