Response: I am so glad you liked it. Before i decided on the shortbread cookies I was planning to use a button with a thistle on it... I was so sure i had seen one in my button collection But after searching thru my suitcase of buttons with no go... my husband banned me from ever buying another jar of buttons at a flea market... sigh... I had him searching for it too.... but actually the cookies i think tied into the scottie better don't you think?
Response: thank you. Always trying to stretch and learn new art skills... I am very much a beginner with water colors. I am glad you liked it.
Response: thank you. I am glad you were happy with my atc
Response: Thank you. I got another one of the kind of atcs i mentioned in the note... kind of bummed.
Response: thank you .. I am relieved. I really was quite nervous. I thought maybe the one with the gears and watch face could reach out to your "steam punk" heart with my love of that extra hour of autumn sleep... but i didn't go as far as i could with the steam punk idea... ( we need a few steam punk atc swaps don't we?) have a great day and I hope to see you around the next swapbot corner.
Response: It is funny you should mention Chanel... It crossed my mind about those tweedy jackets when i put the "buckle" on it... Not intentional but glad we shared a similar thought. I am neither funny or clever with intention... for me the best comes out spontaneously.
Response: I am glad you liked my kitty. If you are at all interested in having some trims of that kind and many others... I have tons. most are only small samples off cards that interior designers use to show clients... most are 3 inches - 6 inches... but i also have tassles and fringes... I can't stand the idea of all that retired sample stuff going to a landfill... i would be happy to send you a variety pack if you pay for postage... Let me know and pass the word on... i use it for so many things... atcs, doll hair.. decorating hair accessories... clothes pins etc... But i will never be able to use the laundry baskets full that i have !
Response: Thank you I am so glad you enjoyed the bits along with the atc
Response: Thank you for your warm rating. I love hearing what folks like etc in the rating... it helps me be a better swapper. I think Jinx is a great name... and Tom is a lucky one.
Response: I am sorry. I made several rolos before i came up with a version that i liked. I am sorry that I sent you one without a decorated back. Totally my oversight. I have a personal need to resend you a complete rolo,. Again I am sorry my first effort was disappointing.
Response: Glad you liked them Yes the sheep is my favorite as well. Another trio is up if you are interested. Hope to see you in swap world again soon
Response: I am happy you were pleased. Fun to see everyone's take on the themes. ( do you have pics of yours since i did not get to see them , sigh) I also love the Griffin and Sabine series. Happy to see you are signed up for the next atc swap as well. Life is good. Hugs.
Response: I am so glad someone noticed the 'grass" cloth paper. I found it at Marshall's months ago... It is wrapping paper.! they have some of the coolest papers if you keep an eye out.. ( low $ too) Thank you for the detailed review. You are my first for this swap and i was beginning to wonder. I have not been to Hawaii YET. This has been a fun swap made even better with you in it. I feel lucky we got to be partners. Aloha
Response: Thank you No worries on rating. I am just happy you liked it. Have a great summer
Response: Thank you. I always love your swaps and I must say I worry that I won't do them justice. I am glad you were pleased. Looking to see what is next for you. <3
Response: thank you i will do better my fav glue ran out and thought the tape would hold.
Response: So glad you like them . Enjoy.
Response: Wow! I wonder if you cold explain what I could have done to earn hearts. I made an effort to create something unique and without relying on a traditional format for my card. I explained it all in my note. I included extras just for fun... not as a heart bribe...but just wonder what more you expected. It was also not a flimsy card. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Response: I have hoof prints again... and darn it if it doesn't get me up several times a night to see if i can spy on them... but alas..no actual deer sighting in the yard yet in 2014! But extra exercise from doing the stairs 3x a night !
Response: I am sorry about the stars... I did a test turn and they worked. What is it with the mail that sometimes things go thru fine and other times there seem to be little gremlins? I used a glue that was suppose to be good for embellishments. AGain I am sorry.
Response: Hmmm usually i write that on the envelope. Perhaps the tape covered it.
Glad you took the time to figure it out. Thank you.
Response: Just to improve my skills and to learn from others, I wondered what I could have done differently on my atc to earn a heart from you?
Response: I found the envies at a garage sale .. not sure what they were originally for. bought a whole box of those and think they are grand.... I also found a big box of unused library pockets at a thrift store... so keep your eyes open for those kinds of things in unexpected places.
Response: My husband told me not to send it... he never says much so I thought he meant it wasn't that good. He told me later he thought it would be nice on his memo board. Enjoy it. Glad Sam got good reviews all around.
Response: I am so glad you liked them. I figured if i had to use a big envelope to send them I might as well pack it in LOL. I am always amazed at the $$$ note cards i find at thrifts.. often they are from museums, or sort of exotic ones... made with dried flowers or butterflies... I think many of the complete sets come from people who gave them as gifts after a vacation??? Not everyone appreciates them anymore. But WE DO! Enjoy!
Response: You are right. I was being too sensitive. I was wrong to make any comment comparing our parenting and children. I was wrong on everything. I AM SORRY. I am asking forgiveness for my earlier response to your rating. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me.
Response: You are so kind about the jelly fish... I wasn't all that pleased. I would love to see what you come up with. I too love the jelly fish tanks ... I have seen these new desk top jelly fish tanks on line... but i would be afraid i would kill mine.... but i do dream of going someday to swim in one of those non toxic jellyfish lakes... just dreaming probably. Once as a kid i was camping in FL and in the lagoon tide pools i found a real seahorse... It was amazing... never before and never after have i seen one there... It was tiny.. maybe an inch big but about 40 years later i still remember it! Have a great day Betsy
Response: I think there has been a mistake... I have not sent mine out yet. In fact i only started working on mine last night.
Response: Jack and Jill would have been a fun way to do them. I didn't think of that. I was just trying to go with a Jack. I enjoy doing these as well.. somehow i have missed the sign up for queens and tens.. bummer... but i hope to do the rest of the deck. Thank you for the rating and comments.
Response: this may sound really dumb... but I have been doing my atcs in a fog due to some health issues with my sister... many cards have been made in the middle of the night... since you used the word unusual, i am not curious as to what the card looked like. I cannot recall what i did at all... can you describe it for me... Ok.. laugh at me all you want.. I am laughing at myself too.
Response: so glad you liked it. As you can tell it wasn't a super duper heirloom but someone spent time on it and I think that means it deserves to be appreciated... An ATC is probably better life than it has seen LOL Thanks for telling me you liked it.
Response: My husband used the same quote when he saw it! Great movie. Glad you liked the card.
Response: glad you like it. I made one to keep for myself! I have had that stamp for a while...It seemed the perfect place to use it! A premier!
Response: I am glad you like her and the extras. I ended up using a bit of glue her to make sure the armor didn't desquinize (yes made up word) I try not to use it much. When you are off to save the world... or france.. one cannot worry about ones secquines. Ok.. too many notes to spell check. Best finish. Au revoir!
Response: You have a very good visual memory! Yes it is Sally... I have a reprinted book of the dick and jane series. Glad you enjoyed the card and the memories. It was a fun one for me too.
Response: Thank you for liking her. I had a lot of fun making one for you and for me. My 22 year old son and his new bride are living in Dublin and working on graduate degrees at the university of Dub. So all things Irish are close to my heart this year. They are living in a 200 year old flat that is only heated with a woodburning fireplace and the windows still have the wavy glass. Still wonderful way to spend first year of marriage. Happy St. Pats to you too.
Response: Glad you liked it. I enjoyed reminding myself of how fun thermal embossing is. Sometimes we move onto the newest and latest techniques and forget how fabulous older ones are. I vow to do more embossing in the near future. Its like alchemy!!!
Response: I am glad you liked the owl. I was struggling not to have to go to my basement studio as it was soooooooooooo cold down there. I used paper I had upstairs. The tape i think came from michaels.
Response: so glad you like her. Its the first dotee of mine to be photographed! I am so hooked on making these ladies. I am always glad when they find a nice home. Thank you for the words of kindness. Betsy
Response: thank you. I was hoping you would like her. I made one to put on my Christmas tree. It was a fun doll to make... I think most of us have an inner fairy... this was her chance to shine. Some people don't seem to like my take on the dotees.. i was told too much detail and too much fashion... but this is what i like so its what i send. Glad you liked her. Merry Christmas.
Response: I am so glad you liked her. She was a fun one to make. ( better than the brown one LOL) Have a great Christmas and I hope to see you again in more dotee swaps.
Response: I think they are some type of jewelry tag. I found a giant roll of them... (the roll is huge like a big roll of raffle tickets) at a thrift store for a few bucks... I have since then found that there use to be a denver store by that name... If find a great way to use them and want some more... just let me know.. Ill never be able to use them all. And I don't know any great ideas except to color and stamp on them... but they needed to come home with me. Glad you liked the atc. The chair paper was from a book cover on an old japanese dictionary... Like a protective cover.
Response: I am so glad you liked this one. I wish i had gotten it to you a bit earlier so that perhaps you could have used on a fall wreath or something... oh well maybe next year. Happy Thanksgiving!
Response: Thank you for the sweet comments... but please do not name her betsy LOL I HATE BROWN! I could send you a different one that you can name Betsy if you wanted to do private swap LOL... That one really challenged me cause i reallly really hate brown LOL.
Response: I was about to send another one since this one took so long to get to you. It was fun to make... made me feel like a designer. Glad you like it.
Response: thank you. Glad you liked it. I appreciate the heart and the detailed comments. Hate just getting a rating with no details. That last word is what i live for... I guess insecurity is what drives me? Looking for the praise? Am I pathetic or what? Have a good day!
Response: Needle felting is SO easy. The only think i would say is watch where you poke..those barbs are painful. If you can tap a pencil... you can needle felt... no mistakes.. easy peasy... IN the past I have picked up the ornaments, easter baskets and holiday coasters in that thick thick icky non wool felt... its the perfect base for something like a charm or just to practice felting on. I also check out bits and pieces of wool yarn at yarn stores... even a piece of yarn an inch or two in a bright color can add the perfect zing. Try it. let me know what you think. b.
Response: thank you. I enjoyed making them. I was a bit worried about the size. I hope you can find a way to use them in your art.
Response: glad you like them. I had fun making them but was worried about the size. I hope you can find a way to use them in your art.
Response: thank you. I was worried about the size. I enjoyed making them and doing something totally different for me. I hope you will find a place for them in your art.
Response: glad you liked them. I have had those clips for years and never used them... they originally came with a gun like tool that opened them and put them on the papers... but it was pretty spendy... so when i saw just the clips i picked up a few themes. I have not seen that product ever again. Glad the kittens were appreciated.
Response: thank you for responding so fast. I was just worried about her travel. That she might be be a bit out of her element if she went by plane but then again i don't know if for her a truck or train would have been much less a shock... I now have ideas of other famous historical people to dotee-ize.
Response: so glad like her... I am sorry it took so long. I just got home about an hour ago and feel a lot like dorothy from kansas.,.,there's no place like home. Again thank you for patience. Betsy
Response: So glad you liked them. It was fun making them and I love having pretty notecards to send. Nice to know it all was appreciated. Look forward to swapping again sometime soon. B.
Response: Thank you! I did have fun with her... before her spots went on the back i thought she looked a bit like she was out to hunt foxes. I have signed up for some other swaps and can hardly wait to see what I come up with LOL... I have several to do before i start the cherry one but I am so excited about that one that i just about cant stop myself from doing her first! Coming up for me in next week are hours and hours of time in the car traveling to seattle...for sons college grad and wedding... then meandering trip home... I just have to make sure i have enough swapbot materials for all things coming up! Catch up with you soon. Oh... i was at the hallmark store looking for gifts for the above stuff and found 4 green ornament trees for about $2 each i think left over from easter... fun way to showcase dotees.
Response: I am glad. The timing of this swapped with a visit to Micheals... I think cupcakes or even muffins taste better in fun paper wrappers.! Also I am sure there is a cool way to make some kind of flower from these but i havent found it yet... maybe you will. Glad you were pleased Warmly Betsy
Response: It was just a coincidence but isnt that interesting how that happens. I am glad you like the cards. Bad day today at PT but came home and crafted until my DH put me to bed with my knee iced and all kinds of tlc. I am so blessed with him.
Response: thank you for taking the time to tell me what you like about the girls. I have a clothesline like you mentioned for my ATCS when they firstt arrive ...when the line fills up then I transfer them to my "mini museum" a special album. I have such fun working on my little hand stitched dotees and the atcs. Getting detailed ratings is really what keeps me going. So thank you. Keep me in your positive thoughts... hard hard day today with the knee. I am ready to just sit down and cry.... Sleeping is impossible...Ok... time to get over the pity party. But this is really a big deal.
Response: thank you for noticing the details. In one i made..either the lost one or another i sent to someone else, i used a recipe for a rabbit stew! I guess just a definition is a lot tamer LOL.
Response: I am so glad you liked it. I was SO worried. I am anxious to hear how my first one was received as it went to Australia. I have kind of caught the dotee fever and have worked on a couple more just for me. One for st. pats day and another with a winter ice princess type theme.. Its ok to make and keep them isnt it?
Response: I am glad you enjoyed it. I do so getting positive feed back. Thanks. Betsy
Response: The Joe's sticker is from a restaurant my husband sometimes goes to in Denver where he works. I think the whole name is Tokyo Joes... I thought it looked like a surf board.
Response: sorry about that. I must have missed one. Glad you got it worked out. Thank you
Response: i am confused... you made a comment about museums and I don't remember talking about them with my card... it was all about bird watching.
Response: i sent out a couple different clear out cards.. trying to remember which one you might be talking about LOL... describe it and I can answer your question better. I am glad you liked it. Its probably the raku one? I sent more of those.
Response: i am glad you liked the story of my bunny visitor. We live in a small town and our subdivision is finally about all built out so i think the animals are coming back... a few years ago all we had were some occasional deer... ( now we have some regulars..I call them the 4 maradeers since they come to empty my bird feeders... we now get at least 2 bunnies coming by and tons of birds... 4 squirrels.. i think i mentioned nubbins the one whos tail is part gone... and around the corner in an empty lot there is a village of prairie dogs...fun to watch as well. I could write more to your boys ( what age?) about my critter watching... would they be able to color pictures of my tales? I would love to share ... not everyone appreciates my wonder in the animal world. let me know. My kids are all grown up now.. so i don't have kids to share with until oneday i have grandkids.
Response: thank you. It was a challenge.. but i am please you liked it. Happy Day!
Response: glad you liked the card. I owe you another one i just heard. I will have it in the mail tomorrow. Sorry I goofed on the instructions.
Response: I am glad you liked the atc. I just found out i goofed and only sent one instead of the 2 . I will make another one and send tomorrow. Glad you liked my effort.
Response: I sent those ages and ages ago.. any idea why it was delayed in the post?
Response: thank you for your comments. lately I have wondered if my card like style was a bit too blah with all these folks doing collages and zen drawings.. I thought maybe i was too old school . And the use of the sequin waste... just so i didnt have to go digging thru my HUGE stash for polka dots LOL... funny how it all works out. Thanks again you made my day
Response: If you don't mind... what do people like about the card? I have been struggling to decide if my style is too old school. I don't understand all the new zen drawings and collage means to me having to cut up my good mags... Thanks Betsy
Response: since this was such a small swap I was able to use just small scraps i had from one of those "pound of scraps" misc bags you can buy. I am sorry I cannot tell you more. But i have found those kind of bags to be full of GOOD card stock... my guess is its from invitation companies ... glad you like the card. I was a bit worried.
Response: thank you I really appreciate your feedback. I have been our of the creative mode for a bit and just trying to organize my space.. Creating is way more fun.
Response: thank you. As a newbie i wasnt sure if it was good enough. Glad you liked the goodies. Enjoy
Response: It was a fun swap for me. I seem to be seing daisies all around now. Changes your perspective doesnt it? Enjoy the goodies.
Response: thank you. I am new to the whole atc thing so I wasnt sure. I love getting the ATCs and real mail! Never be embarrassed. At least not on my account. I love em. I just have to get my act together to do the ratings with cards in front of me so i can respond to right artists. LOL thank you for your comments. Betsy
