Comment: Hi Shannon. I received your adorable spotted elephant ATC. He is so cute. I Goggled him to see if he had a name and it turns out he doesn't. He's just the "spotted elephant". Well, at least he went to a good home. As you can see, I love Rudolph as well. I'm 48 and grew up watching it. Of course, in those days we only got to see Rudolph once a year and we couldn't miss it or we had to wait a whole year to see it again!!! These days you can watch it much as you want. To me, it isn't the same. Anyway, I'm babbling. Thanks again for the super adorable ATC. I love it.

Response: I usually do send the swaps myself, just had an emergency that day and handed it to my husband to be sure it go out. I guess he was more worried about my emergency than getting it sent out on time. :( Thought you might have liked the extra incentive of the decorated envelope as well. I usually do that to go the extra mile. Probably not so much anymore. Thanks for the tip on the ATC's though. I've been using card stock thinking it would be strong enough. I hope yours didn't get damaged. :(

I still magically rec'd 4 postcards and some stickers, an handmade envie and some other little papers inside of it. I don't even know how cuz the bottom was open end to end... and it was handed to me upside down so the open end was on top. CRAZY! Love what you sent! :)

Comment: Oh, the Mackinac Bridge is very familiar to me! My dad has a cabin in Northern Michigan (Glennie) and we have been to the Island a million and a half times! I loved the decorated envelope, too! :) I've also been through your city plenty of times! :)

Comment: We were just at Greenfield Village YESTERDAY!! My dad really wanted to go to celebrate our mutual birthday, so we went! It was mad fun! We didn't see the Ford Museum though, it was too much for one day. My son Henry was pretty stoked to see an inventor with his same name.

Comment: My huband, son and I used to go to Mac-kinac Island, and walk the bridge every Labor Day. The first time we went up, it was just a coincidence that we happened to be there, but it became one of our traditions to drive there, from Tomah, Wi, every fall. Hugs from Alaska, Sherry

Response: Sorry for the delayed response, it's been a pretty busy week for me. The reason for the rusty color is the high iron levels in the river. Not sure about swimming, I don't think it's safe as I've never seen anyone swimming in it. It is a lovely place though, they say it's the second largest waterfall (behind Niagara), east of the Mississippi...

Response: Well, then you should definitely go, they have a room in the hotel that is dedicated to the movie. Best time to go is at the end of May or first week of June when all the lilacs are in bloom. It's gorgeous and smells wonderful! You're very welcome. :)

Comment: My mother-in-law dreams of visiting Mackinac Island. Although, I think she imagines it to be like the Amish towns in the midwest and on the east coast. It is on my list of places to visit!
Response: While there are no cars there, it's nowhere near an Amish lifestyle. They still have electronics and being one of the most visited tourist attractions on Michigan, you see many different cultures there. Still a very wonderful place to visit!

Comment: Boy my mail box was so full with about 9 postcards and a couple of envelopes. That was a fun walk to get my mail. Your card was one of them and i is cool with all the pictures of the falls. Thy are all so pretty and they make you want to be there. Yes it would be fun to be able to take off all the time and go to all the pretty placesto go see and have fun. Have a real nice day.

Comment: I love wild boars, I didn't know they were really really really stinky until I took a tourist tram thing on vacation and leaned out the window to snap a picture--ack--I thought I would die. Still love to look at them though :) Thanks!
