Comment: Great postcard and answer to the prompt! I've been hungrier lately, but that's because I've been trying to eat a healthier breakfast. It leads to bigger cravings in the afternoon! Lol! Happy swapping!
Comment: I think it will be quite a while before the Galaxy's Edge hubbub dies down but hopefully that will leave the rest of the parks a little less crowded. Of course, there are probably thousands with the same way of thinking I have and you won't be able to move an inch without rubbing elbows with someone.
Comment: Thanks for the card--I've got a book of those cute animals saying nasty things, but they are all so nasty I can't bring myself to send them in a swap. At least this one didn't mention a disease. haha!
Comment: I love the kitty's stare on this PC; he won't let anyone get away with anything! I'm sure the mail carriers read some of them but if they read them all it would be midnight before I got my mail!! Thank you!
Comment: Love this postcard. Thank you for sharing it with me. My last Disney trip was not so great either. It was last May, I had a two year old and I was five months pregnant. What the heck was I thinking. lol. But hopefully this next trip will be awesome. It will be just me and my hubby in September to celebrate 15 years of magic. I hope your next trip is amazing too.
Comment: I love puppies but I have to agree! One reason I keep kitties is because they are easier to deal with, at all ages! I wish I had the wherewithal to have a dog 'cause I'd get an Alaskan Malamute with blue eyes! Thank you!
Comment: I’m kind of the opposite. I was going thru pain for months and just dealing with it until a routine check up. Dr asked me if this hurt and I said yes, 10 minutes later I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Just great. 😳
Comment: Thank you for the Scattergories list and beautiful Utah postcard! I love Zion too so much. Great list- I wrote Ursula too! I worked with an Ursula 42 years ago:) Beautiful stamps on the card. Happy Swapping and Happy Summer 🧡
Comment: Hi Nori, Thanks for the pc, thanks for sending me Garfield, I love it. Will go right now and look up Matchmaking for Beginners, sounds good. Also The Girl who dared to fight, will look that up too. Thanks for a great swap!!
Comment: Thanks for the beautiful postcard and lovely stamps! We have tons of mountain goats here and I always marvel at their agility on the cliffs. You should come and see them! Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Comment: Beautiful postcard. I love Hawaii. It's been a long time since we were there though, almost 8 years. We said then we were going back in 2020. It's sad all that's going on on the Big Island. Gotta have dreams!!
Comment: Love the umbrella stand postcard 😍 What are ginger chews?
Response: These are ginger chews. I tried them for the first time in Oct, and I'm hooked! https://www.amazon.com/Chimes-Original-Ginger-Chews-5-pound/dp/B0041CD3W0/ref=sr_1_9_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1526008693&sr=8-9&keywords=chimes%2Bginger%2Bchews&th=1
Comment: That’s crazy you had two swaps for my town at the same time! Apparently Michigan is jumping on the swap-bot bandwagon lol - recently I had a bunch from Michigan haha 🙃☺️ Thanks for a cute PC ❤️
Comment: I love that idea about putting a reminder on your computer to "get up and move!" I may do something similar, though I do computer support and it's pretty consistently busy. I'll figure something out. :)
Comment: Thank you for the colorful card! This was the first time in three years we've received a tax refund. Oregon taxes are weird and our first two years here we had to pay the state back. It was nice receiving money. Even better, we were subjected to an audit and RECEIVED over $200 (original refund plus interest) because of an error on the IRS's part.
Response: Oh, man! Was being audited by the IRS worth $200? That sounds stressful.
Comment: Oh I LOVE this card of Winged Victory. I saw this statue when I visited the Louvre Museum in Paris in 2002 and it is so awe inspiring to see in person. Thank you for this most wonderful postcard - I think it may be my favorite of all time!!
Response: You're so welcome! I'm so happy that it has special meaning to you. <3
Comment: Thanks for the postcard! I have been on bits of Route 66 throughout the years.
Where at in Illinois were you living? I am originally from Wisconsin, only 10 miles north of the Illinois border. I've lived in New Orleans for 2 years now.
Response: I was living in a small town almost as south as you can get in Illinois -- Metropolis.
Comment: Hi Nori! Do you live near Metropolis? We stopped there last September on the way back from AL, loved the Superman statue and had fun at the casino! LOL! I have heard interns can be a pain, hopefully I hope things improve! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Response: I was raised in Metropolis. :) It's a fun town to call home!
Comment: Thank you for the Chicago IL card. The only football team I watch regularly is the Kansas City Chiefs. I have noticed that I have received quite a few sport stadium cards so I am thinking about putting them in their own book.
Comment: Nori, you are a woman after my own heart. I keep the freezer stocked at all times. I finally got my husband not to eat all that I make, because I want to freeze some. I love going to the freezer and taking and defrosting a meal. Are we getting lazy? No, just smart. Thank you for the postcard, Shirley
Comment: Thank you for the Grand Canyon, Arizona card. I have been 3 times on Air/land tour from Las Vegas in a very small plane then bus over to the south rim. Then fly back to Vegas. Was fun. I would like to go to the west rim area to the Hopi indian village and the glass bridge. It wasn't open yet the last time we went.
Comment: Thank you for the California pc, and vintage stamp. We visited LA and surrounding areas about 12 years ago when we visited our friends who live in Upland. It’s the only part of California we have visited thus far but I do hope to see more of the state one day!
Comment: Ok, this card is adorable!! Cutesy, warm and fuzzy type stuff is not usually my jam, but who doesn't love a purple fuzzy elephant holding a bunch of flowers? LOL Thanks for putting a smile on my face. The stamp is also really cool!!
Thank you for the second card of the Hearst Castle. SO COOL. I love the overhead shot. I keep meaning to visit this place, but just can't seem to find the time to take off work. Another cool stamp, thanks!
Multiple hearts for this swap!! :-)
Comment: I love a little less than 2 hours from Vegas. I've never understood the draw to that city either, aside from the shopping and lights. I'd like to spend my money on things that will make me happy longer than the 2 seconds it takes to loose it all.
Comment: I think Irma had a lot to do with it being a low turn out. All the people who can get the Disney cards are in FL or CA. Try 5 next time. I think you will have a better turn out. But it is fun, never the less.
Comment: Thank you for the neat Post Card. We missed seeing the eclipse. Was raining off and on here. Too bad. I've always been interested in astronomy. Got a telescope but don't use it very often. Thanks again.
Comment: Thanks for the PC! Also, I've been meaning to thank you for hosting this series. I've really enjoyed it! I've gotten insanely busy at work and have had to cut back on my swaps, but I've made sure to participate in this one.
Response: You're welcome! I'm so glad that you're enjoying it! Just a heads up that because I'm going on vacation, I probably won't host a swap in October, but will resume in November.
Comment: Nori, thank you for the postcard of the Needles Canyonland National Park. It just seems so strange that in the United States landscape seems to take on so many different traits. I love near the ocean so I can't imagine living where there is just massive erosions of the earth that caused such wonderful scenery. Shirley
Comment: Thank you for the colorful, bustling Old Arbat street scene; it makes me want to walk into the painting :) And thank you for the reminder to hydrate. I am also guilty of going several hours and then wondering why I am parched! Happy weekend!
Comment: I live 45 minutes from the Canadian border and I barely go there AND I know nothing about it. The oddest thing about them is that when they have a holiday EVERYTHING shuts down. Even the mall, restaurants, and stores. The only thing we found open was WalMart.
Comment: Hi Nori! Thank you for the very pretty pc and for sharing about your day! Always enjoy having you as a partner! Did you find anything fun at the thrift stores? Sounds like a wonderful day! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Comment: Belated thank you for the darling snoozing Scottie -- such bold colors! -- card and for sharing your goals with me; I hope you got your list done! I am also in the process of organizing my postcards and stationery, as well as thinning out my wardrobe. I have read Marie Kondo, but even knowing her method and having achieved some success with it hasn't stopped me from being reluctant to part with certain items that hold sentimental value.
Comment: Oh, is definitely been very warm here, especially with the fires. Not sure how hot, because I don't really pay attention, but I know it's been consistently in the mid 80s in my house at night when I go to bed. Thank you for the card!
Comment: Belated thank you for the Princess Aurora card -- I always preferred her dress blue :) I remember my younger sister had a doll with a reversible gown as a kid, and even though it was hers, I would often borrow it just to change the colors back and forth ^_^;; Hope your leg days have been going well!
Comment: WOW I'm so amazed by your X letter find! The fact that you knew where Yellowstone park was is super neat. I wouldve passed right over it looking for an obvious W's! LOL! I love ALL of the cards and alot of them were so clever like the Lamborghini!! Again WOW, I didn't even know what they look like. I love the whole set! Thanks so very much! Wish I could rate higher! Just WOW!
Response: Yay! I'm so glad that you liked everything! This was a fun swap. Hope you have a great weekend!
Comment: This administration just makes me feel sad now. There is something so joyless and hopeless about the future they envision. It's bleak and greedy... and worse I don't think they understand that. Things are so weird right now.
Comment: That is pretty funny that you got me for both swaps, but I feel like that's been happening to me a lot lately. I actually went to New York City for the first time last year. I was there for a few days. I enjoyed it, but didn't get to see as much as I wanted.
Comment: Thank you, Nori. I'm having the opposite reaction to food -- lately I have no appetite at all and have to force myself to eat. Weird, as I love to cook and usually get a lot of pleasure from food.
Comment: This is absolutely adorable! I LOVE Winnie the Pooh. I actually have the original piglet blowing on a dandelion tattooed on me. I love the drawing you did on the back! It's great! I actually thought it was part of the PC when I got it out of the mail. I did a little dance in the car when I saw it on the back! <3 Thanks a BUNCH! :D
Response: Lol! I'm glad you liked it! And the 'drawing' on the back was part of the postcard! I just outlined and colored it in. :)
Comment: Thanks for the postcard! :) What you ate is exactly what I tend to eat...just replacing the Halo Top ice cream with Talenti gelato. ha ha! And I especially loved the design of the postcard you sent.
Response: Yummm! I like the Talenti gelato as well, especially the sea salt caramel.
Comment: That sounds fun, installing the backsplash. It sounds like I'll be installing cabinets this weekend. It was supposed to be hired out, but the people are acting like they don't want to come do it. I'd rather not give them money than have them show up reluctantly and do shoddy work.
Response: Dealing with contractors is no fun! I hope installing the cabinets wasn't too bad. We've been lazy and still haven't sealed the grout on our backsplash. =\ Maybe this weekend?
Comment: I would be like you, I'd want to try the rides even though it makes me sick! haha, I didn't try every ride when I went to Universal years ago but I told myself that when I went to Wizarding World. I would try every ride cause it's Harry Potter haha.
Comment: Hi Nori! Thanks for the lovely informative pc! I have no idea that they only lived 4 years either but thought it was cool that the males carries the babies through the gestation period! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Comment: What a great PC and the cars are beautiful. I'm like you, however, and have never been a car person when it comes to wanting a car like the ones on the PC although I can find them beautiful. I currently drive a 2000 Ford Focus that I absolutely love even though I've had it for 17 years! I did have some work done on it last year that set me back a pretty penny but considering I haven't had a car payment for years and years I felt it was money well spent. Thanks again for the great PC and happy driving. . . and happy swapping ~~
Comment: I helped my parents plan their new house. Stuff like picking out granite really is the worst part, surprisingly. Picking out wall colors was actually the worst. I was very decisive, but my mom (whose house it is) had to see every color on the wall first and since she loves EVERYTHING, it was hard to get it narrowed down. My dad was decisive and stubborn, so he began the process unhappy and stayed that way. Anyway, once it is all done it looks great and it's nice. My parents did granite window sills. I love them. They went shopping for scraps, and it was such a nice addition to their house.... As for the card, it was very charming, thank you
Comment: Belated thank you for the stunning view of Canyonlands National Park (I would love if I could visit them all in a year) and sharing the cities you've visited, Nori! What would you say is your favorite place to have stayed? I want to revisit Washington, D.C. (I didn't get to visit all of the landmarks and museums that I would've liked in the two trips I've been) and visit for the first time Colonial Williamsburg (the new commercial is well-made and enticing :)
Response: Sorry for the late response! My favorite place, and I don't know if I mentioned it on the card, would probably be Springdale, UT, near Zion National Park. We pulled into the our campsite when it was pitch black, and when we woke up, we were right next to the Virgin River and surrounded by the famous peaks of Zion. It left us all speechless.
Comment: Belated thank you for this striking painting of Luke's arrival at Jabba's Palace! (I always wondered how long elapsed between the end of Empire Strikes Back and this scene, because as a kid, I thought Luke looked so much more polished/mature in his sleek black.) As a kid, I loved Episode IV, didn't quite enjoy Episode V initially (I didn't really care for the bickering of Han and Leia, hahaha), and appreciated the conclusion of Episode VI. If you continue watching them, I recommend watching as close to the original versions as possible, sans the horrible CGI revisions that Lucas made in the 90s. I know that some people deride the prequel films (Episode I-III), but I did enjoy them for the cast and production value, and I really enjoyed Rogue One and The Force Awakens/Episode VIII. Happy weekend (and watching)!
Comment: Belated, belated thank you for this fun Wreck This Journal-style postcard, Nori! I don't think this card is gross; it reminds me of how Amelia in Amelia's Notebook would smush things like grass and food in small circles in her notebook to chronicle a specific field trip or day at school :) EDIT (2/19/17): My mistake, I mis-registered this card for this swap ^_^;; I guess the swap names are similar. Thank you for this subtly mischievous (like he's thinking whose life to upend next) Maratti cupid painting card and for sharing your experience with Beach Body. The workouts look like a lot of fun, especially the dance-based ones. A friend of mine is a coach and seems to be doing well.
Comment: Belated thank you for the stunning view of Kalohi Channel and beautiful wintry bird postage, Nori! I hear you about not wanting to part with beloved cars and technology -- contrary to some classmates who would change phones and laptops as if they were underwear, I use mine until they're kaput :)
Comment: Nori, good luck on your car shopping - we had an outback growing up and it was a great car! It lasted a long time. I get what you mean though, car shopping can be very stressful! So much to compare!
Comment: Nori, this postcard was so perfect for me! I love that you matched the postcard to my likes - the John Muir Trail!!!! You're the best. It means so much that you took the time to do that! And thank you for recommending the book, AWOL on the Appalachian Trail, I'll definitely read that. Perfect Swap!! thanks!
Comment: What a nice serene PC! I hope you get to go to Hawaii this year. My sister had a blast and went cage diving with sharks 🦈. Hope you have a awesome weekend and thanks for the the lovely card.ðŸ˜
Comment: Thanks for the White House PC ...in all my years of card swapping I've never gotten one of the White House lol I guess people maybe figured I already had it ...this is one that fits very well into my collection...as for Trump, it's not as jazzy and sparkly as his home but I'm sure he will get used to it lol
Comment: Thank you for the clever Little Red Riding Hoody card, beautiful vintage stamps, and for sharing your motivation with me, Nori :) Glad you are getting back on track -- I hear you about Girl Scout cookies! Thankfully, no troops near me have started selling them; my sister and I like Thin Mints and Trefoils/Shortbreads, respectively. (I once I ate an entire box of the latter in one day while reading The Handmaid's Tale in one sitting >_<;;) There is a new boxing gym that opened near me that I look forward to trying soon. Happy February! (What?!)
Comment: Cute card! You should've colored it. I gave up TV is 2006. I've been very happy without, but it does seem weird to be at other people's houses and the TV is always on. I do watch shows I buy, Netflix, etc.
Comment: Thank you so very much for the re-send - I absolutely love it and it will go right into my Peter Pan collection. I have not received the original PC you sent but I have had PCs show up 3 months after the fact so you just never know. Thanks again for the wonderful PC ~~
Comment: Thank you for the inviting Alice in Wonderland Mad Tea Party card, Nori, and for sharing your walk that turned into a run! I don't know about my feet, but I absolutely do not run if I'm not wearing the correct sports bra and shorts/crops! Wishing you many more runs (in proper socks ;)
Comment: Hi Nori! I love the postcard you sent and it reminded every that my 7 year old has yet to see Pinocchio. I'll have to put that on my own to do list. I hope yours was successfully completed. happy New Year.
Comment: Nori,Thank you for the tobacco barn postcard. I lived in Massachusetts and used to work in the tobacco field and in the barns. I know what tobacco smelled like, b ut it was the only jobs for teenagers at the time so we worked it. Shirley
Comment: Hi Nori! TY for the lovely vintage pc and share! Yes, working 10 hour days makes it seem like the weekend should happen way sooner then it does! I hope all went well on your final exams and whoop, whoop, TGIF!! LOL! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Comment: Somber but beautiful! Thank you😀 I hope you found some yummy cookies to bake! I do love a chewy chocolate chip cookie...maybe that would be my favorite. But any thing with chocolate, peanut butter and/or caramel is a hit with me!
Comment: Thank you for the peaceful view of Oconee Station Falls (I have not yet visited but would love to one day :) Mmm, corn casserole! Corn grits is a favorite side dish of mine, and who doesn't love pumpkin pie and sweet tea? I know some friends of mine say they dislike leftovers, but I like knowing there is something in my fridge that doesn't require cooking. Hope you're having a good start to the week!
Comment: Thank you for the charming Vanity Fair card that reminds me of some of my favorite musicals (The Boy Friend, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and The Drowsy Chaperone) and for the uplifting Lao Tzu quote, Nori :)
Comment: Thank you for the ethereal Alice in Wonderland card and for sharing your list -- I hope you were able to accomplish everything and that you had a great time at Disney Land :) I'd love to run the Star Wars Half Marathon there one day!
Comment: Thank you for the adorable bobcat card -- I loved the small print message about the company's ethos about taking time to appreciate how wonderful the world/nature is and spread magic and joy :) -- and classic Wonder Woman stamp :) Hope you had a successful shopping trip; I have read about Aldi on blogs but haven't been to one yet, as we don't have them. Happy Thanksgiving weekend <3
Comment: Thank you for the handsome fox card and for the reminder that our pets often have the right idea when it comes to sleep :) I would love to visit and hike/climb/ski/run/etc. Colorado one day -- I have only passed through on road trips further west. Happy almost-November! <3
Comment: Thank you for the darling Fairy Castle (it reminds me of The Nightmare Before Christmas and The Neighborhood of Make-Believe) card, Nori! Thank you also in advance for future PC swaps :) Happy Halloween!
Comment: Thank you for the lovely Auden quote and pastel-colored pottery Pomegranate card -- it reminded me of seeing decorative arts-related pieces at the Met and Frick :) Happy Monday! I'm hoping to make it to the park for a run tomorrow morning now that it's cool ^_^
Comment: Hi Nori! Thank you for your card. I do have some suggestions for Netflix binge worthy tv. If you haven't already, the Marvel series, Jessica Jones, Daredevil and Luke Cage are great and have connecting story lines. I just finished watching a show called Rita that is Danish so you really have to pay attention to the captions but it was really worth it.
Response: Thanks! I've watched Jessica Jones, and am kinda watching Daredevil. I've heard that Netflix is going to combine all of the superhero shows into one. I'm not sure if I'll attempt Rita! I'm terrible at paying attention. :)
Comment: Thank you for the Blue Angels card! I had the opportunity to meet the pilots several years ago and get an autographed pictures (I think I was 7!) I agree with you... I love being an American so I can be who and what I want!
Comment: Thank you for the striking, bold O'Keefe painting card, Nori -- another reminder to watch the recently-released Longmire season :) Hope you are getting back into your exercising groove; I am getting over a bad cold and fever, so I haven't been able to work out, either. Now that the weather's turned, I can't wait to go running in the park again! Happy weekend :)
Comment: Hi Nori, thank you for your postcard. I'm a raw food chef and have done many fasts and cleanses over the years. Dr. Furhman has written some articles online and a book on fasting. He feels our bodies need to rest and we should only be eating for 7 hours each day. Pretty cool concept.
Comment: Thank you for the adorable Richard Scarry-esque (but I see that it's actually a Sanrio character :) card, patch of daisy doodles, and for sharing your wish -- I also wish I could get paid to stay home with my furbabies (albeit cats). Happy first day of September! (I have been playing the Earth, Wind, and Fire song non-stop this morning, haha.)
Comment: This might very well be my new favorite postcard <3 <3 <3 I love Europa, it's one of my favorite moons... future unmanned missions to Europa via submersible drone are one of the many things I'm looking forward to in years to come :) I love the vintage travel poster style, too!
I'm right there with you on the majority of the things on your list. I've never heard your husband laugh, so I can't level with you there, but I love traveling and hiking and puzzles and Pokemon :P
Response: I'm so glad that you like the card! When I read your profile, I knew exactly what card to send you.
Comment: Thank you for the colorful, whimsical, design-centric quintet of cards, Nori! I especially liked the jellyish-like/raincloud Marimekko pattern and Ghost World-esque Sleepwalk cover card! :) Happy Wednesday!
Comment: Thanks Nori for the postcard and as i used it to stare into as i meditated i had a very interesting experience. The spiral is based on the fibonacci math equations which are called the golden spiral. Enjoyed that you too, like seeing the magnificent in the mundane. Amazing!
Comment: Hi Nori! THANK YOU for the postcard about Saturn's largest moon TITAN! Think i am in a saturn return in the astrology charts. We have them every so often at a certain age! LOVED the quote about at the end of the day and smelling like dirt by Margaret Atwood. I have had that experience working in the garden. Must admit there is a feeling of coming home when i smell that smell! Thank you for the reminder! What we do even the smallest things as in sending someone a postcard does matter!
Comment: Ahahaha! That sounds like something I would do, go to work late because I am caught up in reading :) Thank you for the gorgeous autumnal Big Sky country card -- it's definitely at the top of my USA travel wishlist! Happy weekend!
Comment: Thank you so much for the Governor's Palace card. It is lovely! We are enjoying spring now. We had a mild winter, but it seems we are slowly getting spring. It rained all day yesterday, but it snowed on Monday. Have a great day!
Comment: Thank you for the great Dorothy doll card! I remember studying the Oz books in AP American History as symbolic of populism and the economy at the time. I haven't read them in their entirety, but I remember being terrified of Queen Mombi (and her collection of heads!!) in Return to Oz as a child. Happy Friday!
Response: Oh, wow! A collection of heads? No wonder a movie of the second book was never produced (that I know of)! That would definitely not have been child friendly.
Comment: Thank you for the delightful cat jazz band card -- definitely brightened up this gloomy if deliciously cool Friday morning! What was the WOD like? Hope you did better on the redo or had a good run!
Response: The WOD was a triplet of squat cleans, jump roping, and hanging knee raises. I ended up not doing anything though, and was just lazy!
Comment: Recreation space travel would be awesome! I am fascinated with space! Love the post card! How did you make it? I need to look into making my own.
Response: NASA has a collection of poster prints that are free for public use. I picked my favorites, created a postcard back, and printed them through www.vistaprint.com. The poster prints are at http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/visions-of-the-future/.
Comment: Thank you for the ethereal, beautiful Jupiter auroras card (it reminds me of The Magic School Bus: Lost in the Solar System) and quote, Nori! It is something that I needed to hear :) Happy Tuesday!
Comment: Thank you for the Cadet Nurse recruitment WWII Postcard! LOVE IT!
wow Hiking in Death Valley?! 95 ish? EEEK I couldn't stand it! Well.. wait.. is it DRY? Coz if its dry I could. If its humid - FORGET IT!
Comment: Thank you for the card - yes, love is certainly a give and take - not give give give or take take take! I am glad to say my husband and I give and take pretty well. *grin* Take care and have a wonderful day!
Comment: Thank you for this awesome tourist postcard from India. I'm so jealous of your friends too. I love the postcards from India, i have so many from there already. Thanks to some great/awesome penpals. =D
Comment: Thank you for the beautiful card featuring pink roses and the vintage copy of Uncle Tom's Cabin (I was just reading about Marin Mazzie replacing Kelli O'Hara as Anna in The King and I this spring :) Which movie did you watch post-postcard writing?
Comment: Loved the Monet card! I like to try to guess the artist before I turn it over, and although I thought it was Monet because of the bridge, the colors threw me off and I guessed wrong LOL. Loved your very funny comment about your puzzle. Hang in there LOL
Comment: Hi Nori! Looks like a great place to go and hike & a place you love! I am not a huge hiker but don't mind giving it a try if the trails are not too crazy! Thanks for the heads up! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
