Comment: Thanks a lot for your letter, I'm very envy for your Iceland and Faroe Islands trip! Be careful with your health. Diabetes is kinda challenging, but it's not as hard to find the right ingredients as it seems in the beginning. I have insulin resistance, so I need to do the same diet also.
Response: My recent health review for the diabetes was excellent, though I am conscious of the need to walk more. It is one day at a time, isn't it? All the best to you, too, in your endeavours. Tracy
Comment: Thanks for the lovely Christmas "chunk" and especially for your nice note.
We had a great Christmas with both our daughters and their families here. We decorated inside more this year as our granddaughter is almost 3 and does a good job of not touching the things that you tell her s not to.
Response: I'll bet she had a lovely Christmas, too! Just the right age! Now I can say 'Happy New Year!' All the best, Tracy.
Comment: Thank you for the card and note. I used to see many redbirds when I lived on the north edge of town but since I moved to the east edge I don't see any. Mostly robins and I hear owls. Hope you had a good christmas.
Response: My Christmas was lovely, thankyou, and I hope yours was as well. Here's to a great 2020! Tracy
Comment: I only received a torn empty envelope. I like the Christmas stamp on it. I had a problem reading the sender and finding the swap, but I finally did it. Thanks anyway. Happy 2020!
Response: How horrible! Somebody must have liked that card! Thanks for letting me know. I hope you had a good Christmas and 2020 is full of swaps that arrive in ONE piece! I am so sorry to hear this. Tracy
Comment: Cute card. Love your memory. I used to read a lot when I was young.
Response: I still love reading, especially when there's housework to be done! I am thinking of adopting an Icelandic custom where people give each other new books to read and then spend Christmas Eve reading them - that sounds like my idea of a good time! Merry Christmas!
Comment: I love this old oak tree postcard. I grew up in South Carolina and it reminds me of my childhood. Hope you're staying warm over there and thank you!
Response: Staying warm!!!!! Staying inside! Yesterday (Monday) was 38*C here and by the end of the week the temperature is expected to be around 44*C. I won't be moving far! Hope it's not too cold where you are and that you're having a good time. Merry Christmas!
Comment: thank you for the 4 tags and 2 sticker tags. The Rudolf card is especially cute. Best to you on this wonderful Christmas Season and May 2020 bring much happiness and adventures.
Response: The Rudolph cards were cute, I only had a few of them left from a number of years ago! I just love anything bright and cheerful like that - glad you do too! All the best and enjoy the silly season! Tracy
Comment: Hi Tracy thank you for the Banff Caribou Lodge PC. Beautiful area year round. I love the mountains in BC. Happy November swapping peace love light
Response: It is such a gorgeous area, isn't it? I can remember standing in the main street, just staring at the magnificent mountains. We have nothing like that here! Thanks for the rating and the heart! Tracy.
Comment: Thank you for all the sticky items you sent to me! It's so sweet to include many cat-related stickers and I definitely will use all the stickers (no matter cat-themed or not). Wish you and Coco all the best :)
Response: Coco, who's sitting on my shoulder at present, says thankyou very much! The purr in my ear is very loud and the typing one fingered!
Comment: TRACY! ~ You should see my face right now! I've got the biggest smile! These are gorgeous! WOWOWOW! Thank you so much for all the effort you put into these. I am going to save them for super special occasions. I am so grateful, thank you!! xoxo
Response: I am so glad you liked them, they were such fun to make! Thankyou for your kind comments, they've made my day!
Comment: Thank you so much for the kitty PC - it came to me just at the right time - really needed it. The platypus is mt fav animal because it's pretty much nature's hot dog. I relate to it, but this message will get long if I explain here. I can PM you if you're still curious :)
Response: 'Nature's hotdog' is a good description for a platypus, I reckon! I am glad that the kitty pc added something good to your day and I hope things are going well for you currently. Thanks for the rating and the heart. All the best, Tracy.
Comment: Thank you for the interesting card and the very cool stamp! Here we are enjoying fall weather - it won't be long before it's cold, windy and hopefully, snowy. Best wishes to you!
Response: And I am sitting here in the warmer weather! I thought that card was weirdly amusing, while the stamp is huge! They have just put the postage costs up here, so I guess a bigger stamp is justification! Thanks for the rating and the heart. All the best, Tracy.
Comment: These are lovely. Thanks so much for the re-send. Well worth the wait. The packaging was just fine as all arrived intact. I found this one quite fiddly. Don't give up on trying new things. If at first you do not succeed try again.
Response: I will, I will, I will! Thankyou for being such a generous swapper yourself. All the best, Tracy.
Comment: Thanks for the postcard! I love taking photos, especially of a place that I’m enamoured with... you can’t get enough pictures because you feel like even all of those pictures won’t be able to show it the way you see it.. and yet you keep taking pictures anyway haha. I’ve definitely done that.
Response: I am just starting to sort through the photos from the last trip now - I think it will take a while! Glad the card and what I wrote resonated with you. Thanks for the rating!
Comment: I messaged MeggyMoo on 9/11/19 and my message is still unread even though she was on the site on 9/15/19. This swap is over 2 months late and I understand that international mail can take longer which is why I waited so long before rating. If I receive anything I am willing to change this 1 rating. (Posted this comment on 9/16/19)
September 25, 2019...I've received the resend from MeggyMoo dated 9/17/19...very nice postcards and even a couple of extras...thanks so much!
Response: Re-sent today. I am always willing to re-send! I have also messaged this swapper privately.
Glad they arrived and I am pleased you liked the cards! All good!
Comment: Thank you Tracy for the two cat sticker cards. I will be happy to pay them forward to my cat loving friends! They will love them. I really like them. Thank you for the extras. The pugs are fun. Have a safe and happy trip! I'm happy to have another stamp from Australia. I put the first one I received from you on a travelor's notebook, but I'm happy to have another because I'm thinking about starting a book to put all the stamps I receive in it.
Response: I love that you think enough of my cards to pass them on, I hope your cat loving friends like them too! I save my cat cards for special people too. I also think that the stamps on the envelopes are almost as much fun as the swap - it is amazing to see what different images countries use on their stamps! Sometimes I think ours can be rather boring, we are stuck in a 'building' phase at the moment in stamps for international postage and prior to that it was the Queen! Thankyou for the rating and the heart, and all the best!
Comment: Sorry for my late rating. Thank you for the great selection of bookmarks, including the bonus one! Thank you for the 3-D holiday stickers, the vintage Disneyland postcard is awesome! I wish she had put the full date on it and stamp. Maybe she mailed in envelope so no one would steal it. Fun fact: Disneyland opened on my Mom's 7th birthday!! And my family lived down the steet from Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm. I was born in 1965 in Anaheim and was literrally down the street from Disneyland. We moved to Texas when I was 3. Thank you for the Norman Rockwall prints. I love Norman Rockwall!! It was a fun envelope to open!!. Thank you for joining my Swap again!
Response: I am so happy that you liked what I sent! It is good to know that the vintage pc has found a good home, given you have such a rich history with Disneyland. The Norman Rockwell cards were a gift from my American penpal, Becky, many years ago, I have been slowly eeking them out, only one left now. Thanks for the rating and the heart: a message like yours really makes it worthwhile! All the best, Tracy.
Comment: Thank you for your ginger cat card received last month. I have a ginger cat, Dudek. He's the male kitty in a family of 3 felines in the household. He's the only one friendly to the kitten, Smoaky.
Response: Glad you liked the ginger boy! Ginger cats have always been a favourite with me, since my first one, (Humphrey) Bogart - Bogie - at 19! Love to Dudek and Smoaky!
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful postcard from your trip! I love snowy scenes and this is perfect. I'm taking a trip to Canada at the end of this month, hope to see some beautiful scenery as well. Thanks again!
Response: Have a great time! It is impossible not to see fabulous scenery in Canada - it's the only kind they have! Enjoy!
Comment: I agree with you and feel the same about dogs. They don’t have an agenda...they just live their lives and if they are mischievous, it’s just because they are having fun. Lol
Response: Yes, I can straighten out the rug, turn around and it is all messed up again, with a happy, grinning, tail waving dog standing next to it, just waiting to 'play' some more! Thanks for the rating and the heart!
Comment: I just got your letter today! Thank you so much! The book looks really interesting so I'll definitely have to check it out! Also, that cat bookmark you made is utterly stunning! Thank you so much for it! And thank you for the wonderful Beauty and the Beast bookmark too! I love everything. Have a stunning weekend ^_^
Response: Thankyou! I did have a good weekend, although my mate Roger didn't win ! Sigh! The week ahead is looking pretty good too, enjoy yours!
Comment: Thanks for your lovely PC ánd stamp of your Queen. Nice picture!
I remember eating minestrone a long time ago: a couple of days visiting Berlin (The Wall was still there) with my mother. It was rainy and chilly. The restaurant was simple, but the soup was delicious!
Response: Nice to know the card brought back a good memory for you. You will have to put minestrone on the list of things to make when it gets cooler!
Comment: Oh my goodness this one is special! We actually do this on the ranch! I inherited my grandfathers Allis Chalmers tractor, okay technically I claimed it as mine long before he passed. It was where I learned to drive. There are photos of me riding in his lap on the tractor before I was even a year old. It was always a good memory even with all the hard work involved. I put a Texas Santa on him every year. At Halloween the skeleton takes the wheel. Such a great card! Thanks
Response: I am pleased you liked the card (I did too!) and that it had such great associations for you as well! Merry Christmas in July!, Tracy
Comment: Wow! What a wonderful note. I will think of you scrapbooking at night when I listen to the Disneyland fireworks from my couch. I'll be watching Good Bones tonight, a favorite program.
Response: I am up to the Grand Canyon now! Scrapbooking tonight to the tennis at Wimbledon! Glad you liked my note and thankyou for the rating and the heart. Enjoy the fireworks! Do they ever get old? Tracy
Comment: I totally laughed out loud at your "it's upside down, typical Aussie!" note!! I don't know if you have these magazines in your area, but I love the cooking magazines Saveur and Food&Wine (and Bon Appetit, to a lesser degree). Your travels sounded phenomenal and I'm happy you got to visit the West Coast! Thank you so much for your note & the cute pastel washi!
Response: Yes, well, I couldn't believe that I hadn't looked at the envelope BEFORE I addressed it! Next time I am in a really big newsagent I will look for the two magazines you mentioned - cooking ones are all I seem to read these days! I am glad you liked the swap, thanks for the heart and rating. Tracy
Comment: Thank you for the HK coin and cute panda postcard! Thanks for the extra butterfly bookmark too! It's lovely 😍 and I love the stamps on the envelope too! Thank you very much for a wonderful mail 😊
Response: Mail is fun, isn't it? Glad to hear you enjoyed yours! Thankyou for the rating and the heart!
Comment: What a cute card and I really enjoyed your note!! Your dog sounds wonderful (because every dog is the best dog!!!!!) and a joy to live with!! ❤️ Thanks for the stickers too!! I hope you have a nice weekend and thanks for joining my swap!! xx
Response: Anyone who puts the words 'dog' or 'cat' in a swap immediately gets my attention! And of course, they provide a wealth of things to write about! So thanks for coming up with the idea, I enjoyed taking part in the swap. Enjoy the weekend!
Comment: First of all, I love your username. I used to have a dog I called Missy Moo. Her name was Annie. Go figure. But I digress. The postcards you sent are perfect. The note you included with them about Afferbeck Lauder was even better. I loved it! Thanks so much for an all-around fun swap!
Response: Thankyou! Nick names for cats and dogs can be funny, can't they? I figure the animal just goes with whatever the crazy human says because it is attention and the animal has that sense of being absolutely loved, just the way it should be! Glad you enjoyed the swap and the bit of 'strine' (Australian!)
Comment: Thank you for your answers. Coco is such a lovely name ;) Have a nice day!
Response: Coco is a gorgeous girl - she has been my little Coco-nut since the day I brought her home, 16 years ago! Everyone deserves to have a crazy cat in their lives! Thanks for the rating and the heart!
Comment: Thanks for the lovely bookmarks and the beautiful card.
I have three on my late mother's sewing boxes that I look in for strings and things. I really should sort it all out one day, so I can find something in less than a half y=hour.
Response: But sorting things is so much fun! I always find things I never thought I had! Glad you liked the bookmarks and thankyou for the rating and heart. Enjoy!
Comment: Thanks for a little insight into your life.
Leaving the door closed??
Response: Long story, but I should have opened that (very real) door at the time, it was an opportunity that never came my way again. One of those potentially life changing moments! Thanks for the rating and heart!
Comment: Thanks for sharing. I had a dog once with the cat (I still have now). The cat would let the dog clean and carry her around by the scruff of her neck. It’s amazing what bonds they’ll develop over time.
Response: Coco won't let Meg do that with her, but a border collie I had many years ago did that with the cat that I also had. The poor cat always had a wet neck!!!
Comment: Thank you so much! I loved reading your answers! I hope you have a wonderful week :)
Response: I have enjoyed my week, thankyou! A good friend who was told she may have ovarian cancer was given the all clear after her operation and things just got better from there! Currently enjoying the rain coming down! Enjoy your week, too! Tracy
Comment: Well, these are SO CUTE! You sent so many! I love the patterns you used and the sweet buttons. You also seemed to have the perfect twine size (I had trouble finding the right size). Thank you very much for your sweet note, too!
Response: I used crochet cotton bought from a cheap shop and also tried a thin, stiff coloured twine from the craft shop. I broke three or four needle threaders in the process! As a last resort I was going to try embroidery threads - mainly because I would be able to match colours perfectly! Despite all the trials and tribulations, they were fun to make and I have a little stash to give away now! Glad you Liked what I made!
Comment: Thanks Tracy. I liked your interesting facts. What job were you doing flying in the outback for 6 years? Hope we swap again.
Response: The District Superintendent of Education (as they were then known) called me his 'offsider' - we visited schools in the region then called the Far North. Really interesting work and great fun! Would love to swap with you again, too!
Comment: Thank you for the ambulance volunteer postcard! I live in a town where our ambulance service is volunteer as well so I understand how important this is. I have a lot of respect and gratitude for those who serve. :)
Response: I agree wholeheartedly, they do a wonderful job. Very special people.
Comment: Thank you ever so much Tracy for the brilliant swap! Such a thoughtful and great package. You’ve spoiled me for this one for sure! I love your handmade kitty cards and enjoyed the lovely personal note you’ve included. Very much appreciated. Xx Nina
Comment: Thanks for the great 'vintage' PC of Adelaide Market, Tracy! I would love to go there for some shopping and lunch! I don't mind that it was in an envelope - the other card you made and wrote your note on with the kitty is adorable! Happy Swapping! :-)
Comment: Thank you for the pretty postcard! And I really really loved the Melbourne stamp, I'm shocked to find out it's so expensive to mail postcards from Australia though!
Response: That's the price we pay, unfortunately, for living so far away! Worth it though, when someone - such as yourself - enjoys what I have sent! I am waiting for the postal service to change that stamp though, for as much as I also like it, I am hanging out for a change! All the best, Tracy.
Comment: Oh my goodness, thank you for all the items you sent me . Its the best swap I've had so far!! Beautiful job on selecting all the cat ones!!Beautiful atc work.
thanks for the tape and postcards too!
Response: It is nice to be appreciated and I am so pleased you liked what I sent (even if it is from a mad cat lady!) Enjoy!
Comment: Thank you for my package, Tracy! It was such a nice surprise to receive mail from Down Under! I love all of the inspirational quote stickers and paper, even the Winnie the Pooh Quote! I also love the patterned paper and mini envelope! Thanks for the crafty gifts. I can tell you gleaned from my profile. Love the colors too!
Response: Thanks, I am pleased you liked the package - it was fun to do and your profile was very helpful! Enjoy!
Comment: Hi Tracy -- thanks for the card of An Iron Rose. The cover intrigued me, so I looked it up. Perhaps I'll check the author out -- I do like most crime fiction. I use the library, so no harm in giving it a try! All the best, al
Response: You'll have to let me know if it's any good! Thanks for the rating.
Comment: Love it! I also have a few kitty calendars that I am recycling! The cats are just too cute!
Response: That's exactly the problem: the cats are too cute to toss out! Since the postcards I have made another 30-odd notecards and 25 'swap' cards!!! I am a cat tragic! Thanks for the rating and I am pleased you liked the card!
Comment: Thank you for an interesting group of bookmarks. The rubber band one is cool and I think my GrandGirl may try to swipe it from me! The Noelene's Book Cafe sounds like a great place! I love our used bookstore here but they have no food. And the one from the State Library is nice as well. I like that it says South Australia on it. Thank you for joining my swap!
Response: You can never have enough bookmarks, can you? All the best, Tracy
Comment: Hi Tracy! Sorry for the belated rating, I found a stash of mail that had yet to be rated! The notecard is gorgeous! It sounds like you definitely love libraries! Being a teacher is so freaking incredible too, libraries and teaching, they tend to always go hand in hand! Anyway, I thank you so much! I hope you have a lovely week :)
Response: My pleasure! I have enjoyed participating in your swaps, Jess!
Comment: Thank you for sharing your answers. I have a frame for 6 photos, in which I put my postcards. I change them from time to time. In the bedroom I also hung a string on one of the walls and have hanged the most unique and beautiful postcards on it with some decorative buckles. Have a nice day!
Response: I like the idea of the frame with multiple openings, that sounds really good. In my old house I would have had room for strings above the desk, but maybe across the window would work. I will just have to give it some more thought! Glad you enjoyed the swap!
Comment: Thanks so much for the stunning postcard, it's amazing! Also, don't be sorry at all, I loved everything about the postcard (the stamp included)! I love your little note at the end, too! Thank you x a million for it!
Comment: Thank you for the great post card. I'm a sucker for steam trains! My dad was based at the Freemantle submarine base during part of World War II. They went by troopship from England to Sydney and then went from there to Perth on a troop train. I think it took 5 days. He loved the journey and Australia. Best wishes
Response: How amazing! I know the trains that used to run through Quorn regularly transported troops and the local community would come out to meet and greet them.
Comment: Thanks so much for the lovely card and stickers! We are in the middle of a cold snap here and everything just feels frozen solid. It’s nice to think of the heat in Australia. Hopefully we both get some more moderate temperatures soon! :)
Response: I agree! Today is nice, a pleasant 27*C - great for sitting outside with a coffee - something I have just done! All the best.
Comment: Tracy, I just so happen to have you for this swap too. I never got your postcard BUT I was able to see it in the mail my post office scanned for future delivery. Somehow it never made it to me. But because of the scan, I got to read it. So thanks. Xoxo
Response: Okay. I wonder what happened to it???? Would you like another?
Comment: Wow! I would love to visit this food market! I send my students in Food Writing class to a farmer's market later in the semester, once the spring markets open and have them write about the experience.
Response: It is a fabulous market, I will admit! I also enjoy farmer's markets and took some American friends to one at Angaston when they were visiting 10 years ago and we lost Anne for a while in the crowd as she went from stall to stall, tasting and talking to the vendors!
Comment: It's a very interesting list :) I've read Robert Galbraith (You know who it is, right?) & Wally Lamb (& LOVED it) earlier, so I added those to to mine :D I feel sure you will work through the whole of it, Happy reading!!
Response: Yes, I do! Used the book for the first and last lines swap and had to send two postcards to my swap partner because I couldn't fit the two sentences on one card no matter how small I wrote! As I wrote to my partner, I think JK Rowling must get paid by the word!!! I will move Wally Lamb up the list on your recommendation, thanks!
Comment: Thanks for your list.
The Isobelle Carmody series was recommended to me, years ago, but I never could lay my hands on the first book. I shall try again. If nothing else, I should be able to get it for my e-reader at this point.
Best Wishes - Neal
Response: It's worth it! The first book was published in the mid 1990's, the last in 2014/15 - so you can see why I have to start over! I enjoyed the first three.
Comment: Thank you for sharing your 2019 Reading. Good Luck and Happy Reading. My book suggestion would be- The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom. I gave a copy to my Grand-daughter when she graduated High School to inspire her to be one of those people. Happy New Year!
Response: I will find that one! I liked Tuesdays with Morrie. I think the title of this one put me off!
