Comment: I really enjoyed reading your A to Z list. How exciting that you got to take a trip to Tanzania! It sounds like you are surrounded with loving and compassionate people! That's amazing that you read 100 books! WOW!
Comment: Hi, Laurina,
Very well done on getting so much accomplished during the last couple of weeks! And thank you so much for sharing the photographs of the Art and Poetry project -- I really enjoyed looking at them. I'm so glad the project was so successful!
Yes, there are some things you haven't done -- but so much that you have!
The accountability swaps are carrying on -- @mamakek has taken the series over which I'm really pleased about. The link for the next one is https://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/338862. (There's one going on at the moment which you're too late to sign up for, but you could join again from swap #24).
Have a good December!
Comment: Hei Laurina!
Comment: Puppetry! How fun and thanks for the pic!! Sorry you've not been well... hope you'll be 100% soon! And hope you'll get to those darn writing assignments soon... it's hard to just sit down to do it, but once you overcome that hurdle, the words will flow and you'll get it done!
Comment: Well done for accomplishing so much of your list and for doing sufficient preparation to ensure that your teaching is going well. But there is that large elephant in the room -- the spring writing assignment -- which I can feel you circling round and postponing from month to month. I'm a fellow academic -- if you want to send me a message so that I can perhaps support you in finally tackling it, then please do. I know what it's like and how difficult it can be to make a start. Good luck!
Comment: It sounds like you've really done well on your list AND you were about to throw out some things and to donate as well. Yay! I've actually been doing fairly well with getting rid of things lately too. Good luck on your University assignment, you can do it!! 🌹🌹🌹
Comment: Hi Laurina,
I think you've had a very successful fortnight -- well done! Lots ticked off your list.
Except for that university assignment .... as an academic (and one who came into higher education late in life), I know all too well how difficult it is to start writing. And in my experience, it doesn't necessarily get any easier -- I still circle round journal articles and conference papers until it's nearly the deadline. For me, it's sometimes about not quite knowing what I want to say -- but once I actually force myself onto the desk chair and start writing it usually comes okay. Good luck with it over the next fortnight!
Response: Yes, you totally understand where I am with the assignment. Half of it is already completed in my mind. Now to just force myself into that desk chair.
Comment: Thank you for the lovely photos - I love geocaching too, and the little free library is so cute! We have three in our village which I often stop and look in :-) The food looks amazing - it's making me hungry! And what beautiful hollyhocks! Thank you for sharing :-) Have a great August!
Comment: Thanks so much for sharing your photos, Laurina! I liked them all ... love the little free library and too, the flowers are gorgeous AND the pic of the food made me hungry. lol Have an awesome rest of your week. 🌹🌹🌹
Comment: I love little free libraries, too (I'm in Canada), but I've never gone geocaching (my brother has years ago with his kids); I love Pho, which this looks very similar to, and I have hollyhocks in my yard - mine are a dark burgundy colour :)
Comment: Hi Laurina, I'm so happy that you joined my swap and hope that you will again as well.
Great job on getting things done from your list. I hope that you like your new recipes (I am a vegetarian and eat no meat, fish or seafood at all!) My friend used to go geocashing but I have never done it. Have a great day! 🌹🌹🌹
Comment: Lots done, Good Job! Especially the decluttering, that's hard to work on! Very cool about your geocaching across the counties! Did you post any of your ICAD? I'd love to peek! :) Awesome cape, too!!
Comment: Thank you for the swap. Mooka is one of my nemesis tangles. I just can't seem to draw anything with Mooka in it that I'm happy with, but I'll keep trying. Yours is lovely and the yellow really finishes it off.
Comment: Thank you for the lovely tiles! I like both, but the green paper, colored-first one the best. I'm a sucker for color and texture. I also love the peony postcard. We're right at the height of peony season here - I think it's my favorite flower.
Comment: Thank you for the very very cute "book' that you made. I do have a question, how did you get the paint colors behind the tangles? They are so pretty, was it water colors? Then adding tangles softy around the pages. Thank you
Response: I made the backgrounds first with bleeding tissue paper and water. Then I tangled as soon as it was dry.
Comment: I accidently rated your zine with Spritsy's and then your's arrived today and I went to rate it and saw I had got them confused. Anyway, I got it figured out. Thanks so much for mailing and your club would be fine. I would join! Thanks for the extra art zine. very beautiful. Thanks for joining. I hope you join future swaps.
Comment: Thank you so much for your mail with those lovely pictures! I just tried the fresbee golf during summer, it's so much fun! :) The entrance of your home looks also pretty cool, I would feel safe behind it as well! :)
Comment: Thanks for all the great items in this envie! I will attempt to add something good to Joan's PC and send it on. Thanks for finishing and returning my twinchie pc! I love how it turned out! You One is gorgeous and inspiring! Thanks for the pretty stamps too! Stay safe and healthy! Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Comment: Thanks for sending along the fun PC! Can't wait to add to it! And thank you for the lovely extra PC. Am trying to decide if I want to keep it in my collection or send it to my sister who is obsessed with gnomes. LOL
Comment: Thank you for the lovely swap! I enjoyed seeing the photos of your walk - your observations as well as your creations. It looks and sounds like a beautiful area. * This swap was sent late without communication prior to the deadline. (Due 10/13, message received 10/22, mailed in November.) I think covid has given us all enough stress, though, xo.
Comment: Hello! I have received your letter, unfortunately I am not able to open it yet as I am traveling right now. My mother in law told me that I have a letter from you. I will be back home by the end of September and it will be the first one that I will open. Thank you so much!
Comment: Thanks so much for the letter, Laurina! It was so fun to read about your job and how invested you are in storytelling, I wish I'd of had a teacher like you back when I was in school! I would absolutely LOVE to send you a letter back, but I can't quite make out the address you wrote, and I would rather ask you than guess and get it wrong. If you're still interested in receiving a letter from me, just let me know!
Comment: It was lovely reading all about your travels and your son as well as the mini books you've written. I wish you the very best in all that you do in 2020 and if your job does get cut, that that opens a new door for you in your life and career. All the best- Whitney E.
Comment: Thanks for your questionnaire, great stories there and great pictures! I wish you the very best for 2020! (I don’t live far from Winkel by the way ;) I’ve also travelled around Sweden a lot as a teen! Love it!)
Comment: Hi there. Received your wonderful letter today and plan on writing back as I do have a couple of questions. I hope to keep my response letter to a reasonable size as I have a tendency to write mini novels - the person who received my letter will need a coffee, couch and a bit of time to read it ... ugh, I really have to learn to keep it simple and not go into such great detail. Anyway as you can see how it happens ... ha, ha, ha ... I look forward to sending a letter to you. Glad you are back on your feet and feeling great. Chat with you soon and enjoy that sunshine.
Comment: Laurina thx for being kind and nice. My name mans a night trip that the prophet mohammed has done. You are a really strong woman and I am so inspired by you.May all the good things come your way:)
Comment: Wow. Everything you said motivated me and what an inspiration you are. Wow if 2018 was just the beginning imagine what 2019 will be like. Keep moving forward, dont look back. Will send you a pm . Happy swapping.
Comment: Laurina, I loved recieving your tangled envelope, i thought the way you left room for the address very clever. I like the zentangles used. Well done. and the postcards are brilliant. Thank you so much.
Comment: LUV your "tangles" on the Swedish book page, Laurina...just super. Your practice sheet is also lovely. And that fabulous postalette! Many thanks for sharing your very creative work. You've inspired me to zentangle onward! Hearts and hugs...jinanne
Comment: I received the zentagle borders - they are so pretty! I hope I can do them justice with my zentangles in the middle. I also really appreciated the postcard and the beautiful notecard with sailboats. Thank you!
Comment: Thank you for the nice coin from Bookman's. So great that you make it to San Diego so often. I've lived here for 9 years and just love it. There are a lot of places to get pressed pennies here. Some of my favorite places are Cabrillo National Monument and Old Town. Very nice coins!
Response: Thanks for the tips! We will look for those on our next SD visit. And thanks for the rating and heart!
Comment: I want a free library near me too. In Cebu, we only have one public library and it is so far away. Thank you for sending in a photo too! You're lovely and so is your son. Cheers! May you have a great year ahead!
Comment: Inner strength has arrived and she is very cool. Your dolls like mine have a solid foundation. And yes the hat and head are great, I am not sure what they are either.I wonder how much of her are clues to you, the untold story.
Thanks so much, and I'm glad she has a Texas connection.
Comment: Thank you so much. I volunteer for delivering meals for Meals On Wheels. You meet so many nice people. Yuma must be quite different than Sweden. I lived for a year in Germany and I loved their Christmas customs. So different than what I was used to. Thanks again for the card and letter.
Comment: Thank you! I enjoyed reading your letter. I can't wait to try the recipes. I am especially excited to try the Sweet Potatoes & Rice. It sounds like something I would really like. Have A Happy Day! :)
Comment: The mandalas you sent are so beautiful. It must have taken you forever to make them. I am just starting with mandalas, and I love to see how folks make them. I also love the little pictures you included. I think my granddaughters...and I...will enjoy using them in crafts. Thank you for a very special swap!
Comment: I went to Berlin alone, too! Great city. Looks like you had an awesome summer. You should look into letterboxing if you get a chance. Looks like there's a few in Stockholm and Copenhagen. Thanks for the zine!
Response: Yes, we do letterboxing, too. Stockholm is FAR away from us both geographically and culturally. We are closer to Copenhagen. So far we have found about 50 letterboxes. Thanks for the rating and the heart!
Comment: I broke my wrist about 10 years ago. I'm left handed, and it was my left hand. But I was able to grab a pen just enough to write a little. Whew! Be sure to do you rehab stretches. It hurts a little, but it's not going to break again - it's just the scar tissues between the little bones breaking up and flushing away. it was almost a year before mine felt completely normal, so don't be in too much of a hurry.
Response: Thanks for the advice! I do still have pain every day. Writing came back pretty fast as soon as I got the cast off, but other movements are still too painful, like eating with my right hand or sewing.
Comment: Laurina, thank you for your card—I especially liked the bilingual text on the front where not every word was translated! It’s always interesting (to me) reading a text written in “Scandinavian†(where some/certain words get translated but the others/rest are left in one language). Congratulations also on getting your wrist out of the cast!
Comment: You're from Astoria!?! That is SOOOO cool! I just went there last fall and LOVED it. If you get bored, my blog entry "Fear and Loathing on the Columbia" (link on my profile) might be of interest. Anyway, thank you for the great Oregon postcard, swoon. How on earth did you end up in Sweden? Thank you also for the cool map PC and town hall thingy (oooh, Malmo.......... I've heard of that at IKEA, lol! :) I also just loved the decorated paper you included, the Swedish book pages, and the cake pops postcard! And the little teeny book you made is so cute as well! That was interesting and cute! :) Hope your wrist gets well soon. Take care and thank you again!
Comment: Thanks so much! I love your choice of recipe and will definitely be trying this out! I just had chickpea salad for lunch as a matter of fact... this is a great variation though! Awesome job! :)
Comment: oh that salad sounds yummy. Thanks so much for sending it. I really hope to do something like this again so that I can get more recipes into my recipe box!
I really like the postcard too! So cool!
Comment: I'm almost embarrassed to rate you now, it's been SO long since I received your zine, but I just wanted to say Thank You for sending it, and to tell you how much I enjoyed it. Walking round your neighbourhood was fun. Especially that awesome decorated tree. Thanks so much!
Comment: Thanks for your interesting PC! It reminded me that a lot of European people enjoy travelling a huge amount. My friend and I used to always notice the backpackers in Sydney to see what country they came from. For some reason we always particularly noticed the Swedish ones! They seemed to out-do the German, British, Canadian, American, Swiss, Danish, etc backpackers in terms of numbers. Adventurous! :D Anyway, thanks again.
Comment: Hello Laurina!
What a pleasure to receive your mail art challenge! Very creative use of all the required elements--I love collage art! Thank you so much for the vintage book pages! The first thing I did when I took them from the package was to smell them! I am absolutely addicted to the fragrance of vintage paper. It's difficult to get printed papers in other languages--much less vintage ones!
Comment: Thank you so much for all the great stuff:) The receipe for the vegan choc cake mmmm:):) your post cards and your letters were amazing. I just received my last letter today with my mandale that you drew for me. I love it!!!
Comment: You sent a lovely set of pictures. Thank you. Next time, though, if you are going to be late, even "only one day", a little pm to let me know would be greatly appreciated. Communication is very important to me as a sign of courtesy and it was lacking here.
Comment: I really struggled with how to rate this easy email swap, which was sent late (after some prompting by the swap host), with no communication. The content of the email did meet swap requirements.
Comment: Thanks for the great (2) mini-zines and for taking me along on your morning walk. You have an interesting neighborhood!!! I would love to visit Castle Dome Mines Ghost Town too. I love the way the inside of the envie matches the notecard. I will be using that for a collage soon! Perfect for spring! Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Comment: This "Toast on a Farm" card is quite intriguing. Your weather sounds like ours except that I am sure there is at least a 20 degree difference. =P When it gets as high as 40 we think it's spring, but tomorrow it will be freezing again. Happy Valentine's Day!
Comment: Enjoyed your zines! What a wonderful opportunity to get to travel and learn Viking ways "first hand." Amazing learning adventures! Thanks so much for sharing part of your homeschooling adventure with me. :)
Comment: I have so many books that I stopped going to the VNSA. I mean I have 1400 books and it isnt time for the hoarders show yet so dont worry,I just like to read. But about this swap. Thank you, the PC was great, and the message was great too.
Comment: What do girls do at summer Viking camp? Do they get to fence and sail too, or collect berries and cook? (my son would love all of those activities, but my dd probably not as much!) What languages do you do course work in?
Response: Last year they had 3 boys and 5 girls at the Viking day camp. Girls do all the same activities as boys. The girls loved it just as much as the boys. The girls did wear Viking dresses instead of the tunics that the boys wore.We are bilingual in English and Swedish and do coursework in both languages.
Comment: I really enjoyed your pages. I want to lose weight myself and though i am not advanced yet in mandalas i am a new fan of zentangles. However, just a reminder to finish the back of the journal pages...happy swaping
Comment: What a beautiful postcard! That's so sweet of you to share your summer home with me! I love it! Next time you go, do you think you can take me with you?! (lol) Thank you so much for my beautiful postcard.
Comment: Thanks for the cardboard! The ice cream treats look yummy! Did you know that there is a Lindt factory in New Hampshire? They make the Lindt for the US, which my sister (who lives in Switzerland, land of Lindt) has told me tastes different than the Swiss Lindt!
Comment: 12/20/12: From the swap description:
Postcards must be sent on 12-12-12 (and postmarked)"
The only way that you can guarantee a postmark is to go inside the post office and ask them to hand cancel the mail. This means that you see them stamp the mail ... or in my case I stamp it myself with the postmark cancellation. I put extra effort to make sure that all of my partners got a very nice swap with a proper cancellation and I am rewarded with a lackluster swap that has a poor cancellation that I can not definitely read as being on 12-12-12. I believe that you complied with the swap description and I am giving you the 5 without a heart.
Comment: You're right, the pizza does look good. I could not give up cheese, and I know that soy cheese is just not the same. Meat? Sure. But not cheese. However, no cheese pizza doesn't sound bad at all.
Comment: Amazing! Thank you so much for participating in my swap and for such a cool advent list. The swedish recipes will certainly be tried out in my kitchen this year. Lots of great ideas! Thank you. Merry Christmas!
Comment: Thank you for the amazing list of Advent activities! I hope you will be able to celebrate just the way you've planned it. I'm so excited to try Swedish recipes. As I study Swedish, anything related with Sweden or Scandinavia make me feel superhappy =) So... have a nice Advent, Sankta Lucia and... God Jul!
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful mandalas!! I have to agree with your son on the one with the mice -- he has a great imagination -- and every time I look at the mandala, I'll always remember what he said!!
Comment: Thank you for the minizines! Really interesting to see and read about your trips :) I want to go to that Viking gathering at some point, I bet there's loads I'd want on the stalls! Also the postcard/envelope was interesting, I've never seen one like that before :)
Comment: What a beautiful card! And Alise says thank you for the nice note. She has just started tae kwan do this year, and last fall she started soccer, so she likes knowing that kids in other countries do some of the same things. Happy swapping!
Comment: belated thanks for your minizine. i love the collage you peppered it with, and i also wanted to say i hear you re asthma. it's late autumn here and my asthma symptoms have been really bad. it's usually only this bad in spring. i just realised your food pic *isn't* a nasty lay-out of baked beans! ;)
Comment: I'm new to Swap-Bot and had never even heard of mini-zines. They seemed like a really cool idea but I wasn't sure how to do them. Thanks to you and sending it extremely early, I now have an idea of what to do. Thank you so much for this beautiful piece of art!!
Comment: Hello Laurina. Thanks a million for your colour zines. I really like travel zines. Maybe when I have a few more euros I can visit the Viking Village. It looks really interesting. Have a great day and happy swapping.
Response: Glad you like them! I do love to make mini travel zines! Thanks for the heart!
Comment: I love your zine, Arizona neighbor! And I can't believe that you did the EXACT same thing as me for a room in your home - I drew a full bookcase, too! You put your return address on, so I'll send you one so you can see. This was fun, never done one before. Thanks for being the first one received!
Comment: Thank you so much for such a beautiful Valentine's Day card. If you made it, you are very talented. Thanks, also, for sharing your thoughts on Valentine's Day, and by the way we share the same thoughts on the day. Thanks again so much. Happy Swapping!
Comment: I love that Kitt wrote on it for Conner, He liked the road runner altho he was confused cuz in his words "Miss Nicole this doesnt look like the one on TV" LOL .. he loves road runner and coyote! :)
Comment: I absolutely love the joyful prayer flag you made for me. I love the design, and when I see it hanging it will make me happy with the bright colors, and to take a pause to think of joy in my present moment and sing. This is one I am going to have to think twice about hanging outside, I want to hang it over my desk and preserve it! Thanks so much, and for the gorgeous card too. Do let me know if you run this swap again..
Comment: oh i just LOVED this little exploration you took me on! I too did a similar local route to notice all of the special things along the way! and i think imight need that cute little blue VW Bug on the lot! lol! What a great story! Thanks for sharing! :)
Comment: Love it. Very beautiful. Ha ha ha, you cheated a bit on the size, because otherwise letters would have not fit, but it is all right - I don't need them to be very uniform anyway.
And yes, I am definetely painfully growing right now in music reading area -I am in this guitar esemble, and I have to learn to read music reasonably well, if I am to play there. Very hard, but you flag will help me through...
Comment: I have 5 budgies, my only pets. I am allergic to cats and dogs =(! But one day we want to have a nice and big dog. I prefer cats, but my darling doesn't like cats and I am okay with a dog as well ;)! Thanks for the card. :)
Comment: är du svenska?! jag kommer frän u.s.a, men jag studerar i sverige. min svenska är inte bra när jag talar, men jag kan skriva och förstå. tack sä mycket för din e-post! jattebra!
8:30 pm.. fika!!!
veganska mat <3
Comment: What delightful prayer flags! Your subtle embroidery is lovely, and the vintage "I like you" fabric is so unbelievably cool. I wish I could find enough of that stuff for a skirt or something...thank you so much for lovely, well-thought-out flags!
Comment: I was just eating a blueberry frozen waffle as I read your email, how funny! Mine was Van's brand though. I had no idea Wal-Mart even sold food, let alone vegan food! Those spring rolls look yummy. Thanks for joining!
Comment: Thanks for your story - the stuff about your sons was particularly interesting. I've always wondered whether to raise my very-hypothetical-future-children as vegitarians or not - I think I will try and give them the choice, but like you, I'm sure I can't help but be a touch biased :) In any case, it has given me some food (groan!) for thought. Cheers :)
Comment: I loved your story so much! It's sad that you had to hide the fact that you were vegetarian when you were younger, I guess it was less acceptable then. Absolutely best of luck being vegan with your sons!
Comment: I LOVE Nature's Express. The closest one is more than 2 hours away, yet somehow I've been there 7 or 8 times since they opened in January. You're lucky to have one nearby! I'm a pancake and pizza aficionado, and make them often. Great pix and recipes, thanks!
Comment: Thanks for the terrific letter! I wish my penmanship was as good as yours. I think it would be fun to make lace. However, I have a spinning wheel gathering dust which I need to get off my duff and work on.
Comment: Thanks for your notes on St.Petersburg. I was there back when it was Leningrad. In fact, I went to the Marinsky and the Hermitage although things were very different back then. It's grandeur was very impressive. It sounds like a real highlifht for you. That's wonderful
Comment: Hi many thanks for your letter. It was a lovely read, so much detail and the photographs of the items were an unexpected extra. Yes you should buy Knyppling set and make your own lace, you'll regret if you don't x
Comment: I really love the Quail rubber stamp that you carved!! Do you think you might notice if it disappeared or was replaced with a different stamp?? Yeah, that's what I thought! Oh well.
Thanks for swapping :-)
Response: I could make another of the gambel's quail for you, if you want to do a private swap. Just let me know.
Comment: Dear Hello Laurina,
About a week or so ago, I received your beautiful Moravian Stars in the mail as part of the 2009 Ornament Swap. They are delicate and intricate in nature, I like both of them very much and I look forward to putting them on my tree this Christmas. However, my most favorite is the small one--orange and yellow. It seems that the smaller they are the harder they would be, but I wonder if that is true? Thank you for sharing these beautiful ornaments with me and I will proudly hang them on my tree this Christmas. Hope we meet up again at some future swaps. Until then, Happy Swapping!
Response: Thanks so much for the nice comment and the heart! Glad you liked both ornaments!
Comment: Thanks for the lovely 9 patch. The colours are great and I love Paisley patterns. (I live near the town by the same name where the pattern is from!) Thank you for the extra fabric - I think I'll save that for purse or something special.
Comment: I LOVE what you sent me. I've never seen a paper bag booklet before - brilliant! It's beautiful and I really appreciate all the effort you put into it. I've only skimmed it, because I was so excited to come rate you, but I can't wait to sit down and read through it slowly and to try some of the recipes. Thank you so SO much. More hearts for you! <3 <3 <3
Comment: hi laurina, what a beautiful flag and a wonderful sentiment, thank you so much. my husband and i plan to take a trip to the grand canyon, hopefully some time soon, love the postcard.
Comment: Kieran was here when the cards arrived. He was so excited to get them. they are SO cute. Please give Kitt a big hug and tell him, "job well done"! He loves that his little brother also got a card! Thank you, Mary
PS, thank you for the 2 extras that he can use.
Comment: Thank you for the birthday card, stamped images and red envelopes. I really appreciate you paying attention to my profile. I love the stamped images. I don't have those stamps so will make a great contribution to my images. I can't wait to start using them. The envelopes will also come in handy. I already have an idea for them. Thanks a bunch, Mary
Comment: Thank you sooo much for your beauuutiful Moravian Stars. I have seen these before on someone else's tree and always admired them. Unfortunately the box got a bit smashed up in the post. I think everything is there - three stars and a piece of pretty material and the stars are not damaged at all. Thank you again, regards, Margot
Comment: I loved this journal entry - so heartfelt and warm - it makes me want to see photos of Hoor and the forest! I like your idea of home. :) It sounds very peaceful. Thanks also for the adorable card! It puts me in the spirit of Christmas! Happy Holidays :)
Comment: I LOVE this Christmas postcard! My daughter stole it and put it on her bulletin board, since she loves horses. How wonderful to have a summer home in Sweden! Thanks so much for sharing your Swedish postcard!
Comment: Hi Laurina & Kitt,
Thank you for my cool postcard! I really love boy scouts a lot and I'm glad you do too. Last night I went to my pack meeting and got a trophy for second place for selling popcorn. My cousin got third place how cool is that? We also got to throw pies in my moms face because she runs the popcorn sale. I had so much fun! I'm glad you have fun with boy scouts too. Thank you very much for my cool card!
Thank you *very* much from choke too :D
Comment: Your personal mission statement is great! I feel the need to make the same kinds of changes in my life and you stated it perfectly! And you made the entry beautiful to look at, too. Thank you for sharing it with me. :)
Response: Thanks for the kind comment and the heart!
Comment: Thanks so much for the great postcard! It's beautiful! How can you stand living in Phoenix when you have a summer home in Sweden?!?! I was born/raised in Phoenix and tried to move back in 2003. Between the traffic, the heat, the crime I just couldn't handle it. How did your speech go? Hope you won!
Comment: i got your package today. thanks for all of the great images, i liked the fairy the best. and i really liked the way you mailed it. that paper was so cool and i liked all of the stamps you used. i like to make postcards from recycled mail and that package will make some nice ones. thanks again.
Comment: WOW! what a wonderful package. I loved reading your letter and hearing about your garden in Sweden. My mother was from Sweden and I have visited and it brought back such nice memories. The garden lights are beautiful!!
Comment: I really loved everything you shared. I could learn a lot from you and your boys. Thanks for sending the menu from the vegan/veggie fast food place. Didn't even know they had those... I'll be writing you soon. I find switching cold turkey is hard for me, I crave cheese and ice cream all the time.
Comment: thanks for a awesome package. kiara loves elmo in glitter glue. the embrodery floss we cant find here no more. been searching for some. great timing . ty.. maybe we can swap for some more sometime. enjoy your trip.
Comment: Thank you for the great tip-in and the story that came with it. The story solved a mystery for me as I was so shure I have had swaps from you from Swded and then this came from USA. Thank you for the card, hugs :-)
Comment: I love her--she's hysterical! Makes me smile every time I look at her--thanks so much! And I love the post card. I worked at the Grand Canyon in college and that was my view every day...it seems like a lifetime ago!
Comment: First off, sorry I'm so late in rating....that's not like me.
She's great! I love your little message of "she's not pretty, or cute.. she is the way she wanted to be." That so speaks to the whole creative process. :) Great swap and thanks for putting your all into it.
Comment: Wow, what a pretty package! I love the purse, it's such a pretty color. Thank you so much for all of the goodies inside, and the letter! I enjoyed learning about your family and activities, best of luck to you and yours! Thanks again :):)
Comment: Many thanks for the TWO!!! postcards. Swedene and Yuma are quite a combination. Why do you have a mailbox under the bridge?
Response: Oh, it's a letterbox. Kind of like a geocache. So, we've hidden a small plastic box with a logbook and handcarved stamp near the bridge, for people to find. They just log onto letterboxing.org to read the clue and then go hunt for it.
Comment: Hello Laurina,
Thank you first and foremost for your very encouraging and upbeat note that you sent along with your beads. As well, thank you for the additional encouraging note on the loose piece of paper. It shares a wonderful message as well. Now, onto the beads, beautiful white beads that encourage peace and starting anew. What two great ideas to have as we start a new year. I will proudly add your beads to my Mala Prayer Mediative Bead Circle and remember the two messages that they represent when I come to them. Thank you for your thoughtfulness in this whole swap. It is apparent that you put lots of care into this swap for your partners. I look forward to future opportunities to swap with you in the future. Until that time arrives, I hope you are enjoying rewarding and positive swapping experiences. Have a wonderful 2008 filled with peace, encouragement, and an upbeat outlook.
Comment: I finally figured it out! I got the package right before Christmas and it got lost in the mix of things. Go figure! I am so sorry for the first rating and thanks for being patient with me. I did like the colors you picked and thanks for sending the little extras. Have fun sewing!
Response: I ABSOLUTELY sent 2 fat quarters to you. I mailed to all 3 people at the same time. I will email to you, as well.
Comment: Thank you Laurina, for the inchie kit and the sharpie marker - and for re-sending the missing parts.
Response: I feel awful! How forgetful of me! I just got so caught up in making my very first inchie that I forgot the theme. Sorry. I'll send you a new inchie and a little "create" to stick on the matchbox.
Comment: Your 43things list is wonderful! I can tell you're really using your list to keep yourself focused; your entries are so interesting.
By the way, I joined you on "try my hand at making inchies." :)
I ran out of cheers, but I'm going back and cheering you later!
Comment: I got my package today
its great I love the kitties and the happy bag is the neatest thing
I am going to hang it by my computer at home
can't wait to start on the Godness doll kit.
I havn't made one yet so they will be fun
thanks again for a great package
Comment: The ornaments are fabulous! We went out and bought a Christmas tree immediately, because my kids were so excited to hang them =] My 7yr old son says that your son is "very creative, and has good artist *pertential*" hehe X]
Thanks so much, and happy holidays!
Comment: I love the Tomte holiday card. Thank you.
Where did you get your Swedish holiday cards?
I really like them. My background is 1/4 Swedish, and I'm collecting any info. on Sweden from holiday traditions etc. Best wishes. Stephanie (solarts)
Response: I buy my Christmas cards EARLY, when I'm at our summer home in southern Sweden each summer. That's planning ahead! They've got a great price at my favorite card store in Lund (1 krona each). Laurina
Comment: Devon & I wish to thank you for the card, the great postcard and the tag! The postcard definitely stole the show~ That is the kind of thing Dev loves! We both think a "Tomte" looks so much cuter than a fat man in a red suit!! :D
Comment: I was thrilled to find your envelope in my mailbox today! Strangely enough, the envelope was cleanly and completely sliced open on each end, but nothing appeared to be missing. The MOO dolls are MOOarvelous - LOL! And I loved all the extras - 2 knitting/yarn tips, 2 Mary Englebreit cuts, St. Lucia girl stamped image (one of the Moo dolls I made was a Lucia), Happy Holidays sticker, peppermint striped tag (I LOVE peppermint stripe motifs!), all snug in a nice M.E. note card. THANK YOU so much! :)
Comment: I LOVE the hand-carved Jeep stamp! I'm giving it to my husband, who drives the Jeep and who has a very uninspired stamp with just his name on it right now. And the LB printouts are perfect-- we're in Chatt. right now, and are going to the Aquarium this Wednesday!
Response: I shall pass the compliment along to my son. Glad you like the hand-carved Jeep!
Comment: Hi Lob thank you for your fabulous summer tip-in and the story that goes with it.I love that idea and never thought to add a story with any of mine. Thank you for all the wee extras, they will all be most usefull :-)))
Comment: Thank you very much for your letter & a copy of your essay. I read the letter a few times & am still contemplating it. You've just opened up a completely new line of thinking in my head - for that you get a heart!
Response: I'm so glad you learned something from my letter! I'd give you a heart back for your understanding. Thanks!
Comment: Flat Lily arrived in good shape today and will be accompanying me on our trip to Ashland for the Shakespeare Festival next week. I'll see about planning a trip up to Portland too. My sister lives there and I haven't seen her in awhile. Bringing a guest to show off Portland to is always a good excuse! I'll let you know her travels go...
Comment: Thank you so much for the lovely letter on such beautiful stationary! I can't wait to try the creamed carrot recipe you gave me -- that was a real treat. Also, thanks for the tea! I'm trying it tonight. :)
Comment: Fabulous photos! And I love the extra goodies, which will be put straight to work on cards to my daughters :-)
Oh... do you belong to BookCrossing.com? Your bookshelves look like BookCrossers' bookshelves.
Comment: Wowww, Laurina I have really enjoyed your photo!! I was telling my husband and we are both amazed about the distribution of the houses and the look with all the trees around!
HUgs and thanks so much for the cute photo and message
Comment: Thanks a lot for the "Happy Bag", I loved the concept... I couldn't resist and although I wasn't feeling blue, I picked 2 slips and they brought a smile to my face! :D (I also loved the stamps on the envelope, I was a scout for more than 8 years...)
Comment: Thank you...It came in a baggie from the post office in pieces (I guess we now know how they feel about the swap!) but my past 3 partners flaked on me...so even though it's in pieces...it meant a lot to me!!!! Thanks again!!!!!
Comment: Bobby the dog arrived safe and sound with his photo album, and will have plenty of time to tour the area before being sent back! He's so CUTE! I bet a lot of people will want pictures with him!
Comment: Received my literary swap today. Great stuff. I have just got back into reading and so the bookmarks are very welcome.
I particularly likes the blue leather one. Love to just sit and run my fingers over it. Thanks Laurina for a grand effort.
Comment: You can guess how confused I was when I recieved a letter with only a swedish stamp but an american sender adress! Tack för brevet! Att bo halva året i USA låter inte särskilt fel, speciellt inte med tanke på regnet, blåsten och översvämningarna just nu.
