Response: Thanks Marion! The postage stamps I bought from my aunt. She and my grandmother each had an account with Canada Post that sent them a sample from every issue. There isn't really a collectors market for these stamps, so I bought them from her for a little over their face value. I do have fun with the old stamps! Jen

Response: So glad you liked it! The red envelope is called a money envelope. It is used during the Chinese New Year when families give money to unmarried friends and relatives. I learned about it through my Asian-Canadian roommate. Jen

Response: Hi CJ - those envelopes, called lai see in Cantonese (red envelopes or red packets) I pick up in the Asian stores and Chinatowns. They are used at Chinese New Year when married folks give money in them to their unmarried relatives and friends (a bit like how we give money to our little relatives for their birthdays and at Christmas).
