About Me

French woman living in England, married with 3 children and one little dog! I work as an LSA (Learning Support Assistant) in a secondary school.

If you don' t receive a swap from me, send me a message first before rating!! Communication is everything!!

After reading quite a few other profiles, I realised I had not told you much about myself, just facts!

I find it hard to describe myself but I' ll try! I enjoy being quiet, reading a book (cookery, crafty, or simply a good story), reading profiles on Swap- bot!, writing letters or my diary, sewing, knitting...depending on my moods... I like doing things on my terms and I HATE rushing, which I do most mornings to take the children to school!

When I am in the mood, I go the opposite way and turn the music up, dance in the living room and am bubbly, daft, chatty, gossipy even!! I enjoy cooking with cream and chocolate. I don' t believe in diet foods, I always read the labels and am not a fan of E numbers or low fat food! I hate diet drinks! I think it is important to eat properly, without excess and have a real treat every now and then! I enjoy my food.

I garden with my 10 year old son and three friends. We rent 3 allotments and grow constantly during the months of February to November! We use the lasagna gardening method! Check it online, it' s magical and very easy! ( no digging!!!). We have been very successful. We garden weekly! I love growing vegetables, my favourite being French beans, leeks, tomatoes and potatoes. We grow lots of berries and make jam, jellies and crumbles)

Favorite Television

I enjoy Home & Away, Neighbours, MKR ( My kitchen Rules), I' M a celebrity, get me out of here!!, The Great British bake off, Who do you think you are?, Long Lost Family...and comedies, and love stories!!

Hate watching sport on TV, especially football and tennis ( feels like the same game over and over again!)

Favorite Music

I love most musics, not too keen on Opera or Heavy metal but like anything in between. My favourite band/ singer are Yothu Yindi, Ed Sheeran, The Beatles, Abba, and French music.

Favorite Books

Really enjoyed reading A town like Alice and Head over Heels by Sam bailey. Also love the Bridges of Maddison County. Lately, I have been reading boring books, I need some inspiration please, I don't like anything gory or violent. Just a good story, well written and moving.

Bad quality chocolates ( like cheap milk chocolate),

Cats scare me, they always stick their claws in my thighs!! Ouch!!

Family recipes,

anything Handmade,

knitting/ crochet/ embroidery/food magazines,

seeds for my garden,

fabric ( especially Liberty!!!)

anything useful,

anything warm, unusual, funny,

anything that takes me to a different place through taste/ smell,

good books

seasonal decorations/ ornaments

good quality chocolate, anything nutty or fruity, hot drinks ( tea/ coffee/ chocolate...)... Really love meringue and nougats and nuts!

I also enjoy food that contains alcohol!!

I enjoy Pilates

Crochet books (with charts!)

Cookery books

But most of all, I love my friends and family

POSTCARDS : I prefer a naked postcard with one landscape view ( day or night time) or a recipe on the front. Please, write the date on it and your 3 favourite places to go to ( on holiday/ vacations)! I " stole" this one from somebody on this site so thank you, it' s a good idea!! Please, don' t send me dull coloured postcards, like beige or white and very light yellow... They make me sad!...Take me with you on your travels! Show me the sea and the land and the food you are discovering!Thank you!

Earrings!!! All types, but no clip ons! I have pierced ears!!!

Any colour, any material except plastic.

Favourite colours are red/ brown/ orange / ye!low and turquoise! Love opals!!

Also really like seed bead earrings and micro macramé earrings!

Favourite movies

Priscilla, Queen of the Desert! , Elf, The Bridges of Madison County, The Joy Luck Club, The Untouchables, Twilight, The Theory of Everything...

Say one word and you may appear stupid, say nothing and you may appear clever!

Go where you want, die where you must!

Comment: Thank you Charlotte this poem is perfect for me.

Comment: Thank you so much!! These sound amazing!!
Comment: Love the card! I collect postcards, and one from the royal wedding was great! A little out of sync with the poetry on the back, but that makes it quirky and cute!
Response: The thing is, in the 70s, mixed raced people were called Half C. That's s why I found it fitting as the message is so strong and the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh would have probably used this term. Things have changed, fortunately!

brumby3 rated for Crafty Easter swap on Mar 20, 2018
Comment: Charlotte, it arrived!! As always, I am blown away by your generosity! I love love love it all but by far my favourite things were the handmade crafts!! That bunny painting is incredible!! She has beautiful eyes! I love the hen/chicken potholder?? (I am assuming that is what it is, but I would never use it for that purpose!). And the giant purple egg oh my goodness!!! It is so beautiful and sparkly – basically, you blew me away! I love all the other things you sent me, we have the delicious magazine in Australia (but the Australian version) – I will need to send you a copy when we do our next swap. Love the washi, cupcake liners and the chocolate! Love the recipes, some very interesting ingredient combinations there! And your last minute Easter card put a smile on my face! Loved reading about your Easter traditions too. Thank you SO much and Happy Easter my friend! Annabelle xoxoxo
Response: Glad you like Bunny, I spent ages on his eyes!!! I had so much fun with this painting, I really loved doing it. Glad the egg is to your liking, this giant purple bird laid it on my doorstep and I thought " purple!", was worried the glitter might be a bit too much! I ate glitter for the next few days I' m sure and my glue gun is also purple! Yes, the chicken is a pot holder. Sit him on top of tge hot lid and make sure its legs dangle!!! Happy Easter my friend! xxxx
Comment: Wowza, love the knitting books. Thanks so much for the swap
Response: Glad you like them, hope you find some inspiration and start clicking your needles soon! xxx

Comment: Charlotte i don't have words to describe how happy i am when i saw your package..First of all i love the washi tapes...OMG why we didn't add washi samples in the swap??? Silly me :) :) I LOVE the garam masala and pink pepper..Thank you so much for the chocolates (my fiancee try all the flavours of course in an instant) :) I can't wait to plant the seeds you sent me. The fridge magnet..the recipes!!!!!...I'm sure i'm in love with the potato chips..i will try them later today..we have movie night :) Thank you again for everything!!!!!!!! Love, Vicky
Response: Glad the parcel arrived quickly! You can freeze the turmeric and grate it when needed. We have nearly eaten all the chocolates you sent us and it was delicious! I took the fig biscuits to work and shared them with my colleagues, that was a new experience for us! A bit of Greece at work! I have already added recipes to the recipe book you started for me! BloomingRoses rated for Granny Square A Month Swap 1 on Mar 12, 2018
Comment: OMG OMG OMG!!!! What a stunning design choice for my granny square. Very fancy & yes in my favourite colours. Thankyou for reading my profile too. The pattern looks very interesting. It’s encouraging me to want to try something a little different. I’ve not long started to re learn how to crochet. Self taught with no real directions so classes have been great. I loooove the patterns you also enclosed and look forward to making them. Armchair travel with a postcard is always fun too. Thankyou again for great package. 5 ⭐️ Rating. Thanks again
Response: Thank you for the lovely review xxx
Comment: Thanks for the recipes. I've never tried to make scones, because there is someone at a local farmers market that makes really good ones. The crumble made me smile, because I was just re-watching an episode of "Downton Abbey" where Mrs. Hughes fakes a sore had so Carson will make dinner. She compliments him on the apple crumble. The victoria sponge and the choc bit cookies sound good. Liked the postcards, too. Susan (brooklynbunch)
Response: Many scone recipes have eggs in them but the one I sent you hasn't , which makes them less like a cake...and more like a scone. They don't keep well, you need to eat them as soon as they come out of the oven (wait for 15 minutes so you don't burn your tongue!)...nice to make for friends when there isn't much else in the house! :) Don't forget to make the layers, they will be light! Hope you like them, Her Royal Highness certainly does! ;)

I had so much fun getting you items for the advent calendar. It makes me extremely happy to know you are enjoying each day. Maybe we can do a private swap next year for an advent calendar? May your Christmas be extra special since you are extra special yourself.
