Tattoos: as far as feeling the inflammation I would say 48 hours for me is when its the worst and then within the first week the soreness and inflammation disapates. Itching is the most annoying side effect of tattoos lol. Usually in weeks 1-2 it's the worst and then it goes away. If you ever have more questions, just let me know!

Comment: I'm so glad you took good photos — even of the mailing envelope and backs! Maybe some day the originals will actually arrive! It looks like they have some nice textural effects! In the meantime, I printed them on card stock and will put them in their pockets to go with the other alphabet ATCs.

Response: It's been more than a decade since I was in NY so I don't remember Brooklyn's cleanliness - but it's taken a turn down hill in Berlin over the past few years. People are just dumping stuff without a care even though there's recycling for everything :(

Response: I loved the National PArks in the USA when I visited. The USA has much more vast uninhabited land than my part of the world so it was wonderful to go days without civilization anywhere close!

Comment: I was just going through this weeks' mail and what did I find! This swap so disregard my message lol I love the Snoopy ATC! Fun fact: Charles Shultz used to live near my old neighbhorhood wayyyyy back in the day and he had murals on his walls (I had a 95 y/o neighbor I made friends with who knew him which is how I found this out) so kind of cool! I wonder if whomever has bought his old house if they left the murals up.

Comment: Thank you for the very nice watercolor ATC. You would have no way of knowing this, but I actually like power lines! I often photograph them. So your painting is very fitting! I'm saving the very pretty paper you wrapped it in, it will be a fun thing to cut up and use in collages. The postage stamps are so cute, I love them!

Response: I'm sure you will be! For me the key was when I started getting comfortable with either wetting certain areas first (the way I did with the "clouds") and then adding colour blotches into that - or adding intense colour blotches first and then dragging the colour with a wet brush (the person).

Response: An urgent telegram from Agent Lealie: I just found some notes on how to use the watch, I think! If you align the star-chart-thingy to the watch - always keep the turn thing from the wind-up clock aligned with the same thing on the chart. Then start with the clock face (Paper Secrets Society) and check where the starting arrow aligns with a letter. Then on the next image follow the line to the next corner etc. According to the notes it should start with a "C". I think it has as many letters, as there are images in the clock and it follows the lines. The notes have only figured out the first 3 letters: C-O-N. We'll need your help with the rest, please!

Response: I think autocorrect was at work here? I assume you were asking about the earth glow which I wrote about. There's a lot of science behind it, but basically when looking from space there's a glow around earth which occurs when sunlight interacts with atoms and molecules in earth's atmosphere. With high sensitivity cameras it actually looks like the earth has a halo ^^

Comment: Holy FUCK this is magnificent!!! Your watercolor skills are insane. The level of detail you managed to get… I could barely do that in pencil, much less anything liquid. RESPECT.
Response: Thank you for the compliment! I'm learning :) One of the most important lessons I learned the day I drew that ATC is to use a toilet paper (or something else) when the paint is somewhat dry to create wonderful effects with outlines (as seen in the "magic" top left.

Comment: How do you do your scratch art? Mainly the making the blank, ready to scratch. Year ago in school we would do the color part in heavy crayon and then paint over it with dish soap with India ink in it. Also the little plastic sleeve with the glittery side is way cool ☺️
Response: Happy they arrived! How I create the blank for scratching is a little different. I use a very normal copy paper and paint it colourful with oil pastels. Full coverage. And then I take a black oil pastel to paint over the first layer of colourfull oil pastels. ... And then I scratch.
I do recommend to do a full page of ATCs in one go as preparation and not single ATCs. It's a bit messy and a bit of work XD

I just came back from being very sick for almost 2 years. And this is the first "received" comment I hadn't read and noted down in my swap-document. Comment: You aced your section. The tranquil Japanese scene is gorgeous. I'll do my best to do it justice. Regarding weather here in SW Ontario. We've had a couple of days of oddly smoky hazy days. Never experienced this before in my 6 decades of life. The winds are blowing down smoke from forest fires in the northern parts of 2 provinces. There are a lot of forest fires this year. My sister reminded me that we haven't had rain since Mother's Day. It's not awful though, just very strange to experience these new weather patterns in the last few years.

Response: The literal translation from German seems to hold up in English, too: silk paper (Seidenpapier). It's traditionally used to wrap presents, actually. But if it gets wet the color drains onto everything .... :P

I am very happy to hear that you are enjoying my handmade swaps. Handmade swaps tend to be much less popular because it takes more time, effort, and tools/supplie. Sometimes participation gets dangerously close to zero. "Ghost swaps" (like ghost towns) are scaryyy! Yet, I still want to host nothing other than handmade because I value the personal touch and thoughts in handmade cards. To me that is the soul of swapping. Looking forward to more swapping with you!
Response: Up until this moment I never heard about cutting machines for crafting.. I'm fascinated by their existence! After making those cards for the swaps recently I actually bought a cutting mat and craft knifes because cutting the popups with scissors was a bit of a pain ;). I tried it yesterday and it's so much easier!

The others I really don't want to send out so I got a bunch of those and am adding the other values with the smaller flower stamps. 10.Dez.22: As much as I'd love to take credit for this beautiful rating here, I think you might've mixed up two postcards? I sent you a stylized tree in a golden glitter wind/snow thingy... And I don't think I added puffy Santa's, unless I did that after I took the picture of the postcard :)

Comment: My favorite building was a hospital with groth up its sides. IVY? Thank you very much for the pretty cards you sent esp. the one from DDR. I crossed Checkpoint Charlie all these years ago. I was asked how long at the most would I be away. If not back, they would come to look for me. I had a meal. "Sorry not Available" most every thing. Coffee with cream and sugar cost more than without. My favorite building was a hospital with red colored growth up the sides. It was fall. I saw No Man;s Land--the foreign Embassies neglected and abandoned. I travelled a lot then by myself.

Our weather is so crazy here, we’ve had snow and then a few days later it was warm again.
My town does have all of that stuff you mentioned, and I love all of those things yet I’m not a fan of my town lol. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve lived here so long that I’m bored of here but I feel like there isn’t a lot to do around here. I’m sure Germany is way better! Lol.
This year I’m off work for the holiday which is a huge plus, we’re going to spend the day opening gifts, watching holiday movies and eating good food! I can’t wait to see my little ones faces when they wake up Christmas morning, that’s my favorite part of the day!

Response: Ever since I noticed it I went into every shop that sells cards here in Berlin. And my quantitative analysis still supports the initial findings: most are in English. There are some French ones, too, but even less than German.
