Response: Oh no! :(
I have so many cards, I am happy to send more. Just let me know! :)
Response: I love the old stamps so much!
Response: every summer I say I'm going to PA Grand Canyon, then get distracted. Next year for sure! :)
Response: I was surprised to 1. see it on the list and 2. find one in my pile :)
Response: I found hundreds of those photo negative sleeves at a junk shop and instantly thought: swap-bot! :)
Response: if you haven't been here in a while, it's changed quite a bit! :)
Response: happy to find good homes for stuff! :)
Response: you can get a self-inking stamp like that pretty cheap -- about $5, i think, and it saves so much time, haha.
Response: I wrote some of everything, but mostly arts coverage and films. :)
Response: It's on my list!
Response: glad it arrived! I had trouble sorting out the postage, since rates have just gone up. :)
Response: Alas, it was snowing this morning! spring soon, I guess, haha. glad you liked the card. I probably have a motel card for every letter in the alphabet -- I've been using a lot of them for this Scatts series. Best, Al
Response: Happy to send some clippings! PM me your address. :) Best, al
Response: can't take credit for that -- those were wine labels that had never been pasted onto bottles :)
Response: Not real, as in you can't spend it! (Plus they use Euros in Germany now) It's a reproduction -- I found a whole pad of them at a junk store -- like a notepad. Not sure what their original purpose was.
Response: glad you can use it! I am a very good packer :)
Response: will send some stuff -- you're doing me a favor :)
Response: oops, sorry for forgetting the swap name! thank you for figuring it out. :)
Response: that self-inking Swap-Bot stamp may have been the best $5 or so I've spent! haha
Response: that self-inking stamp has been worth every penny of the six bucks or so it cost! haha
Response: that's weird! the other stamp must have fallen off. I was using up all stamps, and adding 6 cents to 29 cents. Though I suppose it's possibe that I missed one and it only had 6 cents! if so, then thank you to the post office! :)
Response: Ah, sorry! I do see now that you preferred them colored in. Next time, I promise! :)
Response: Hello! I included a note with them all, but with 20, it's quite possible I missed including it with one -- doh. You were one of my partners -- mine was a bright orange envelope with old clippings, "sale" stickers, comic panel, etc. thanks for tracking me down! Al
Response: that's pretty much exactly my same trip, haha. I wish more of the bathhouses were still open
Response: Hi Rita, I'll happily send more clippings -- have boxes. No need to send anything, I'm happy to clear the space here!
Response: lots more where that came from -- just ask!
Response: I am slowly filling up envelopes with assorted clippings, so whenever you need a fresh batch, just holler.
Response: Yes, a couple of pairs have set up homes -- Pittsburgh has a lot of wooded hills. I think they scavenge a lot too, city garbage -- haha
Response: I love to find random cards their forever homes -- haha
Response: had a great time thanks. I never found a post office while walking around and ended up dropping the cards into a rando street box, so glad they made it!
Response: So glad to hear!
Response: that's great! I have over the years in grab bags acquired a lot of religious postcards (mostly of fine-art paintings) and they are often harder to find homes for. Glad this one did!
Response: i think in tiny print somewhere it said Turkey?
Response: it's amazing that postcards make it at all when you think about it -- so small in so much mail! Glad to hear this one arrived safely.
Response: isn't it? adorable
Response: I should add, they were washed up and deceased when we played with them :)
Response: you're quite welcome! I have so many cards, I love the scavenger hunt aspect of trying to match them to the right home. :) (btw, those "classy" tissue sleeves are food-service wrappers, like they use in bakeris to hand you a cookie. haha.)
Response: Oh good! :) thanks for letting me know. Best, al
Response: yes, send them on new journeys! :)
Response: it's like 20 hours long! I'm saving it to my DVR ... might be good for a cold rainy weekend in big chunks.
Response: it's always fun when you know you have just the right card! :) Enjoy your trip. Best, al
Response: right now I'm having trouble finding a NAME for my new cat. haha
Response: glad it could find a good home! :)
Response: wow, that did get there fast! Maybe the postal bar code helps? :)
Response: yes, I did get a new cat. a super-sweet little black one, a real snuggler. I wish I could take all the sad cats at the shelter. :)
Response: lol, I didn;t realize I had so many until I started rounding them up. I got them for free, so happy they found a home! I technically joined swapbot to get rid of things. :)
Response: I have a lot of random cards, so I enjoy these scavenger swaps :)
Response: that's great! I've been in 2 minds about that card since I could see some folks not being into a cigarette thing. But it's a nice photo :)
Response: is this the cute cat reading?Glad it made it!
Response: yikes, my handwriting is dreadful. I am making funny cat toys out of FELT, lol
Response: you're quite welcome. Something about matching cards to people's profile really appeals to the listmaker in me!
Response: we have a shop in town called Creative Reuse that is like a thift shop for arts and crafts supplies. Companies are encouraged to donate stuff rather than throw it away. Whole Foods dumps loads of rolls of stickers there, as do hospitals, so I always have a bunch of random stickers. :)
Response: No, not ugly :)
Response: glad it arrived finally!
Response: you're quite welcome. Now I'm curious what I sent -- haha
Response: yup, it was the Angel's Landing hike. I couldn't recall the name. not happy in the scary part, and then of course, you're thinking: i have to come back through on the way down! haha Great view from the top though, and I lived to tell about it.
Response: LOL, you have a better connection than me, having seen the exhibit. (And I'm jealous -- I love fashion, fabrics, etc.) I just found that book of postcards in a thrift shop somewhere. A couple of years ago, I did one month wearing only black and white and gray. Colors I have a lot of, but it was sort of boring after a while. I cannot wear white -- I am a instant magnet for dirt, mustard, etc.
Response: I work downtown (I get no mail anymore, so I use my work address to brighten up my cubicle) -- I'm at the other end of Smithfield, near 7th street. Yes, hoping Pens wrap this up in 4 games! Best, al
Response: thank you got not docking me for freshwater fish -- haha
Response: I have so much stuff. By all means, send me requests of what you like and I'm happy to fill envelopes. :)
Response: such a fun challenge! :)
Response: I can't take credit for the stamp -- the USPS recently put out a series of "pets" stamps, and they include quite a lot beyond dog and cat. Glad it found a good home :)
Response: i too like to read the book before the movie! my next book is one a pal recommended about folks who fake their own death -- Playing Dead by Elizabeth Greenwood.
Response: no worries about the "ban." I have since read more FAQs and understand the quite reasonable banning practice. I had just signed up, and that banning email was the very first message I received, so it was a bit of a "what?" haha. I am happy the lighthouse card found it way to a good home. :) Best, Al
