Comment: Thanks for the great card, Trula. Love your text strips. I haven't done any of those text poems for a while. Coincidentally, I just got Austin Kleon's book Newspaper Blackout from the library.
Comment: Very cool art! :) love this swap! By the way I loved getting two. Just figured out I'm to send the one that has one last place after I create on that spot. LOL! I'll get better at this- I promise. You explained it to me, but didn't sink in until today :D
Response: Glad that you liked the cards and the swap in general! Hope to see you back for future rounds! Thanks so much for the rating and the heart!
Comment: Hi Trula . . . .I simply adore your narwhal. SOOOOO cute ;+) Your little puffy sweetie is so sweet. I'd love to know your technique for making him "puffy" so I could use it myself. Thanks for sending a keeper!
Response: So glad that you liked the little narwhal! The "puffiness" is really just the type of paper I used...it was a rustic, thick, "handmade" sort of paper. Thanks so much for the rating and the heart!
Comment: I love to do this pass and pastes and am always honored to add my art with others. Thanks for the pattern tissue-love to use it in my collages. Nice work on the gelli plate I assume for the very festive and happy envelope!
Response: Yay! Thanks for participating in these swaps! I'm glad that you'll use the pattern paper. You were correct, the envie was gelli printed...I has a lot of fun with it! Thanks for the rating and the heart!
Comment: Trula, your swaps are so fun to receive! Such a creative ATC and love the envelope! I must learn how to do that! What medium is it that you use on the envelopes? A tutorial maybe? Thank you for the fun extras as well. Many hearts to you. :)
Response: Thanks so much for the great rating and heart, and I'm so glad that you enjoy my swaps! Was the envelope that I send you painted? If so, it was gelli printed, I think. If you want a little more insight into my process/technique, feel free to PM me, or maybe someday I'll get around to PMing you (although I'm likely to forget :). Hope to see you in the mail again soon!
Comment: I Love♥your postcard - the gelli print is awesome and both the stamps are great! .... THANKS
Response: Glad that you liked the stamps I used! For some reason that gelli print background had been sitting around forever, and I just needed the right opportunity to use it! Thanks so much for the rating and heart.
Comment: What a good coincidence - I am literally just getting into gelli printing now! In fact I'm about to go to the supermarket to get ingredients to make my own plate. This was well timed :D Thank you too for your lovely examples and the beautiful origami papers :)
Response: So glad that the zine will be used! Homemade gelli plates rule! Thanks so much for the rating and the heart.
Comment: Thanks for a great postcard! My husband laughed when he saw your card. He said a prius doesn't have powerful performance.
Response: Haha! I'm glad that your husband and you enjoyed the irony of it... It made me laugh when I was putting it together, and I hoped it would make others laugh too. Thanks for the rating and heart!
Comment: Oh my gosh! That is the cutest smallest stamp I've ever seen! I love it. Thank you so much Trula! No, I don't mind at all if you used it a bit first. That's how I test mine too - to see how the cuts are working. I love the whole thing - including the envelope and extra bits inside. I can't wait to use the stamp! XOXO
Response: Quick story: So I open my email to see one of those "you were rated for" emails for this swap. Gulp. I slowly click to swap bot. What if it was aweful? What if she hated it? I've never sent a stamp to someone before! Well let me tell you, your comment made me so happy! I'm so glad that you are enjoying it! (Huge sigh of relief :D). Thank you so much for your kind words, rating, and heart!
Comment: Thanks so much! I love the envie you made to mail it to me in :) 1 of the cards was made for me, lol but no big deal- but it turned out great. Also looking forward to creating a monster for the other one too!
Response: Sorry about that...obviously my brain wasn't 100% up to speed when I mailed that off...but I'm glad that I sent 2 cards! In any case, glad that you liked it! Thanks so much for the rating and the heart!
Comment: WoooWEEE! LoveLEEE! Thank you so much for the very lovely card. It's great. I'm so excited to see our season's book come together! Yay! XOXO
Response: Oh, I'm so glad that you like it! I was a little worried that it might be a bit to abstract; not quite "springy" enough for some, but I'm glad that it found an appreciative home! I too am excited to create our mini books! And maybe we can continue to do these "second swaps" for each season so that those who want to can have two tiles per season :). Who knows! Anyway, thanks for the great rating and heart!
Comment: Trula, your envie is BEAUTIFUL! That's the kind of mixed media work I wish I could do. I never know where to begin! And your postcard gave me some great ideas for the next one I make. Mine was pretty boxy ;+) Thank for for the papers, too. They're AWESOME and I don't have anything like them. The little diamond envie is so cute and I would be interested in having the template. Wonderful swap!
Comment: Hey Trula! I'm not familiar with 'gelli prints', so thanks for introducing me to one (it got a bit shredded in transit) -I liked the colors, your cute little owl and that new postage stamp :D Happy Swapping
Response: Really sorry that it got a bit mangled...but thanks for letting me know! I'm glad that you liked it anyway, and thanks for the rating and heart!
Comment: Wow! I love the gelli printed envie. It is so colorful and full of texture. Thanks for really looking at my profile. The fish and plague doctor are adorable and used postage stamps are always a win! Thanks for your thoughtfulness.
Response: I'm so glad that the package was something that you liked! I love it when people appreciate something that I put together for them. Have a great artsy weekend, and thanks for the great rating!
Comment: I love the skins you made, Trula! The colors, patterns (yay, you used the texture plates I sent ya!), all of it is awesome. I love the look of book pages on some, too. And the envelope is gorgeous! Great swap! Thank you so much!
Response: I was going back and forth about sending you skins made with the texture plates that you sent me, but in the end, I liked them so much that I just couldn't resist! I'm glad that you were ok with that. Thanks for the kind words, rating, and heart! Hope to swap skins again sometime in the future!
Comment: Thanks for the postcard. I can certainly see why the print was one of your favorites. There is very nice detail and the colors really compliment each other. Good choice not it to cover it up with alterations!
Response: Oh, I'm so glad that you appreciate the print! Whenever I send my "favorites" out into the unknown world of fellow art friends, I can just hope that they land in the hands of people with similar tastes as mine! In any case, thanks for the compliments, the rating, and the heart.
Comment: Thank you so much for the cool postcard...loved the saying
Response: Glad that you liked the saying. I have fun going through my (quite large) collection of random phrases and words from magazines to pick out the perfect phrases. Thanks for the rating and the heart!
Comment: The cards are supposed to be 3 layers and a backing. This one was only 2. I love how you did the B though so I'm giving you the 5.... thanks
Response: So sorry for the confusion; I interpreted the swap incorrectly. I'm glad that you liked it anyway, but if you would like me to make another and resend, please don't hesitate to let me know. They're fun to make anyway ;). Thank you for your understanding!
Comment: I love the assortment of envelopes you sent! The diamond one is very neat, and nope, I don't mind a bit paying a little extra postage to send such a fun envelope! Thanks so much! So glad you joined my swap! :)
Response: Glad you liked everything! Most people are totally on board with fun shaped envelopes, but I do encounter the grumpy sort every now and then. Thanks so much for the rating and heart!
Comment: Thanks for the great set of stencils. They should be fun to use. I appreciate the sample of the "lemon slice wheel" one -- love the spray mist through it. Thanks for joining my swap. Hope you had fun. <3
Response: I'm so glad that you liked the stencils! I hope you create lots of fun prints and other projects with them. Thanks for the kind words, rating, and heart!
Comment: Oh Trula. . . . this is Truly beautiful! I LOVE the dolphins! Your details are amazing, the blues are beautiful. Please message me and tell me what a gelli plate is please. Your work is amazing; thank you for creating a very special addition to my animal alphabet series.
Comment: These prints are so beautiful. I love the metallic paints and try to use those too, I would love to know what kind you use. Thank you so much for sharing your inspirations.
Response: I'm glad that you enjoyed the prints! The acrylics that I used were liquitex basics student grade acrylics. However, I do find that the gold dries MUCH quicker than the others which can make it harder to work with. Thanks for the kind words.
Comment: Hi!! I got your pass and paste today! It is awesome! I'm glad I'm not the only one that rationalizes doing more art instead of organizing! Your floor mail art is terrific! Love it! I was so happy to get it after a long day at work! ;) <3 <3
Response: So glad that you enjoyed it! When I create things like that, I have to find the right people to send them to that will appreciate the story behind them, because often the story is almost as entertaining as the art! Thanks for the rating and the heart, and see you in the mail soon.
Comment: Very delightful. Like how you combined the map and the silhouette of the crow and other backgrounds. This rates a place in my Poe shrine area because it is a black bird. Thanks for swapping and sharing!
Response: I'm so glad that you liked it! I was hoping that you would like it because of the crow/raven Poe connection, and I'm honored that you enjoyed it! Thanks for the rating, heart, and kind words!
Comment: This is a great pass and paste!! I can't wait to add to it! Thank you for the prints! I have a homemade gelli plate too...in fact you will be getting a decorated envelope and some backgrounds made with it! Great minds think alike. :) <3
Comment: Hello Trula, I received your delightful mail art today, What a fun technique you used on the envie! Thanks for the mini envelopes and for the handmade tape. I've already used the tape on some ATCs!
Response: I'm so happy that you liked everything! Thanks so much for joining my swap, and for the great rating.
Comment: Thank you, Trula. Delightful African elephant & wonderful textural background! I've been doing some of these strip-collages on an outline myself. So much fun and so many possibilities. Ah, but I so love elephants...
Comment: Thank you, Trula. I like the card a lot. I like the blend of colors against the black (or the black against the colors -- it's kind of Escher-esque in that respect!)
Response: Oh, I'm so glad to hear positive feedback on that piece! I have made a couple in that style, but yours is the first one I have sent out, and I'm glad that it was appreciated! Thanks for the rating and the heart!
Comment: Nice paint layers over the words. I also liked the square with bumpy texture.
Now the white dots grab me. I keep coming back to this postcard, so here's a heart. Nicely done. Thank you.
Response: I love textures and layers too. Thanks for taking the time to rate!
I'm glad you like it so much! I always love it when I get a piece that I just can't stop looking at. It becomes a temporary installation on one of my walls :).
Comment: Hi Trula,
Thanks for the fabulous junk journal. I can see how much work you put into it and you did a really great job on it. My journals aren't even as good as yours. I loved how you bound the pages and the journal itself plus the interesting papers you used. And the pockets of course were great too. I really love it. Thanks again!

Response: I'm SO glad that you got it and like it! I was holding my breath, just hoping that it would get there. It's just my luck to have something that time consuming "disappear" in the mail! I'm glad that it went to someone who appreciates it! Thanks so much for the kind words, and the rating and heart!
Comment: Ah. I feel like I've had a summer vacation! Your book is beautiful! Love the stiffness and the size and the playfulness of it! Thank you so much. The person hugging the tree on the back is fantastic! The whole package was great. Love that quote stamp: "Open carefully, this envelope contains creative ideas; if you set them loose, there is no telling what might happen next." Great! Thanks again and thanks for signing up for my swap!!
Response: I'm glad that I got to someone so appreciative of it, since I spent a while on it! Thanks for the rating and the heart!
Comment: Thank you Love the tangle Op Art.I love Zentangles. Never thought to do that Thank you so much for joining the swap, Thanks for the extras
Response: I'm glad that you liked it! I was contemplating my options when I thought, hey, there have got to be some tangles that are optical illusions. I looked around for a while, and then had way too much fun creating what I sent you! I'm glad that it got to a fellow zentangle lover! Thanks for the rating and the heart!
Comment: love it! we have a strawberry farm just up the road...well he sells all kinds of farm food but is famous for sweet strawberries...I even made my daughter and I strawberry costumes many years ago...I managed to open the card without destroying any part of it. thanks
Response: Wow, opening it without destroying it is a serious accomplishment, seeing as it wasn't a very functional envelope. I was wondering if that would make it intact. Well, it did! That's the fun of mail art! Thanks so much for the rating, the heart, and the fun little story.
Comment: WOW!-thanks so much for all the goodies you sent-I love opening an envelope(which was great too by the way) and having wonderful stuff fall out-such a variety of different things-luv it! Thanks for sharing your stash and for the great stamps on the envelope too for my stamp collection-Happy spring!
Response: I'm glad that you liked it! I always try to put a smile on people's faces, and that goes for both the inside and the outside of an envelope ;). Thanks for the rating,💚, and the wonderful comment!
Comment: Thank you for the Red Fox PC. I believe you told the Truth when you stated-I live several miles from a cat rehabilitation center! Was I correct?
Response: I wish I lived near a big cat center, but I do live in a fairly rural area. I did see a wild bobcat last month; it was attacking one of my chickens. I scared it away, and haven't seen it since!
Comment: Hi Trula! Great PC. Hmmmm...I pick #2. You participated in a skiing competition in Colorado?
Response: Good guess, but no, I have participated in the RAGBRAI, in which you ride your bike 500 miles across the state of Iowa in the middle of the summer. I rode last year, and the average temperature during the day was around 115. It was absolutely horrific, and I'll never do it again!
Comment: Super nice job on the card, wished I had that much talent
Response: Thanks for the compliment. That is the first zentangle that I have ever sent out to someone. I want to practice before joining a real zentangle swap, so as not to disappoint. Thanks for the rating and the heart!
