Your vogue image transfer on the outer envie turned out so great too. I just started Gelli printing and haven’t quite gotten that technique down, but it could be the cheap paints I’m using too. I also really loved the various rubber stamps you used-you have a nice assortment!

Comment: Thanks for another fabulous swap! As soon as I saw the ornaments I though it looked like skin. LOL I immediately went and watched the Demeng video and it is a cool technique. Can't wait to try it. Where do you buy your Kroma crackle? I love the starlight ornament too. Your layers are so delicious. And thank for the ephemera too. Can't have too much woodland stuff! Your 100 Days Project sounds wonderful. I never was much on writing a diary but last year would have been a great year to start. Esp. through artwork. And your project this year sounds like so much fun. I did a 9 ATC pocket letter on my favorite songs and it was really enjoyable. Would love to see your finished projects someday. Comment: As I have come to expect your ornaments this year are spectacular! The polymer clay snowflake is beautiful. I never have done any clay work so I love receiving your perfect treasures. The paper ornaments you make are more my speed but I don't know where you get those lovely paper bases you alter. From local craft stores? I love the heart because you really need to look "into the depths" to see the black veining and detail. Very cool. But the round one is my favorite by far. Beautiful colors and textures and layers. Thanks again for swapping with me again this year. It is always an inspiration and a pleasure! <3<3<3
Response: I am so happy you like everything! The bases for my paper ornaments I do indeed buy at craft stores. Sometimes Amazon has them as well. The round one was made by gluing script-stamped tissue paper over the gesso'ed base, then adding a layer of rice paper that I decorated. Here's how - you scrape string gel through a stencil and let dry, then use watered down acrylic paint to add color. I love the effect! Thank you so much for a stellar rating, and for swapping with me again, my friend! :)

Comment: Wow Jessica! As always, your ornaments are spectacular! I have played with similar glass ornaments using acrylic paints but love the shimmery effect you achieved using alcohol inks. I wish I could watch you make some of your paper mache ornaments. I stare and stare at them and can't figure out how the heck you did it! lol. Love the shine/matte areas on the star and the textures you created. But the white floral circle is over the top gorgeous. These will definitely stay out in my studio all year round! Comment: Well once again your swap package blew me away. The pretty box and beautiful woodland card are both lovely. But your ornaments are spectacular. I love the round sunflower -- you achieved an amazing amount of texture detail with your stencil. And it arrived in perfect condition. The purple crackle light bulb is amazing with its depth of color and consistency of crackle texture. Both are up in my living room and will probably stay up all year lol. Comment: Hi again :-) . . . I love your postcard, it's so colorful and has interesting patterns. What did you use to make the paint so shiny? Is it the paint, or is it something you put on over the paint? As you can tell, I don't know very much about multi/mixed media art. I'm learning some things, but it's not what I usually do. It looks to me like you know a lot and have probably been making multi-layered art for a long time. I really love the layers you achieved.
Response: I am so glad you liked it! The shine comes from a coat of Triple Thick sealer I sprayed on at the end. Love that stuff! Layers are so necessary in the things I create! You can achieve some wonderful effects via layers. Thanks for joining my swap, and for the heart!

Did you use triple thick to seal it? I'm doing very little decorating this year but your new ornament will be front and center (and your eggshell snowflake is up year-round). Response: I am so very happy you like it! I did use triple thick to seal it, and the metallic rubbing/buffing wax gives that awesome look of real metal. Love that stuff! It warms my heart that my ornaments are on display at your home, and that the snowflake is up year round. That's my favorite morning hike. The east entrance is five minutes from my doorstep. As for the swap, everything is fabulous! I especially like the circles print. (I think I was a circle in a former geometric life.) The bookmark and ATC are great! I so appreciate you giving me such fun examples of Gelli print products! Your alcohol ink pages are beautiful, as well. Do you spray them with something to get those open areas? Nice, nice, nice! Thank you very much!

I spritz a little when the ink's still wet, then come back after it's dried and spritz again. I love the effect. I must admit, I'm terribly jealous that you're so close to the monument. The beading on the tie and the crinkle ribbon matches so prettily. And my fave citrus colors too. The deli paper wrapping is another work of art in itself, and of course the notecard as well. As usual it was filled with so many creative and beautiful things, it took at least 20 minutes to go through it all unwrapping each piece like a treasure. Everything is great- the fragments and charms, gears, and the variety of leaves! I'm not the biggest fan of autumn leaves, but the colors and patterns (and stamping?) on these are beautiful. The colors are perfect and they are just so cool and representative of the movie, but not in a super-obvious way. Love them!! I have been staring at them both trying to figure out how you did them! I can't wait for my husband to see them when he gets home. Your zentangle is really beautiful!! The pen work is SO fine. Definitely going up on my wall in my craft room! And the notecards. Holy cow. Comment: Thanks Jessica, I love your card! The colours are superb - this is my favourite palette. We had similar ideas for this swap, but I used spackle instead of modeling paste. Art supplies that you get from a hardware store are always cheaper!

Response: You're very welcome! This was a really fun swap! To get that effect, i used modeling paste to build up the texture, then painted layers of acrylic paint. The images are from stamps i carved, except the hand - that was a homemade mask that i splattered acrylic ink over. Thanks for the great rating!

Comment: As always, your inchies are amazing! I'm particularly fond of the hand (reminds me of Julia in the second Hellraiser movie...if you know what I mean? She had no skin, it was awesome). Oh and I love the zombie with the brain protruding from his head! LOL I thought maybe the brain was detachable so I couldn't help but tug on it...nope, must still be connected. :P
Response: Yay! i like that the hand reminds you of Hellraiser. The zombie is actually a handcarved stamp of a clip-art image, well, the head. The brain i drew. i actually tried to think of a way to have the brain slide in and out without adding too much bulk, but came up short. i'm so happy you like them! :) Thanks for the great rating!

The Tim Holtz re-inkers I have been dying for and you found 2 of them!! The papers, the handmade gift tags and extra stamped images, the watercolour pencils, the resist stamp pad, just all of it was exceptional! I especially love the Handmade book you made to give me tips on using the watercolour pencils and resist pad. Comment: Packages like these exemplify the reason hearts were invented; from the outside envelope stamped with a baroque swirl of stylized leaves, a diving swallow, and my name, to the beautifully-executed ATCs in matching swirls, birds (and my favorite colours) in their own onionskin envie.... and what shall I say about the scattering of delicately patterned punched-paper doves that topped an assortment of RAK artpaper 'scraps' (though the word is unfair to apply to such lovely and carefully-cut pieces of colour and texture....)? Elegantly-presented, thoughtfully chosen, and charmingly introduced with their own letter. I will definitely be up for a private swap with Jessica in the future! Comment: This card is really gorgeous - I thought about doing the Northern Lights but didn't come up with a way to capture them effectively. You sure did, though! Plus you sent it with a lovely greeting card and a pretty envelope. Great swap!

Response: Yay! i'm so glad you like it. And thank you for my first heart! It's actually not embossed - i used dimensinal glaze, then sealed the whole thing with glossy varnish. It was really fun to make.
