About Me

My best friend committed suicide August 27 and I am devastated. I am thankful for all the warm thoughts, prayers, care, and concern that has been expressed by my SB friends.

I live in an itty bitty town of 300 with no PO. Rural carriers pick up and deliver our mail in a pickup truck. I work in a bit bigger town with a PO (but not the PO that delivers my mail that would be too easy), during my work week I take my swap mail to the PO to mail. If I am not working (shift work) during normal times I put my swap mail in my mailbox.

If you have not received a swap from me, please let me know and I will resend!

I am lucky to be married to my best friend for just over 7 years. We have no children together & he has none.

I have 5 kids from my previous marriage that was a combo of his & mine. In a deeply accented whisper, "Wahaha, they are all mine now!" And lucky for me they are great kids that have made me a KiKi 6 times so far.

JB 30 (Kylie 5 & Mason 1), KM 28 (Reighlyn 7, Taborlyn 4, Dalles 2, & Crosslyn 1), KL 21, KM 19, and Jb 16.

I might have a problem with alliteration.

Favorite Music

I am obsessed with classical music which all my kids and my DH hate. Vivaldi's 4 seasons is my current most listened to but Fur Elise is my favorite piece ever.

Jeremy Camp is my favorite Christian artist at the moment and listen to my my Jesus jams @ The HouseFM online.

I also listen to a bit of regular music too with ACDC & KISS topping that list. Maybe a little RATT, just a little.

Favorite Books

I have been an avid reader since I was little. Being an asthmatic on a harvest crew meant that I was stuck inside with a book alot.

I have to schedule my reading time everyday or I would just read all day, everyday, while listening to classical music and having a cuppa. Nah, I actually don't like distraction when I read.

My absolute favorite book ever is Jane Eyre, I read it once a year. I read anything but romance. I carry my kindle every where I go and have about 300 books on it at anytime.

I stopped reading Steven King a while ago, but someone at work is strung out on his new books, so I may inter-library loan some stuff and get caught back up.

Favorite Movies

Hmm, I am not a huge TV/Movie watcher but my favorite movies are goobery romances, which is odd because of all the books I read, I do not read romance novels.

  1. Murphys Romance
  2. You've Got Mail- I also like The Shop Around the Corner-which this movie is based on.
  3. Love Actually

Wow, I am so old!

Favorite Television

My clerks at work don't belive how TV ignorant I am. I only watch a few shows and I record them and watch them while crafting.

  1. Walking Dead
  2. The Following
  3. Big Bang Theory
  4. The Strain

My DH watches all the Alaska shows, I just go into my studio and ignore him.

Favorite Crafts

My favorite!

I have just found my craftiness within the last few years. I had always said I was not that type of person, I was a workaholic.

Now I am not the best crafter, but I love locking myself in my craft studio and working on a project.

-sewing, I have been sewing for about a year and while I am a complete novice I love it!

-papercrafts, I make cards monthly for our local nursing home, I enjoy altering comp books for journals, and tags/cards for my scripture study.

-creap ATC sites, I have made a few. I am definately learning, but I do kinda stink. I am working on backgrounds right now.

-obsess over decking out my Happy Planner. I am learning how to make my own stickers and it is challenging. I make my own journaling cards and dashboards for my planners. I get a lot of comments on those, I am not sure they are good comments tho...I have so much scrapbooking paper that I pick a pack of paper for each month so it cordinates through out, and just cut and tape on my squares. I have checked out etsy shops for weekly spreads, but I am a bit to frugal. I have found a print your own shop that I like and I may have to take the plunge.

-play with vinyl, I make signs and other pretties.

-cross stitch, haven't done a lot lately but I have completed several big projects over the years.

-crochet, prayer shawls mostly but I am trying out my hand at wash clothes so I am participate in some of those swaps.

-baking, I like decorating small cakes, making cinnamon rolls, and bread.

Things I love

All things Jesus! Although it does not hurt my feelings if you feel differently.

Hot Tea - Have not found one I dont like yet. Yes I have...There is a lipton orange ginger tea that I do not like at all.

Coffee - I like it black and strong, Jamacian is my favorite. Ethopian is now my new 2nd favorite.

Chocolate - Any form or fashion. Aldi's imported chocolates are the bomb!

Sugar - I love sweets. Thats why I have an OMG Becky! butt.

All Crafty things - washi, stickers, pretty paper, cricut cuts, adhesives, ribbon, yarn, fabric. twine, paper clips...

My favorite colors in order of like - purple, hot pink, red, orange, bright green.

Lip Chap/Lip Balms - I am addicted and carry a softlips square everywhere I go, but I like most brands and flavors.

Socks - I have a love for seasonal socks. My absolute favorite pair that I wear at least once a week are a Christmas pair with gingerbread men.

I have not ventured into pocket letters or ATCs yet. I am very curious though.* I made a simple pocket letter for my middle daughters 21st birthday. I LOVE IT! and have 2 more in the works right now.*

Comment: Wow Kelli, you are very creative! I love how you decided to do this Christmas recycle, using both outside and inside of the envelope with velcro closings, love it! Thanks for the inspiration!
Comment: Loved your card! Wow you have some amazing news, congrats to you on your new grandchildren and lovely engaged daughter :) Cheers! So much to be thankful for.
Comment: We really can be our own worst enemy. Good luck with your new outlook on life and of yourself!
Comment: These are great. I am smitten with the one with the loose weave fabric and the roses and butter knife. I think the paperclip saved the whole swap. The short side of the envelope was open from top to bottom. I believe everything was in there. This has happened before and even to ones I have sent. Do you have any idea what is going on? Thanks again.
Response: That is horrible! I will resend some more tags next week! I am glad you enjoyed them. I had made a bunch of those paperclips for a junk journal I am making. I just loved them.

Hmmm not sure what you meant about watering the base of the plant.... ? Does the container have good drainage? It should not hold stagnant water, there should be holes in the bottom to let the water drain out. Make sure that water can drain out the bottom! depending on the plant it may not like to be constantly moist, some do better when they dry out between waterings. Might want to let it dry out? (If it is really too dry and needs water it will start to wilt but will perk right up within minutes after watering it.)

hey! What is going on with your plant?!
