Response: I forgot to take a photo of each specific swap but I think the envelopes were made from extra covers of a magazine called RubberstampMadness. I did the cover art:) I had all these extras lying around and thought they'd make fun envelopes. Glad you liked everything, have fun with it:)

Interestingly, I got a page from an Edgar Allen Poe poem in another swap. The anatomical heart card is coming together with a theme.

I found the foreign language books at the thrift store...now I make sure I always look at the Library areas;) And the napkins I got at a cool store call Tuesday Morning (but alas the one near my house closed during covid lockdown:( But I checked out Merimekko, cool stuff and yes it does look similar. I picked them up because I liked the tribal look to them. Swedish design...very nice. The envelope was some of my artwork I had scanned and printed out. Hope you can make something fun out of my stash. Take care.

I've been trying to start an artist book with the theme of bees but of course I get lost in gathering the resource materials and haven't moved forward yet. Oh -- how was Phillip Phillips? I was so glad he won Idol -- and yes, I agree Hollywood Anderson will be a top contender this season!

I've started the FEB one and I see they've posted the MAR, APR, MAY mini zines (I'm watching those swaps but will probably sign up) Phillip Phillips was wonderful. He's SOOOOO laid back, I remarked to my hubby that it looked like he had just rolled out of bed:) It was a small venue and it was so weird between songs people were so quiet until he talked to us:) It was a low-key crowd (we saw him in Canada) and he kept trying to get us up to dance. Eventually he won out and toward the end the "youngins" made thier way to the stage and stood there to watch. He liked that:) Sang my favorites "Unpack Your Heart" and "Fly":) And that man can play the guitar. Did a lot of jamming with the band. All in all it was fun and my husband (who did a lot of eye-rolling at my enthusiasm) actually said it was pretty good:) YAY! I miss Tyler on Idol but Keith, Jennifer and Harry are hysterically entertaining. Especially Harry:) Anyway, I'll quit jibber jabbering:) Take care:)

Response: It is...I wish I could find a way to make the end result matte. It's the shininess that throws me off when I collage with it. I found stencils that had bolder patterns, more open areas to let the magazine image through worked best. Anyway glad you like the card. Take care!

I sent an email to see if they even sell it anymore:( And HA...I wish I drew it. Even when I was in the practice of drawing regularly don't think I would have been able. Hmmm. Is it possible to even narrow it down to a favorite category, much less an item? Oh my, let me look again...and again...and again. You are a rock star!!! I love that big fish cut from an old book just as much as I love the library pockets. Wild and crazy over all the postcards, particularly the Rubberstampmadness cards!!!! Woo Hoo!!! Love all the book pages and ATC background papers. Did you make all those? Love the labels from the Giza bottle and the Geisha apple crate. Your ledger book pages are unlike any I've seen. Thumbs up on those! Crazy about the elephant paper lips and the rubber stamp! YOWZA!!! I know what my favorite has to be...2 of the photos. The one with the dame in her mink coat and the one of the men with the chinaman. Horn honking, bugle blowing, foot stomping glee in an envelope, that's what you've sent me!! The hug was great too:) The background is actually from a larger piece of artwork that I didn't like how it turned out :) Instead of trashing it I cut it up and reuse for backgrounds. Seems to work. Unfortunately, my brother-in-law needed bigger explosions and suggested using plastic bottles:( not a good thing, one blew up in my nephews hand, actually shredded the bottle, he went deaf for a few minutes but fortunately did draw blood or poke an eye out. that needless to say was then end of that "craft". Glad you like it. it was fun to gather the info together. Not sure what I'm going to do next year. Maybe try and make zines since we didn't get to those paper crafts because it rained quite a bit this year. take care

I think my favorites are the organic vegetable rubberbands & the tea collage. So innovative! Thanks so much for the obvious time and care you put into creating them. I hope you had fun!
Response: I did!!! The rubberband was my fav too. That came late in the day after I finally got my juices flowing:) I went out and bought thicker bands and plan to rubberstamp on them and see what I can do with that. Please add to them and make them your own:) Glad you're enjoying them.

Response: Glad you liked them...I use Strathmore Illustration board. I think it was 140 # weight. I buy it using a 40% coupon from JoAnn Fabrics or Michaels art supply...it is a little expensive but I like the heft and it works great with acrylics and pencil.

Comment: 4 gorgeous ATCs landed on my doormat this morning, with an ATC-sized copy of the full picture too. They're glorious - I'd love to know how you made the original!
Response: So glad you like them:) I painted the full size picture using acrylics on stretched 5 x 7 canvas. The face was a heat set transfer using a photocopy of an anitque picture and I melted the toner from the copy onto the surface of the canvas using a wood burning tool with a flat tip. I also used bits of collage material and graphite pencil to highlight the face and heart shape.

Response: Thank you so much! These are some of the first hand-drawn cards I've tried. I took a workshop called Illustrated Watercolor Journaling with Christina Lopp back in May (http://www.watercolorjournaling.com/). Had a blast and have been drawing ever since. Also, Danny Gregory has been a huge inspiration as well...he just draws whatever's in front of him!
