Comment: Hi Mabel! I love the herpetology card, thank you! I took a natural history class in college, it was taught by a herpetologist so I have a soft spot in my heart for our little herpy friends. As a kid we would catch salamanders in the creek behind our house, but now I admire them from afar. They're a pretty special sight if you can catch a glimpse.

Comment: Mabel, thank you for the lovely letter! The tuck ins were very nice, but I especially loved the picture of the columbine from your garden! I grow columbine as well, because a bird or critter deposited seeds in my garden one year, and I was so in love with the flowers I harvested the seeds and planted more. Now they come back yearly, and are one of my favorites. There's only a few left on the stalk now, though. You talked about moths, and just a couple weeks ago I saw my first polyphemus moth hiding in the branches of my peony plants. So big! I'll write back in July, as we are about to go on vacation. I was mightily impressed by your neat and tidy handwriting, let alone all the illustrations and mixed media art you added to your story. That was quite a neat little piece of work.
