Hey everyone!

My name's Virginia, I'm 21 years old, and I'm from California USA. I'm really looking forward to being apart of many swaps and maybe making some new friends or pen pals through this site. 😁

I've been an avid snail mailer and postcrosser for several years now. I love postcrossing, but I don't think there's anything nicer than to receive a beautiful letter from a so dear friend. 🥰 While other hobbies come and go, I don't think my fire for snail mail will ever go out. I have a few penpals all over the world and I've made some really great connections with some really wonderful women. I post a lot of my mail art on Instagram, as I love to share my art with others. I'm also a member of the Sacramento Snail Mail Society which is a small group of ladies that meets every other month and is dedicated and loves all things snail mail. I love being able to meet with others to talk about our wonderful hobby and write letters at the same time!

I'm currently in college/ university. I'm a music major with a focus in opera. I love opera more than anything and would love nothing more than to work as a professional opera singer after I am finished with school. I, of course, could never do any of it without the undying love and affection of my five wonderful cats. They're the center of my universe and I absolutely love them to death. 😻

With snail mail related crafts being my favorite, I enjoy Postcrossing and making mail art and I decorate and make every envelope unique! Other than snail mail related crafts, I really have been into making collages out of scraps from magazines like Bon Appetite, The New Yorker, etc. I'm an experienced knitter of 10 years, but I tend to go through phases where I'm either completely obsessed with it or I want absolutely nothing to do with it. I've also recently really gotten into diamond painting, but it's very time consuming so I can't do it all the time.

There isn't anything that I would be offended by. I am so appreciative of anything that you are willing to take the time to kindly put together and send to me. 💞

  • cheap and junky things... if you don't want it, I probably don't either! ;-)

PLEASE DON'T SEND ME TEA. I don't like tea, and I would just rather have you send it to someone who will actually enjoy it!

PLEASE DON'T SEND ME DIY POSTCARDS. I usually just really don't like them. Save your DIY PCs for someone who will enjoy it!

My only real "preference" is that I love beautiful postage, so if you are willing and able to send me beautiful and interesting stamps with your swaps I would greatly appreciate it. However, I have absolutely no problem with receiving swaps with basic/ standard/ "ugly" postage.

I love vintage stationery/ washi the most. I also like things that are a little quirky like illustrations and art. I love earth tones and pastels, but please nothing too bright. I also love beautiful matching paper/ envelope sets!

I like interesting pictures from magazines and vintage ephemera. I enjoy cute things as well, animals, kawaii, Studio Ghibli, etc.

If you read my about me tab, you'd know I am in love with opera. Some of my favorite operas are Faust, Tristan und Isolde, La Gioconda, Nabucco, Eugene Onegin, and La Boheme. My favorite composer of opera is probably Verdi, but my favorite composer of classical music in general is probably... uh actually I can't pick favorites, there's just too many great composers out there! I'd have to break it down by period and even then, it'd still be too hard LOL.

I don't just like classical music. I grew up listening to all kinds of music, and I'm an amateur pianist, so I have very broad tastes and am always open to suggestions! I've recently gotten really into jazz and I'm a life long die hard fan of The Beatles... thanks mom! 😋

I've always loved to read and pretty much the only genre I really like to read now is historical fiction. I don't necessarily have a favorite time period, but I usually prefer things from the first half of the 20th century. I love everything like Anne of Green Gables to more intense authors like Richard Yates and Tim O'Brien. I'm also a big fan of Outlander, or at least I was for the first two books/ seasons. It just went downhill for me after the third book. (No offense to anyone who loves the series!)

I love TV and I'm always watching something while crafting. My ultimate guilty pleasure is bad TV. I'm a sucker for The Real Housewives and Law and Order: SVU. I'm currently watching House and I love it! My favorite show of all time is The Soprano's. I never get tired of watching it. I also love The Office, as well as period dramas like Peaky Blinders, Poldark, Downton Abbey, and Call the Midwife.
