IF YOU HAVENT RECEIVED A SCHEDULED SWAP FROM ME AND I HAVE NOT PERSONALLY CONTACTED YOU TO LET YOU KNOW IT WILL BE LATE, YOU CAN TRUST THAT IT HAS BEEN LOST IN THE MAIL. PLEASE CONTACT ME SO I CAN CORRECT THIS BEFORE YOU ASSUME THAT I DIDNT SEND ANYTHING OR HONOR MY PART OF THE SWAP AND GIVE ME A LOW RATING. I would do the same for you. Thank you.
I am a writer, editor, amateur foodie, and avid photographer. I have an unhealthy love of the Discovery, SyFy, and both the cooking channels (Food Network, The Cooking Channel).
I spend my days writing, editing, running my writing groups, and marketing my books. I try to remember to do things for myself, but there are days when I forget to eat until my husband walks in the door after work. LOL
I have been writing nonfiction magazine articles for both online and print publications since 1999. I write NF articles to pay the bills. My debut novel was released in Dec 2015, with my second in Nov 2016. I currently have 15 published books. I mainly write mixed genre romance, including paranormal, fantasy, supernatural, erotica, medical mystery, and Chick Lit.
I love photography and collect unique pictures, vintage photos, and black and whites.
I love ALL THINGS related to vintage typewriters. If it has a vintage typewriter on it, I love it and want it. I collect typewriters and I'm always looking for more.
I also LOVE ink Wells and quill pens. The more unique the better, but I love ANY quill I can get my hands on.
I do a lot of generic crafts - especially with my writing group - so I use a lot of beads, charms, cord, and hemp.
Magazines seem to reproduce like bunnies in my home. I will sort through them, cut out what I want and toss a dozen or more. The next thing you know, there are thirty of them on my coffee table. I love magazine ... especially cooking, home, and writing magazines.
I have an odd love of "funky" socks - seasonal, fuzzy, crazy colors, toes, unmatched. The funkier the better.
I'm married, have three grown sons, and five beautiful grand children - three of which are Gingers like me!
My favorite color is green (emerald green to be exact). I love all shades of green except fluorescent lime green. I also like red, earth tones (browns, tans, etc), sapphire blue, and grays. I do NOT like pinks or purples. I think it's because I am not really a "frilly" girl and I raised all boys. I also do NOT like orange.
I LOVE writing and "pen-palling." However, as I am a writer, I write, type, and edit five out of seven days. SO, I am better able to communicate and respond more quickly, and write longer letters if my partners don't mind getting a typed letter -- with a few handwritten notes mixed in. If this is NOT what you want -- if you want ONLY handwritten responses from me when I reply to any letter you send -- please let me know and I will be sure to write you back with a handwritten letter.
As I mentioned, I love the cooking channel. I watch the majority of the reality cooking shows - Top Chef (all of them), Iron Chef, Cupcake Wars, Masterchef, Chopped, etc. (I won't name them all for you.)
I like a lot of reality shows, too. I tend to get material for my books from some of them. I do NOT watch the "drama" reality series (Real Housewives, etc.). I like Biggest Loser, Survivor, Amazing Race, Hells Kitchen, Top Chef, etc.
Comedies are great, too. My favs include: Mike and Molly, Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, etc.
I LOVE crime and medical dramas - all of the Law & Order series, Rizzoli and Isles, Hawaii 5-0, Grey's Anatomy, etc.
I love, love, love Supernatural. I am a die-hard fan. I literally watch Supernatural EVERY SINGLE WEEKDAY! I also love Vikings, Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, Mandalorian, and did I mention Supernatural? (I'm a Dean girl.)
Ok, I will admit it one time only: I am a major Sci Fi geek. I will watch all the cheesy movies on the Sy Fy Chanel and if Star Trek, Iron Man, X-Men, Thor, The Hulk, The Fantastic Four, etc, ever comes on T.V., I watch it, even if I just watched it last week.
Let me begin by saying that I am not going to be able to answer this section very well. There are WAY too many authors that I adore to name. Plus I'd be afraid I would forget an important one.
A couple of my ultimate favs are: Janet Evanavich, Sylvia Plath, Poe, Judy Blume, Shirley Jump, and of course, J.K. Rowling and Stephen King.... See? There's too many!
I read young adult, mid-adult, paranormal, drama, romance, poetry, horror, mystery, drama, chick lit, erotica, supernatural, and pretty much anything else. The only thing I don't really read much of is Literary or Historical Fiction.
I can't knit. I can't crochet. And I can't draw. I try, but I suck. I try to sculpt, but it's very personal. I try to paint, but again, it's very personal work. I would love to be able to crochet or knit. Any kits or tools that would help me do that would be so welcomed! I would really like to learn.
I do love beading, painting, those fuzzy coloring posters, adult coloring books, and making hemp bracelets. I do a lot of "repurposing" crafts - such as making bracelets out of t-shirts, painting old jars to create 'mom money jars' or 'bingo money' jars, etc. I use all size mason jars for SO MANY THINGS!
I also create lots of handmade items such as magazine and newspaper beads, miniature books, miniature bookshelves (with books), bracelets, collage art ...
I am a BIG advocate of "reduce, reuse, recycle." I will reuse things that are sent to me in a new and unique way for a different swap or event. So, please don't be surprised if you receive a piece of something you've sent or given me (piece of a letterhead, [I keep the actually letter!] picture off a greeting card, etc.) used in a future swap. I hope this doesn't offend anyone.
My FAVORITE THINGS include: Pens -- Notebooks -- Journals -- (especially InkWell Press & moleskin) Index cards (all sizes and colors) -- The Cleveland Browns -- Supernatural (the TV show) anything -- Chai tea (especially Chai Tea Lattes) -- Sticky notes (any size or color) -- Candles -- Scents: vanilla, apple, citrus, holiday scents -- Funky socks -- Body lotions (esp. for extreme dry skin) -- Harry Potter anything -- Red licorice (LOVE Red Vines) -- Nail polish (any color exceptpink or purple. I like to experiment) -- Nail art pens -- Chocolate covered cherries -- Dried pineapples -- ONE OF MY ULTIMATE FAVORITE! Burt's bees lip balm -- Any kind of hair treatments -- Any kind of facial scrubs, peels, or exfoliant -- Fav flowers: daisies, tulips, daffodils, orchids -- Witch, magic, or supernatural items -- Lord of the Rings / Hobbit -- Marvel Comics -- Anything by Stan Lee -- Holiday items (non-religious Xmas, Halloween) -- Teas (especially Chai, Earl Gray, and Breakfast teas, but I will try any) -- Hot chocolate -- Vintage pictures and/or Black & white photos -- Photo frames (esp. unique and / or vintage) -- Anything typewriter related --
I send a LOT of cards to people throughout the year so blank cards (ESPECIALLY birthday or thinking of you) are always welcome.
I LOVE purses. I mean really, Really, REALLY LOVE purses! I have a whole area of my Diva Den dedicated just to my purses. I love all kinds of purses, but my favorite are those with lots of pockets. And do messenger bags count as purses? Cause I love those, too. I have always wanted a light tan messenger bag.
Pens. Did I mention my obsession (often leading to kleptomania) with pens? All kinds, types, colors, etc. I. Love. Pens.
Also, unused stamps are a good choice to send.
I use index cards for EVERYTHING from keeping track of my swaps to grocery lists to outlining my books. So, index cards of any size, and color are a very good choice to send.
MUSIC: I love ALL kinds of music (well, except most Rap).
New age, rock, pop, dance, punk, classic rock, jazz, blues, Dubstep, alternative rock, etc. I like new age country but not honky-tonk. I love classical music as well and use movie (Harry Potter, LOTR / Hobbit) and game sound tracks when writing.
I DO NOT LIKE: Coffee (or coffee flavored items) Anything mocha Pink Purple Orange Religious items Basketball Rap music Mint flavors
