Gifts and words of affirmation are my love languages.
It's difficult to write that first letter, I know. If you are writing me to, relax. Tell me anything, I am not here to judge. I revel in the diversity of people and cultures. Religion is not my thing, but it's ok if it's yours. Be WHO you ARE and be real. I will be. If all that is too much, tell me what you are passionate about or jot some thoughts on the things I have listed as likes. Just have fun writing, that it the point. I'll listen. Coffee and conversation is one of my favorite pastimes. Since we can't meet for coffee, pretend--and order what you will. :)
I love deciphering people's handwriting--your handwriting is as unique as your fingerprint--so do hand write if you are willing. Doodle, draw, decorate...it's all good. Know that I will find joy in receiving a letter whether it's a "get to know you", a "brain dump", a rant or an artistic expression. Just write.
Clarification: by "deciphering" I mean that I can usually read the most abominable handwriting and would prefer that to something typed out.
"I believe that creativity is a force of enchantment--not entirely human in its origins." --Elizabeth Gilbert Big Magic
I am an artist. My mediums of choice are watercolor, and acrylic and pottery.
I think sharing art is the greatest way to pass time--aside from making it.
I am also an author. I have published 4 books of poetry. I'm not into the sappy yucky love stuff, just the guts and grit of life, bearing witness to nature and finding words where others might not have any.
I love Nature! I grew up on a small farm with a huge garden so I think I'm somewhat old fashioned in a way. I love ferns, lichens, moss, the deep greens of trees and plants. I love being at the edge of a stream (or anywhere near water) watching birds or bugs or whatever comes by. I freeze and can my food from the garden, I cook and bake. I recycle like crazy.
I got my M.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences with a focus on Ecocriticism. If you know what that is, message me and let's write immediately.
MUSIC is the fluidity we need between languages. I love to listen to my Valley of the Clouds CD while I paint. Instrumentals soothe me.
I began piano at a young age and love all things jazz, classic or chorale. I also adore: P!NK, Adele, Pentatonix, Maroon 5 and Ed Sheeran. I'm also an 80's girl, so punk and butt-rock still find their way into my sound waves. Sometimes, I do play a song on repeat, OR dork out while "driver's seat dancing."
I love READING! I do not limit my interests in reading as I have found something to love in every genre (though I have not tried a graphic novel yet). Subject-wise, I have also loved novels about art, writing, readers, and even witches. As for poetry, Mary Oliver and William Stafford still top my list.

I am not trying to be rude, just trying to save you some expense/waste by asking you please, do NOT send me anything with snakes, gore, kiddie stickers, teacher/reward themed items, confetti, glitter packets, project life, dish towels, make up, sticky notes or memo/list pads, flowery fragrances, perfumed lotions or soaps -- I am allergic --, key chains, food, tea, or paper ripped from a spiral notebook--that drives me nuts.
Also NO political or religious propaganda, discriminatory language or images.
