The radiant sun is such a good prayer and I hope you made yourself one too, although mine will be fluttering on the breeze down to you as well in your fab umbrella house. That sounds really neat and will be lovely place to be outdoors in summer. The renewel flag is awesome for spring, it looks like the trees out my window all getting their new leaves. In fact it looks just like my Styrax "Japanese Snowbell" tree which looks like it will only get leaves on the tips at first but then fills in later. The quilting is fantastic. Comment: I have been so speechless about this wonderful, wonderful, WONDERFUL box of goodness you sent me it took me three days to rate. Marina, these flags are so stunning. I secretly jump for joy when I assign partners and I get you as my receive from person. I secretly love that swapbot's random number generator isn't always so random. I am so lucky to get one of your Gelli AND one of your "fused strands of crappy goodness flags". I can't believe how utterly cool this looks in person. Both techniques, fusing and Gelli, wow. I'm sorry I'm rambling I just don't think there are good enough words to match with your talent and to tell you how much I love them. Seriously, you need to open an etsy shop. I will definitely hang them together for love and happiness, and I would really love to hang them in my purple bedroom, along with the Bodhi tree wall hanging in there. I promise to make my own wind so the prayers will still be infused into the Universe. Ok so that Gelli painting on fabric is all kinds of awesome, AND I get the stencil too. I can't wait to try that technique. Next, the daffodils. Where to I begin to say how lovely these dainty 'dils are. These are going to be hanging on the wall panel next to my desk. Cheery and bright. The ultra cool bee suncatcher! Luvvit. Amy will be so jealous. The uuber cool moon cutout from Steve (thanks Steve!), wow I'd like to see a photo of the panel he made if this bit of cool leftover is just a part of it. Oh my I hope I have not forgotten anything. It's one of the prettiest pieces I've ever seen and far and away the nicest piece I've ever received. And, I also love thistles. :) In your note you said that you don't know when to stop, but I'm going to tell you that I think this piece is perfect. If you'd added more I think it might have detracted something, but I truly think every bead you placed added something, and you chose perfect beads. I don't know what I am going to do with your square, but I'm seriously thinking of having it framed. I don't know what you do for a living, but the world will be well served if it is fiber art work. For having just started with colored pencils, you sure are talented. I love your artwork! The poppy you made is so beautiful!!! I dont think you need much practice in blending, youve got it down lol! I really liked that you used a page about Shakespeare, seems fitting :). I couldnt wait and have already put the old seed covers in my garden journal haha I was very surprised to see that you also sent me some lichen (or it might be moss I havent been able to open it yet because for some reason my cat is crazy interested in trying to take it away from me! Maybe its the earthy goodness she smell from Oregon :D) -Oh, but thank you ever so much for this. I almost want to shed a tear because of how thoughtful it was of you to send this to me. I really want to visit and eventually live in Oregon or Washington so receiving a little bit of the area means a lot to me. I wish I would give you more hearts!

I really liked that one - the size of it and the variety of mosses and growies on it paints a great picture. I know, I'm weird. I'm okay with it, so no problems, lol. Comment: This flag is absolutely gorgeous. I love every detail. The hand stitching is incredible as is the beautiful lotus artwork and sparkly ribbons. How clever to use oil crayons! I do hope I achieve enlightenment and purity of thought. I just know it must be possible! Now lets get windy! Speaking of which, evidently we have deer breaking wind out in the woods right next to my prayer flags where the critter cam is. That ought to speed up these prayers blowing in the breeze!

Response: I'm very glad you like it! I really do like sewing on stuff. Compulsive, lol. Once, on the way to a concert in SF, my friend Greg fell asleep next to me in the back of the van, with his legs crossed at the ankles. I was doing some embroidery, but "somehow" Greg ended up with his pant legs sewn together from crotch to cuffs. He didn't think my stitching was very amazing, but I didn't care. Once you fall asleep in a van full of your trouble-making friends, all bets are off!

I think any poor customs officer that tried to open her this time would be so discouraged he'd gave up way before seeing her. :-) I think you did an awesome job, both on taping the package shut as well as on the doll herself. she is so beyond beautiful, I'm really lost for words. this is the single most pretty thing I've ever received in a swap, EVER. Response: Oh, I'm glad you like it. I was having a hard time trying to paint those leaves. Kudzu vines are so beautiful, but I do realize that they are like the ivy here in the PNW that chokes the life out of all the trees. Did you know that it was brought here for the Japanese Gardens at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair? The government planted tons of it as ground cover in the area affected by the dustbowl to help the topsoil from erosion... and then it pretty much just took over!

Response: Yes, the postmistress stamped it and said, "Oh, wow! I almost missed one!" I told her it was a fake and then she felt bad for stamping it. I told her it was cool, that it made it look more real! I used (very carefully) some large scalloped scissors that have a small wave edge. It's hard to cut them, but until I find something that I really like, I will suffer through :-)

Response: I felt like these were very inadequate when I saw some of the other ATCs from this swap. Many of them had wonderful shadows and shading, and then there's mine with none. Response: What crappy fun, huh? I was surprised how a bunch of crap glued on a piece of paper can be so purty! I'm really glad you like the glittery ones, too, because I didn't see anything about glitter at all on your profile, so I figured it was a neutral kind of thing for you. The one I did with my eyes closed was the black and silver one. It's only obvious in one spot that there are about 6 or 7 pieces of paper glued almost exactly on top of each other..lol. I had to take a picture of that one so I could tell where stuff went. Hard gluing pieces down if you can't pick them up, and it's hard picking them up without getting it all mixed up! Comment: Ok, it must be my birthday and that means I've missed summer. Wow! Marina, I love this whole package. The matchbox is far too elaborate just for me, the colors are absolutely me and the crow really sets this atop of all of the matchboxes I've seen out there - it is gorgeous! The beads are a "how'd you know", I love peridot colors as that's my birthstone; and the butterfly is gorgeous too along with the buttons that are very very cute (did you make those? - I gave up on button making). Lovely lovely package. I'm going to go make something using my new beads and butterfly. Thanks so much, gee I wish I could give you more hearts.

Response: You're so sweet. I'm glad you weren't disappointed when it wasn't the Madonna. I really love St. Francis, and he needs to get a higher profile going on! Did you see the stamps on the back? They are copies of stamps that were issued in 1926 celebrating his 700th birthday! Cool, huh?
