Comment: Thank you for the great owl and fox kit PC!!! I love them! I will pass the other onward! It's so exciting that you got to watch all those owlets fledge! We have eagles and they usually only have one or two that fledge, once a year. Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Comment: Thank you so much for the spinning themed pcs! It is nice to be in touch again :- ) And so funny that you were about to send me my own card- good call, to start one of your own. Hope you're well!
Comment: Thank you for the London postcards! I love them. Your pc reminds me of the Fruit Stripe gum, that I used to get when I was younger. Do you have that over there? I will send it out in the next round. =)
Comment: Hi Jenny,
thank you, especially for the extra card. I don't know the town on the postcard but it's on the coast I went to in early summer. So I think it's really fate you got this postcard!
Comment: Thank you for the pretty blue block, the 2 FQs, and the lovely braided star ornaments! Hugs, Terry (Sent 15 months after swap deadline.)
Response: I'm sorry they were so late, but I'm glad you like them. :-)
Added 16 Aug 2014: just to avoid any confusion - Terry changed this rating from a 5 to a 3 in August 2014 (as she was entitled to do), but the block was not sent **that** late. It was sent in February 2009 and the original rating was soon after that.
Comment: Dear Jenny, thank you for the three travelling postcards and the two extras, and for the dinosaur stamp! I’ll definitely send on at least two of the cards and will see whether the third one will be full when I’m done or whether one more person can squeeze in a line.
Comment: Thanks for making me smile! It's a really cute card. Coincidentally my card in this swap had a similar bird. I wonder if I can get Gracie or Lina to do this...they already know how to do the stick part. :)
Response: If you can get them to do it, we (TKT) need to see a photo. :-)
Comment: Hello Jenny,
Thank you for the 3 postcards I received today. Two of the postcards are for sending on and one of the postcards is for me. I will get the two ready to pass on and I will add the map one you sent me added to my collection. Thank you for your kind note too. Happy Swapping.
Comment: I must have mis marked this on your name...IDid recieve your card and it was wonderful..I really thought I gave to a 5 and a ♥..I will do that now!!!!!! Sorry so late...THe hostess angeled me for the other one I didn't recieve.....so now I can archive this swap.....hugs 'n hearts
Response: I'm glad you did receive it and liked it. Thank you for the ♥! :-)
Comment: Thanks for the great quotes and the Reading postcard. One of my friends grew up in Reading (and her sister moved back there from the states) so I am very happy to have a postcard for my collection.
Comment: Thank you Jenny for coming to my aid and sending a beautiful London Olympics postcard (and the others too), along with the commemorative stamps. It's a pleasure to exchange with you ♥ Thank you ever so much. V.
Response: Thanks you for the ♥! I've enjoyed this swap very much!
Comment: Thank you for the postcard . I like trees very much too : D Im glad to get a postcard from someone in England as I have stayed there for a while long time ago . Which part of England do you live ?
Response: I'm glad you liked it! I'm in Berkshire, about 40 miles due West of London.
Comment: You, my dear, dear friend, know me entirely too well. You could not have chosen a more perfect postcard. I truly needed that laugh.
As for the quotes, Stephen Fry has nailed it on the head. As usual.
Comment: Hello Jenny,
Thank you for sharing your 3 quotes about art. Each was a thoughtful quote. All of them encouraged you make your art. This is the first time I have swapped with you and it has been a pleasure.
Response: You are very welcome! I hope we get to swap again.
Comment: Hello Jenny,
Thank you Jenny for your Quotecard Postcard with your 3 quotes about experience. I liked all three quotes, but especially liked the following one, "Experience is not what to you, it is what you do with happens to you." I will proudly add your quotes to my Quotation Collection.
Comment: koekjes zouden verplicht moeten zijn bij swaps georganiseerd door een chefkok!
and comments should all be written in Dutch, vive la revolution! (ETA, I'm sorry, the heart didn't seem to stick)
Comment: Great collection of poems. Thought provoking and "real." But i too ,especially like the one abou the cats. My sister-in-law just got 2 a month ago and it is quite an amusement watching them in their antics when I go visit her. Thanks for sending. I will also check out the websites you listed.
Comment: A fellow weaver :- ) Thank you so much for the lovely cards and poems. The loom on the front of the card is big like mine, but my beater pivots from the bottom, not the top. I love your choice of poetry
Comment: Hi Jenny - good to swap with you again! Great quote - love what the Dalai Lama says... such a wise man. Loved the postcard and most of all I LOVED THE STAMP!! Was it for some celebration of AA Milne?
Response: I thought you'd appreciate that stamp :-). The European postal organisations decided to each issue a stamp set based on children's books, and the Royal Mail chose Winnie the Pooh.
Comment: I think I got those three Quotes together once before...Could it have been from you? How fun!
Response: Not me - I've sent out the Cook and Pearce ones before, but not together and not the Scudder one, and I haven't sent to you before, at least not unless you have changed your username. I find it interesting that someone else chose the same quotes, though.
Comment: Thanks so much!! Been reading about the sitch there---wishing you the best. The quotes are fabulous! Arrived on a day I had a meeting with a team of youth leaders who are working to register young voters and get them involved in our fight in NYC to open the primaries to all independents... THANKS
Comment: Totally disappointed. After not receiving anything, pm more than once and was told you will still attempt to make my embroidery. 5 MONTHS!!!! later and still nothing. But you can still manage to do other swaps. Not Happy!!!!!
Response: A fair rating - as I explained, the other swaps have been mostly easy ones for me (postcards and books) or ones I was already committed to from last year and have not affected me working on yours, but I do understand how it looks from your perspective. Yes, I am still working on it, and you will get it eventually, and I trust you to change the rating when you do.
Comment: I found this package tonight (amazing!) hidden among my J-term papers, and I'm so sad I didn't find it earlier because Jenny sent me some really lovely goodies! Thank you for the lovely sewing purse, and the pin cushion is really beyond cute. Thank you!
Response: I'm so glad you found it, and that you like them! Thanks for the heart!
Comment: I am gobsmacked! The quilt squares are fab & bright...very nice job. Thank you so much! I don't even know what to say about the rest...I'm shocked, amazed, speechless & honored all at once. ♥♥♥ Thank you!!! ♥♥♥
Comment: So, I scarfed down the Green and Black's before the bear gets home. It only took a minute, urp. I love Green and Black's; we can get it here at the glorious Shoppers Drug Mart (which is no Boots, but a very acceptable substitution). The book with STARS is magnificent. I have a pencil case in my bag which holds my Moleskine, food journal, and now my lovely little star journal is joining them. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! xoxox j
Comment: mmmmm..... mmmmm..... mmmmm...... OMG! I think I have a new fave chocolate. OMG! I. need. more. The note book is sweet too. If this is your first attempt, I can't wait to see the others. You did a really good job on this one, in my opinion. I liked this swap a lot!
Response: I'm glad you like the chocolate -it's one of my favourites too. It's not my first notebook, just the first using that method of attaching the cover. I'm glad you like that too. I love that red washi paper.
Comment: Thanks again, Jenny! I think this is going to be fun to work on, and I hope HelenJoy enjoys the result of this Jenny-and-Rebecca collaboration. (And thanks for emailing me so quickly when I couldn't get Flickr to cooperate. It's rare in life to have problems so quickly addressed/solved!)
Response: Well, the Flickr problem was my fault, so the least I could do was fix it promptly. I am looking forward to seeing what you do with the doodle. :-)
Comment: What a cute postcard! Loved the Smarties heart. Also wanted to ask you, what sort of medium did you use to draw the 3 hearts? You deserve the heart!
Response: Wow, that got to you quickly considering our mail strikes and Malaysia's reputation for mail problems. The hearts were drawn with an embossing pen and then I used red heat-embossing powder. Thank you for the heart!
Comment: JENNY...SQUEAL!! Oh my gosh..Thank you so much for the wonderful package!!! I LOVE it! From the "purple flowers" on my toadstool to the AWESOME wool!! Awesome, awesome package!! I wish I could give you MORE hearts!!! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Comment: Thanks Jenny! Ya know? I'm a **DUNCE**! I failed to include a quote on the card I sent out... oops. I like the cat quote... *Its really the cat's house, we just pay the mortgage.* cute and true! haha
Comment: What a wonderful package I received today!! Thank you so much for the black FQ and the extra autumn and rooster fabric. My brain is turning on how to use those handsome roosters. =) Thanks so much!
Comment: Thanks so much for the beautiful batik fabric for the FQ's and friend's purple swap! They are both very beautiful and the purple I will be able to use for a project I am making! Thanks so much love and peace mary
Response: Wow, that arrived quickly! I'm glad you like it. :-)
Comment: This was a fantastic package!!!!!!! I can't believe all the yummy-looking chocolate that you sent! So many fun new kinds to try! And it was so generous of you to send so much hot chocolate! I will certainly share the Malteaser kind with my mother. :-) And the fabric is absolutely adorable!!!!! I just love it! It is the cutest fabric I've received in a long time. And the red batik is beautiful! I can't wait to use it - I'm thinking that it might want to be a bag but I'm going to wait and see. Thank you so much for such a wonderful swap! You deserve 10 hearts!
Response: I'm glad you like it all - I've had the fabric for a while, having sent the other half to a chocolatier friend, but seeing that batik that day in a store which does not usually sell it was pure chance. I was too rushed to look at other colours, but I went back the next week and bought 8 different ones for myself. As for the chocolate, you can't have too many new types to try, can you? :-)
Comment: The card came through in great shape and I really like it! I'm sorry I missed out on one of your fabric cards though! :) I'll just have to hope I get you in another swap! The quote is cool today. I'll do my best to be happy today and hope you do too!
Response: I'm glad it got through safely and that you like it. I'd love to send you a fabric card some time, if I draw you as a partner or as a private swap. Today has been a happy day, and your heart made it even happier. :-)
Comment: i wish i could give you more than one heart.....the blue fabric is perfect for a project that i am working on now and the "fancy cakes" fabric is THE BEST!!
i also love the post card and plan on framing it :)
thank you so much!
Comment: Oh, Jenny, why did you do that to me?!? I love the chocolate bar that you sent to me and of course it is from England. Thats going to be an expensive habit to keep up! I love the FQ you sent, I have it in the green but not the blue. Thanks so much.
Response: LOL, we can trade again sometime if you crave the chocolate too much. I'm glad you like the cat fabric. :-)
Comment: thank you for the nice Buddha quote. :) i guess a lot of people don't realize that Buddhists and Christians have the same morals and most of the same beliefs... especially when it comes to questioning. i LOVE the quote and the postcard! thanks!
Comment: Jenny Wren, you know me too well, yes sometimes I choose to be positive just because it does annoy people so much, and I love French gardens as much as English gardens as long as they are country gardens.
Comment: What a great postcard- I have been spending lot of time shooting the foliage here this Autumn. I grew up in Florida and there is no such thing as seasons there! It's green or it's dead...haha!
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful quilted ATC! I loooooove it! I have wanted to see something quilted like this for a while and it really makes me want to try my hand at quilting! Love the Halloween card too! We don't have anything like that Bedford! :( Thanks again! :D xx
Response: Thanks for my 100th heart! I'm glad you like it. I'm never sure how partners will respond to non-standard ATCs. Do give it a try. as they are a great way to start patchwork/quilting (as are fabric postcards).
Comment: Nice piece of red fabric. Thank you Jenny & the little frog notecards are darling. It won't let me give you a heart right now But this has happened many times before & I will come back later & it will let me then....LOL
Response: LOL, thanks for coming back to give the heart! I'm glad you like the notecards too. :-)
Comment: *Squeal!* I love the little sheep notebook!!!!!!!! Love it, love it, LOVE IT! And I cannot wait to try the Cadbury drink and my mother is going to love the Revels. But the notebook is sooooo cute!!! It does present a bit of a problem, though, because now I have decide whether to keep it for myself or give it to my mother! You are a fabulous swapper! I wish I could give you two hearts!
Response: I'm glad you like the notebook - I thought it very cute too. :-)
Comment: Thank-you for my wonderful package, I love everything! The gorgeous roll of fabric was a delight to my senses. They look so wonderful together I'm loathe to take them apart :) I am in love with my owl, please share the pattern with me. I also adore the snake bookmark, such wonderful work. Thank-you so much for such a great swap!
Response: I'm glad you liked it.
The owl is a traditional Japanese design. There are links to 2 tutorials on my Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/spinjenny/2808067439/), as well as to JennyTheArtist's owls which initially inspired me.
Comment: thank you for the quote - very true! Have you tried to make a kusudama yet? there are some good how to videos on youtube...
Response: Thanks for the heart! I've made a few of the individual elements for a couple of the ones I found on youtube, and I've also made a 5-piece flower from "The Peace of Paper" site, but I haven't made enough of any of them to assemble into a kusudama yet. I will eventually, though.
Comment: pretty, pretty, pretty purple!!! i love this postcard, it's gorgeous!!! thank you!!!
Response: Thank you for the heart, and I am so glad you like the card! I am also very, very relieved that it made it to you safely, as it is the first time I've risked adding beads to a 'naked' postcard.
Comment: I love the Pooh card!! I collect Pooh related items so it was the perfect postcard for me and it will be going in my Pooh and friends scrapbook. I also enjoyed the Jane Austin quote and will be adding it to my quote notebook!!
Response: Thanks for the heart! I'm glad you like it. I saw the Pooh reference in your profile, so I knew that card needed to be yours. :-)
Comment: Thankyou so much Jenny! Getting your package really helped turn my day from a stressful one into a grand one (honestly, I don't think you'd realise how great the timing was). I absolutely loved *everything* you sent! I went for a walk through the park with my son and studied every card. Thanks so much :)
Response: I'm glad you liked them, and that they arrived at such a useful time. :-)
Comment: Loved the cupcake postcard! This was a great smelling package! When I first got it, I could smell the Lady Grey tea! Thanks so much for taking the time to write the names and individually package them! Great teas! Can't wait to try them! Thanks so much!
Response: Wow, that reached you quickly! I hope you enjoy the teas. I love the smell of the Lady Grey too :-)
Comment: Thank you for the purple postcard. What do you use for the middle part to make it so stiff? It's nice:)
Response: Thanks, Kaye! It is just the heaviest weight ordinary non-fusible interfacing, but I used 2 layers to stiffen it more. I don't have access to the special interfacings like Timtex or Peltex locally.
Comment: Thanks for the lovely postcard! It arrived in PERFECT condition, the stamp wasn't even cancelled ... no postmark at all, which seems weird, but it made it!! I love how you personalized it with my intials, too! :D
Comment: Oooh thank you for the postcard! Sorry it took my so long to rate. I loved this card! The quote was awesome, and the postcard itself is now being used as decoration for my room hahaha thank you!!!
Comment: very nice. Would love to know how you made the Y postcard!
Response: Thanks for the heart! I 'drew' the Y shape by creating it as text in Corel Draw (though you could do it in a program like Word, I am sure), playing around with font size till it was right, then printed it and cut it out to form a background stencil. Then I just played with the Ys from my alphabet stamps and suitable colour ink pads, finishing with embossing powder - effective but quite simple in principle.
Comment: Hello Jenny,
Sorry I missed rating you but here I go. Thank you so much for the wonderful collection of paper you so generously shared with me. I have already used some of the paper you shared with me and some I have set back to use in the future so I can make it stretch. We have swapped on a number of occasions and I hope we get to in the future. Until we do again--Happy Swapping!!!
P.S. Thanks for the reminder.
Comment: Jenny, what a treat to get a little glimpse into your life. I absolutely loved the ruined building with the stained glass, and was interested to see that you've got honeysuckle vine, too. Great pix! Thanks!
Response: Thanks! That was the one that pleased me most as it was pure serendipity, and if I hadn't been doing this project, I would not have had a camera with me to record it.
Comment: Great card! What did you use for background? Very nice and textured. Thanks for swapping!
Response: My husband found that paper in an art shop near his workplace and realised I would love it for papercrafts. The shop owner said he had it for years and had no idea where he got it. We bought almost all his stock - 8 A4 sheets. It has an amazing hand, like cloth.
Comment: I love the ATCs you did. and never would have guessed that they were your first. The Klee quote was such a good one for me. I am insecure about my artistic ability, and this quote makes me want to take a line for a walk! I fell in love with the frog -- and green is my favorite color, so I really liked how the card made me feel. Thank you, thank you!
P.S. I'm sorry not to have constructive criticism, but I was very satisfied.
Comment: Completly loved the package all the bits and pieces. The froggy notecards were a hit! This is the stuff I like; )
Thank you sooooooooooo much. If I could you would have gotten some more hearts.
Comment: I want say special thankyou,to Jenny, got nice card think was two cards and great little package with cool punchies and somenew atc cards yea:}plus cool froggie bookmark.Couldnt wait to open it,made my day here alot better.

Comment: Thank you for the lovely bookmarks! I've never even heard of bobbin lace before. I think I may try it cause it is so cute :)
Response: I'm glad you liked it, sara. It isn't typical of bobbin lace, but the snakes are quite easy. I don't do much lace lately, but it is nice to have an excuse to do a bit more every now and then. Here are a couple of links to basic instructions:
Comment: Grin Jenny sent me three balls of lace yarn. A lovely oatmeal and a deep grey for a pi I have been working on and an unexpected dark blue ball :) OH and two large chocolate bars all the way from the UK YUMMMM
